WHITE LYCAN'S REVENGE

CHAPTER 9 - KISS - CASSIA'S POV

It had been five days since we'd set sail. Five days of drinking the most awful drink I'd ever consumed and attempting to walk around on the ship without falling over and skimming my knees, but mercifully, today, on the sixth day, my stomach had finally settled, and according to Greyson we were nearly past the worst of the rough seas, so my mood was definitely up.

I'd never spent so much time around so many men, and I was very nervous whenever one of them approached me, but Greyson kept assuring me that they'd never hurt me, and if any of them tried, he'd kill them. To put me more at ease, he also assigned a man named Malic to guard me.

I'd begged Greyson not to, but he told me Malic was mated, and he'd never betray his mate, who happened to be Greyson's cousin, so I was putting up with.

I did enjoy Captain Jax. He was a funny man with a long gray beard, who smoked the oddest smelling cigars. He let me steer the ship for a few seconds, but I got too nervous and gave him back the wheel. The Captain always had the best stories over dinner, joking about drunken fisherman falling over the edge of the ship, and some inappropriate stories that Greyson shut down.

I was shocked to hear that Jax and his mate lived on a ship full-time, and he only ever came on Greyson's ship when Greyson needed it. I couldn't imagine living on the water all the time. I'd be throwing up forever.

These past few days, Greyson and I have been getting closer, and I couldn't help these new desires springing up inside me. I'd never been turned on, but when I saw my mate, I felt an excited buzzing in the pit of my stomach.

I was sitting near Malic on deck. After lunch, he was sketching the sailors doing various tasks. I was attempting to draw too, but I kept getting distracted by Greyson. He was shirtless and fixing some damage on one of the sails.

Malic cleared his throat, and I jumped a little and turned to him. ''Luna it helps to put the pencil on the paper if you'd like draw. I don't think staring up at the Alpha will help you get your sketch done.''

Before I could answer, I heard Greyson growl and Malic quickly turned back to his own paper, with a smirk. I gave an annoyed, embarrassed huff, and put the pad down. I reached over for the tea sitting between us, when the ship rocked, and I spilled the tea over my hand.

''Ouch!'' I gasped and pulled my hand back.

''Luna, are you okay?'' Malic grabbed my hand, but I shoved him away.

''DON'T TOUCH ME!'' I shouted in fear as I heard a loud bang on the ground.

''I'm sorry, I didn't mean to hurt you.''

''Cassia!'' Greyson rushed over and grabbed my hand, ''Are you hurt?''

''It's okay. I'll heal.''

Greyson turned ''GET ME SOME ICE!'' And a few men rushed off under deck to the kitchen.

''It's okay, really. White Lycan's heal quickly.''

''Just sit still.'' He ordered and started blowing cool air onto my hands, while I watched his face.

After a few seconds, one of the men came back with some ice in a bowl and Greyson rolled his eyes, ''How can I put ice on her hands if it's in a bowl? Why didn't you bring a towel?''

''Here.'' Andrew gave Greyson his shirt, which Greyson left on the deck.

''Thanks.'' My mate said as he put ice in it and placed it on my hand, ''Is that better?''

''Yes, thank you.'' I nodded, as he looked up into my eyes, and I could see real fear in his face, reminding me that he'd lost his last mate. He must be afraid it'll happen again.

''Hold it to your hand.''

I followed his orders, and he scooped me up.

''What are you doing?''

''You're injured, you need to rest.''

I frowned at him in amusement, ''It's just a little burn, I don't need bed rest.''

''Don't argue with your King.'' He said as one of the guards opened our bedroom door. Greyson sat me on my bed and plumped up my pillows, before he sat beside me, ''Make sure you keep the ice on your burn.''

I didn't have the heart to tell him that I felt my hand was already healed. Besides, it felt nice to have someone care for me.

''Are you in pain still?''

''I'm fine.''

''Good,'' He smiled and kissed my forehead, and my eyes fell to his chest.

''Can you get dressed please?''

Greyson looked down, ''Oh, I'm sorry.''

He quickly got off the bed and put on another shirt, ''I'll let you rest. I still have to fix the sail. Let me know if you need more ice.''

''I will, thank you.''

When he left, I sat the shirt of ice down on the bench near my bed, and examined my hand, and it was indeed fully healed.

''Being a white Lycan is helpful.'' I told Sera.

''Mate was so sexy, taking care of us,'' She said, her tail wagging excitedly, ''Let's pretend to be sick and have him hold us.''

''Stop it.''

''I want to spend time with mate.''

''Stop being crazy.'' I told her, and walked into the bathroom.

As I walked out of the bathroom a few minutes later, I saw Greyson, and jumped in fright. I hadn't expected him to be back so soon. Greyson quickly grabbed me to stop me from falling, but the ship shook again, resulting in us falling. My mate quickly spun, so I would land on top of him, and our lips met.

We both froze, and looked into each other's eyes, our hearts racing, and for the first time in my life, a man's touch didn't scare me, but I was extremely embarrassed and sat up, blushing red.

''I'm sorry I didn't do it on purpose. I didn't mean to.'' I said and pressed my hands over my mouth.

My mate sat up, his legs bent on either side of my body, and he laughed as he touched his lips. ''Well, that wasn't how I planned for our first kiss to go.'' He looked into my eyes again, but then he put his hands on my waist, ''So it would seem I need a redo.''

''A redo?'' I asked in confusion, but then he pulled me in again.

His lips found mine once more, and he kissed me gently, as his hand gripped my face. I'd never been kissed like this before, with so much care, with no pain. I shocked myself when I kissed him back, and wrapped my arms around his waist.

When I was breathing hard, Greyson leaned back and smiled, ''Are you okay?''

''Yes,'' I nodded. ''No one's ever kissed me like this before.''

''Can I kiss you again?''
