Shit, s**t, s**t, s**t, s**t, s**t…
Matt’s fuming in the seat next to me, lecturing me on agreeing to go to the station. I’m only half hearing him, though. My brain is on repeat between cursing my stupidity and asking one simple question.
What the f**k did I miss at the cabin?
“Are you even listening to me, man?” Matt shouts at me. His face is red. I really pissed him off.
My silence isn’t helping much either, so I answer him, “Yes, I am.”
“Then why the f**k did you agree to go to the station? You don’t have to answer anything unless you’re placed under arrest, even on hold of suspicion of a crime. And you certainly do not have to go anywhere to do it,” he repeats for the fifth time.
