Angeles "Yeah, they just left." I said following the red Mercedes. This is what he makes me waste my time on? Following to make sure this girl gets home safe? We drove a while, "Let me know if he passed the hotel." Dad's voice came through the speakers and I sighed. As the guy passed the hotel, a small smirk grew on my lips, "Just passed the hotel." I muttered following the Mercedes as it slowly swayed. "Lights off, follow them. If they stop, get out and shoot him." He said without any hesitation. It made me wonder what the hell was so special about this girl. I watched the car quickly turn and begin to spin. I slammed on my brakes and watched the red car flip three times before laying upside down in the dirt. "Holy shit." I said low. Dad was quiet, "What happened?" He asked while I eyed the car, "The whole car just flipped. Hold on." I drove over and parked the car turning my lights on and getting out. I c****d my gun and went around to his side, his cold stare on the broken glass and his body lacking any life now. Going to the other side, I looked to the girl and watched her run her eyebrow with a small moan from pain. Her long dark hair fell to the glass covered hood and she kept blinking her eyes as blood dropped from her lip and eyebrow. She was so familiar. Reached over, I unbuckled the belt and she landed into my arms holding my arm tightly as she softly shook. I took her little purse and carried her out to my car putting her inside. She began to grow weaker before she passed out. I buckled her in and drove to her hotel, "Get whatever things are hers. Bring her home." Dad said before he hung up. I parked the car and got out taking her key and going up to the room on the key. I headed inside noticing it was practically empty. I grabbed her book bag and clothes. Then the suitcase that was under the bed. I made sure to check the entire room before I headed down the stairs and then held the key to the manager, "She's checking out." I said watching him nod "She's wearing rentals." He replied. Right, pulling my wallet out, I handed him my card, "Charge then. She won't be returning them." I said while he nodded and looked a bit worried. I put my card back and my wallet away, "She's fine." I said before heading out. I opened the trunk and tossed the things in noticing the suitcase was immensely heavy. I unzipped it and stared down at the loads of cash. What the f**k? Then I slowly reached in and grabbed out the photo, there she was, her father and mother and her at only four. That's when I first met her. Placing the photo back down, I ran my hand over the green sweater, the same one she always wore. I rubbed my chin and zipped up the suitcase before shutting the trunk. Going to the driver seat, I sat in and looked over at her unconscious self. She's alive. She's not supposed to be alive. I turned the car on and drove us home pulling into the driveway. Mom was outside giving a worried stare to me, as I parked she hurried to the door and pulled it open staring down at Faith. "Hurry and help her in. I'll get her things, your dad has them distracted." She said to me before opening the trunk. I'm guessing we have guest. I hurried and picked up Faith, carrying her inside as mom followed with the bag and suitcase. We made it up to the room beside mine and I opened the door walking with her. Mom shut and locked the door gesturing for me to lay her in the bed, "God, she looks so much like her mother." She said quietly before pulling Faiths heels off. All I saw was the small Faith with leaves in her hair and dirt on her jeans. This wasn't the Faith I remembered at all. She's supposed to be dead though. "Are there any clothes?" She asked gesturing to the suitcase. I shook my head, "It's all cash." I replied watching her stare at it a bit bothered before looking to Faith and then sighing. She went out the door leaving me with Faith. I watched her for a few minutes before she shot up from the bed and shut her eyes sitting up and touching her lip. "Fuck." She muttered. Her eyes moved to me and she stared at me for a few minutes before glaring, "You." She said coldly. I forgot how much she hated me, I can't blame her, I did a lot to make her angry, but I never hated her. I've never hated her, I've always secretly wished I could be as free and honest as she was. She never worried about what others thought, didn't try to fit in. Moms heels clicked into the room and she gave Faith a surprised look, "You're awake. Oh thank god, come with me. We'll get you changed and washed up." She said taking Faiths arm. Slowly Faith stood but she stopped and stared at her suitcase a bit sadly. Her hand ran over it before she followed mom to the bathroom and they shut the door behind them. I can't believe she's actually here, alive. Mom