Chapter 14
"Okay, boss, here's the drill: When we arrive, you have to soften your expression and not look like you're going to eat people," Kheed reminded the young man next to him, who was driving straight ahead. "Then your face should show that you miss her terribly; you are her lover, and you should make the person feel that you love her."
"Just shut up," Luther said, shaking his head.
"How ungrateful, I'm trying to help here. Ugh, I feel sorry for Samantha already, she's got amnesia and now, she even had to deal with her boyfriend with such an ugly personality, tsk!" shake his head.
The young man ignores his friend, his mind was elsewhere. They went to the private resthouse to carry out Luther's new plan, just as they had agreed at the office. "Wait a minute, boss," Kheed asked abruptly.
"No."
"Just a second, boss. Promise! This can help you," he added.
The young man shook his head as he shifted the steering wheel and came to a halt on the side of the road. Knowing that his companion would continue to bother him. He had no idea why he had agreed to be with him. "Okay! Just wait, boss. Don't leave without me," he exclaimed as he stepped out of the car.
The young man was shaking in frustration, but he was looking around where he had stopped and parked. It is a marketplace. It has a large population. He could tell the place was noisy even if he didn't roll down the window. He looks around more when he notices some men staring at his car. He wasn't sure if his suspicions were correct or if there were simply too many people in that location, but he didn't let down his guard. He became involved with the mafia. His life is constantly on the verge of being cut short. He checked his rearview mirror to see what was going on. And it was then that he noticed a familiar symbol.
The letter A was formed by three crossed katana. He's all too familiar with that symbol. It's that family. The Asano.
He quickly concluded that the clan had linked him to the two-month-old hijacking. He quickly grabbed the phone and dialed Kheed's number. "Hurry or perish?"
"What, just a second, boss—"
"Asano's men are squatting outside; if you want to live longer, get your fvcking ass there and in here!"
Kheed replied before hanging up, "What? Do they know? s**t! I'll be there in a minute."
He later returned with a bouquet of flowers. The young man frowned and gave it a sidelong glance. "Did you make me wait for that?"
"What? It's for your act! You need props," Kheed replied innocently. "Whatever, fasten your seatbelt and hold those damn flowers tightly, this is going to be a mess," Luther said last before stepping on the gas, causing the engine to start and turning the steering wheel. The vehicle quickly left the area, but he could see in the rearview mirror that they could get easily followed.
"How did they know?" Kheed wondered nervously, carefully holding the flower.
"They have connections. They probably use that," Luther replied, looking back and forth in the mirror as he considered how to get away from them. "Then we're screwed."
"No, we're not," Luther replied, turning the steering wheel to the left and heading towards the woods. The road was bumpy and rocky, but that didn't slow the young man down. It took a few more turns to the right and left before entering a large cave.
"Don't try to talk or I'll kill you," Luther warned Kheed. Every minute, he nodded nervously.
"Now get out of that car and follow me," Kheed immediately obeyed and followed where his boss was going. They went to the far end of the cave until they saw a very beautiful type of car. A black Bentley.
Kheed almost screamed when he saw the smooth and glossy car, but he was able to catch up because the young man's gun was pointed at his head. "Peace," he said quietly. Kheed returned his gaze to the car admiring in silent, in which his companion had now boarded. He followed. "Does it belong to you? How did it end up inside the cave?"
" Lucas did, he knows something like this would happen once we entered the mafia," he replied, before starting the machine, which impressed the young man even more. It did not make any noise. "Does the car now have a silencer? s**t!" exclaimed the young man as he drove away from where the men of the other clan were still looking.
Lucas abruptly called while on the way. (Where have you gone?)
Luther responded, "We're almost there, but something came up."
"Asano's men pursued us, but we escaped!" Kheed added to the conversation.
(What?)
"Looks like they knew we were behind the incident," Luther responded.
(How could they... We're cautious...)
"This is expected; it just arrived early."
(How can we deal with them if you're pretending to be someone's boyfriend? This is a mess!)
Luther replied before hanging up, "I can do both. Don't worry, we'll be there in a minute." Kheed smirked, thinking about his friend's inability to let go of the girl.
After a thirty-minute drive, the two arrived at Lucas' private rest house.
"You made it, congratulations!" Lucas exclaimed, applauding the two. Luther shook his head as he walked past it, while Kheed was staring at the bouquet of flowers in his hand. "A lot of its petals have fallen at the rate it runs; how can we give this to Samantha?"
"Don't worry, I already bought a bouquet for this day," Lucas replied.
"What?! Why did you say that now?"
"Did you ask?" Lucas inquired once more. Because of this, Kheed is shaking and scratching his head. This guy is lightning fast. He knows exactly what to do.
When the three approached the girl's room, they noticed an unfamiliar lady. "It's her mother," Lucas replied to the two's perplexed looks. "You should hear this before you enter."
The three returned to the girl's nearby room, which they had previously visited. "Mrs. Vasque agrees to introduce you as her daughter's boyfriend." It was Lucas' introduction that piqued the two's interest.
"Oh, that's great news!" Kheed exclaimed. "Yeah, but do you know how I get her to agree?"
"How?" Kheed inquired.
"It's due to the girl's true boyfriend."
"What? Why does it appear to be a mess?" Kheed was perplexed, and Luther could see his frown. "Her daughter has a boyfriend, but she agrees to let him act?" Lucas nodded. "I told you that family was strange."
"At first, I introduced myself as Samantha's boyfriend's friend in order to get into the plan, but seeing how terrified the lady was, I knew I couldn't use that tactic, so I changed the plan and used her terror on the real boyfriend to coerce cooperation with us," Lucas continues.
"She was afraid of her daughter's boyfriend?" Kheed inquired once more. "It appears to be so."
"That's strange!"
"I know, but it's useful to us because she's doing her job telling her daughter about Luther without us having to tell her; now he just has to show up and act like a boyfriend."
" That seems difficult to do," Kheed continued, shaking his head and looking at the young man who didn't care what the two were talking about.
After a while, they heard a knock on the door and spat out the lady who had been with the girl previously. She entered politely, smiled at the three, and then looked at Lucas. "You're right, my daughter doesn't remember anything, but thanks to you, I saw her smiles again!"
"Is he thankful that her daughter was run over?" Kheed asked Lucas, who was elbowed to keep quiet. "We are extremely grateful that you have agreed to our request."
The lady looked at the two men with her after Lucas said this. "Are you referring to one of them? The man who first fell for my daughter?"
The two men looked at Lucas, perplexed and unsure of what the two were talking about. "What sort of story did you tell?"
Lucas simply smiled and nodded, then approached Luther and put his arm around him, saying, " It's him."
