Markus 1st day

820 Words
Markus and his friends arrived at Stonewall Conservatory a little after 5. They went straight to the office to find out where they would be staying. Walking up to the office Markus would sense the faint scent of something delicious. He would look around and try to find out what the source was. He eventually gave up assuming it was coming from the dinning hall. Once they settled into their apartment the guys decided to go grab some food and check out their new school. The dining hall is set up as a buffet. Markus and his friends picked an empty table towards a corner to eat at. After a few minutes a group of girls asked if they could join them. Alex immediately said yes. The girls were flirting with them. They wanted to hangout longer and go to their apartment, but Markus said no. His friends started to tease him about it saying that his girlfriend Sarah wouldn’t let him have friends who are girls. He ended up giving in and letting them come over after to hangout. Once back at the apartment the guys shared. They put on some music, set out some snacks they took from the dining hall and pulled out some bottles they brought from home. Everyone was having a good time. Around 9 a phone started ringing. One of the girls picked it up from the table and answered it without checking the screen to see who was calling. She immediately handed the phone to Markus saying “I’m sorry I didn’t look first” the person on the line heard and started getting more upset making assumptions. Markus took the phone to his room and answered. It was a very upset Sarah. He tried to explain the guys invited the girls and they were just getting to know each other. He asked her why she doesn’t just enroll in the school if she’s worried. Sarah doesn’t want to go to school because she feels that as the future Luna of the midnight pack that she doesn’t need to go to school. Markus ended up staying in his room the rest of the night talking to Sarah trying to make her feel better about being so far away. They made plans for her to come visit for a weekend soon. It was around midnight by the time they hung up. He needed to be up for a school wide orientation at 8am. He knew he was going to be exhausted staying up so late, but he wanted to make sure Sarah was happy first. By the time Markus woke up it was 7:30 and he barely had enough time to shower and get to the meeting hall for the orientation. He smelled the same faint delicious scent but couldn’t find the source. Once again assuming it was coming from the dining hall. The orientation reviewed the rules and expectations of the Stonewall Conservatory. There was to be no violence, fighting or black magic on the premises. The only fighting allowed was in training. After the orientation was finished, they were supposed to follow their individual class schedules. Markus was enrolled in the Alpha program. He would have history of all the types of magical creatures, politics, pack financing, training, and an elective course. He picked art as his elective to balance out the serious classes. His friends went to the Beta and Gamma programs. Very similar to his course load but created to teach them what would be needed in their job rolls. The classes were mixed with all the magical creatures not just werewolves. Walking to his first class of the day Markus had the feeling he was being watched but when he looked around, he didn’t see anyone looking his way. Once in class he took a seat neat the center of the room and waited for the class to start. It was History 101, he quickly made friends with the guy next to him. He was a Vampire named Jake from a Coven near the Midnight Pack. They exchanged numbers and agreed to be study partners for the class. When class ended, he decided to stop at the dining hall for a quick snack since he missed breakfast. He knew he would need the energy to make it through his next class, which was Politics, as an Alpha he would need to be able to understand the politics around him. Be it pack politics or what’s going on with the vampire and witch covens, how the fairy courts are doing and any allies that might affect his pack. The class was full of all the future leaders of the species, and you could feel the tension when you walked in the room. No one wanted to appear weak or incompetent. The rest the day went by quickly. Markus just wanted to have dinner and go to his room to rest.
