“I have a double burger for the lady and a French dip with loaded cheese fries for the gentleman,” says the homely, young waitress as she sets down the two greasy plates of food between Clay and I.
“Thank you, Gloria,” he politely tells the waitress.
He’s always doing things like that. It’s beginning to get under my skin. It’s not just that he thanks everyone for doing their f*****g jobs, but he learns their name like they are about to embark on some grand friendship together. The man is nice to everyone. How did he ever survive the life in the field? I bet as an operative this man would thank his captive for the opportunity of cutting off their fingers one by one for information.
