Step 33. Balcony Playlist: “Mine” by Bazzi I recently read an article about the oldest living fruit bat in captivity. Statler is thirty-three years old. Not all that far off from my age, which puts things a bit into perspective. He lives in a sanctuary in Texas. While he has lost the ability to fly, he has not lost the craving for companionship. The two other elder bats in his habitat have formed a trio. It was said that each night, when one of them went to bed in their hammock, the other two would follow within minutes. And each morning when the sanctuary team would come in, the three of them would be hanging around in a circle actually facing each other, as if having a conversation over their breakfast.