stepped out a moment after the shower went on, then she walked over and looked to me, "Don't tell anyone about her, they can't know until after she's been established. They can't kill her if she's established." Mom said before walking out the room. Established? I eyed the book bag and eyed the business book, I reached in and the balled up paper fell to the floor. I pulled it out and with it was a crinkled ticket for littering. It's dated for today, oh, she failed that test bad. A business major huh? I pulled out her binder and began looking at the other tests she had kept, all As, and a paper with classes needed. She had only one left till her degree. Reading over the papers, I learned a lot about her. She likes to doodle cartoons on all her worksheets, she makes a lot of lists, she's almost done with her degree and she has four hundred thousand dollars saved. I'm guessing it's all in that suitcase. "It's not nice to snoop." I felt my body freeze up as her gentle voice spoke, she had a very calming tone. Shutting the binder, I looked behind me to see her wearing moms silk pajamas. Placing the binder down, I nodded, "Just checking to see how far you've come. You a prostitute?" I asked watching her glare and shake her head, "No you i***t. What a stupid question." She moved past me and to the suitcase pulling it open. I gestured to the s**t ton of money, "The only people who keep cash like that are people who get paid to do illegal s**t. And I did pull you out of a car with a man." I pointed out while she furrowed her eyebrows. Then she glared at the money, "He would send you. Such a d**k move." She muttered, is she talking about my dad? She moved the money aside and reached down grabbing the green sweater out and pulling it on. I eyed the sweater over, "All that money and you can't buy yourself a new sweater?" I asked amused and unable to stop teasing and pissing her off. Her eyes met mine in a scold, "This sweater works perfectly fine." She said standing and crossing her arms over her chest. Right. The door opened and Vader looked inside, his eyes ran over Faith and he gave her a curious stare, "You're the girl from the other night." He said to her. She gave a small nod, Vader looked to me and then back at her, "Interesting." He said before looking her over and then walking out the door shutting it behind him. Her eyes hung over the door before she glared at me, "You look more like your mom." She said softly. I get that a lot, "Get some rest. Try not to snore too loud." I said smirking while she rolled her eyes and called me a moron. Smirking, I headed out the door, shutting it behind me. Vader leaned against the wall c*****g an eyebrow at me. I gestured for him to follow me, we went down the stairs and watched as Dad said goodbye to the guest. Then we all met in his office. Lailah walked in eyeing her nails over in disgust. I sat down beside her and dad rubbed his jaw, "Where's Carlyle?" He asked looking to us. Mom shrugged and the door opened to show Lyle walk in and shut the door. He leaned against the wall and Dad gave him a small glare. He's a punctual man. "We have a new house guest. She'll be living with us for a while, you don't need to know her story yet, or why we're taking her in. Just know she's very important to your mother and I. Her name is Faye Vera." He was staring straight at me now. I'm sure I'm the only one who knew Faith. She didn't know many people, and avoided eye contact with everyone. She always kept her head low and I don't think anyone but Holton knows who she is. I gave a nod and he looked to Lailah who leaned in excitedly, "Another girl? Oh my god yes!" She said happily. Dad cleared his throat, "You treat her with respect and treat her like family." He said before sitting down and staring at Carlyle, "You'll be teaching her to fight alongside Lailah." He said while Lyle gave a nod. He looked to mom and they held a long stare, "You're all dismissed. Except you Angeles." He said as everyone stood and left the room. I shifted uncomfortably in the chair and he lit a cigar, "You understand the importance of her safety. Right?" He asked looking to me while I gave a nod. Dad gave me a look over, "You'll be marrying her, she'll be with you for five years until she can build up her fortune. Then she'll divorce you. For your troubles, I'll hand down your half of the business early." He said it more of a demand than a request. I always saw this happening, him choosing my bride, and I figured it would be a long term thing, but this isn't. It's only five years and I get my fathers business without having to be stuck to some woman my whole life. I gave a nod and shook his hand, "I can leave the home with my fortune?" I asked while he gave another small nod shaking my hand. Finally.
