Neo was proud of himself for not being a crumbling fool. His heart was pounding in his ears and he had to force himself to look this girl in the eye.
She was so beautiful, and every time she met his gaze he nearly lost track of what he was saying.
She just looked at him, and he suddenly was afraid he was coming on too strong or that he was scaring her.
“I'm Neo, by the way," he said, his ears filling with heat.
“Aliyah," she said.
He couldn't contain the smile. What a beautiful name. He couldn't help but repeat it aloud. “Aliyah."
Neo thought he caught a hint of blush on Aliyah's cheeks.
It seemed neither of them knew what to do or say next. They just stood a couple feet apart, bodies facing one another but not meeting eyes.
“So how long are you here for?" Neo finally asked
