1 - The Mess You Made
“Stop!” Her voice pierced through the still night.   A wicked grin flashed across his face, as his eyes swept over her body. Leaning forward, slowly he put his knees on the bed and crawled towards he, like a panther moving towards his prey. The desire that has been pent up within him for months, now was ready to take all that she had to give.   “Give and take.” His voice teased her wickedly.   “No! Stop!” She begged, and jumped out from the just as his fingers brushed against her skin. .   “Come here!” He lunged forward, almost catching her hand, but she turned and ran towards the door.   Her hand flew to the door knob, turning it. She felt her body crash against the door as his large body trapped hers. His hand entwined with her fingers, peeling them off the door knob. Like a Boa Constrictor, his arms wrapped around her waist tightly, the back of her head hitting his chest.   “You think you can get away from me?” Strong arms squeezing her waist, he lifted and took his time, walking back to the bed.   You…!” Her words stopped. She forgot the next words because she was now trying with all her might, to claw her fingernails into his muscled arms. Like a needle trying to break through a steel wall.    “Inutile sforzo,” he said to her weak efforts to free herself from his arms. Laughter erupted from his lips at her elbow trying to nudge themselves into his chest.   “Not funny!” He cupped her face and pressed his lips onto hers. At the touch, her body grew still. “You are not keeping me away.” Words broke through her daze.   Opening her eyes, she saw his green eyes staring into her own. “L..Leo.”   “You are not keeping me away,” His head lowered to let his lips catch hers again..   “Mmph…” She mumbled against her lips as her hands remained trapped underneath his chest, which was pressing down onto her.   Leo’s fingers slippers slipped under her top, tickling her sides.   “No, not again, stop please.” She shouted in between tears and laughter. “Leo, stop please.” She laughed while grabbing each of his hands.   “Say it!” Leo demanded, continuing his tickling. “Otherwise, I’ll keep this up the whole night.”   “Okaaaay…I love it when you do that.”   “What?”   When she made no efforts to continue, his fingers grabbed her waist.   “Leo!” She wriggled beneath him.   “Say it.” He pinched her left waist.   “When you make love to me.” She whispered.   “Was that so hard to say?” He released her, and watched as she scrambled to the bed rest.   Mel was breathing hard, her arms around her stomach and the heat radiating all over her face. Leo’s victorious laughter echoed in the bedroom.   “You should have seen your face babe. Priceless.” His laughter continued, as he reached for her legs, but she quickly drew them close to her body.   She sat with her back resting against the bed rest, still feeling the heat on her face. Shaking her head, she thought back to what had happened moments ago. Refusing to admit to Leo what she thought about his love – making skills, was what had caused the sexy brawl between the both of them. It started with her throwing her the pillows at him, which he dodged and then tackled her on the bed. The bed sheets were now half hanging from the bed to the floor. Her wrists were still bearing the red marks left by his hands. Leo felt bad for the bruises he had caused on Mel’s hands.   “I’m sorry.” His eyes eased into puppy dog blinks at her reddened wrists. Leo shook his head. “Sometimes, I forget my own strength.”   She huffed and her breath blew a stray curl from the front of her face to the side. Crossing her arms, she gave him a pout and turned her head away. “Well, then I will have to remind you to control that hunky, big body of yours.”   A smile forced its way out and Leo made his way to her. Reaching her, he kissed the top of her head and rested his chin on it. It was all these little things about Melissa Hart, which set his heart racing. She was annoying to say the least. And she outsmarted him at the hospital and tried to kick his balls in Spain, but she was special. Any other woman, would have had it different for the tricks she tried to pull on her. Her pout, which never failed in its appearance whenever she was upset, made Leo want to kiss those puckers crazy. The way she got mad at him for trying to make love to her. She wanted it and he knew that. Leo’s arms circled around her as he lifted her into his lap. Nibbling on her ear, he pushed both their bodies down into the bed. “I’m sorry.” He whispered.   “Bad.” She spoke, lightly punching his bare chest.   “So, punish me.” He said, pulling her into a big fat kiss, slobbering all over her mouth as he rolled them over and he was now on top. His fingers were pulling up the hemline of her top.   “Eeeks, Leo!” She laughed while Leo continued to slob more wet kisses from her mouth to the chin and down to her neck.   Leo pulled her top off her head and flung the damn thing somewhere behind him. His hungry mouth headed straight for the perked up twin mounts. Mel’s eyes closed with a moan as his tongue made contact with a n****e. Mel never failed to stir his blood. She was a beautiful woman with her slender and long-limbed body. Leo was in love with her. Neither of them spoke about the commitment that Leo despised nor did they think about the uncertainty of their relationship.   Mel thought about how perfectly they fit together. “I want you,” She whispered in between moans. Her body relaxed under his, letting him have free reign over her. Her fingers ran down his back and she smiled, feeling his muscles react to her touch.   “Leo,” She whispered, opening her eyes.   No response, as he focused on the other n****e.   “Leo!”   “Mmmm…”   “Did you hear that?”   His tongue stopped and he answered, “Nope.”   “Leo, I’m serious, listen…”   Lifting his head from her chest, his eyes met hers and then darted towards the door. There was a faint scream. Immediately he sat up, with ears straining to hear. Mel sat next to him, searching for her top and she found it on the floor.   “Elena!” He confirmed, as he hurriedly reached for his gun on top of the small table, next to the bed.   Mel threw him his shirt, which he grabbed and put on, while the hand held on to the gun. He dashed for the door, with Mel behind him.   “Stay here!” Lovey-dovey Leo had disappeared and in his place, was now the Bishops’ second-in-command.   Leo opened the door with Mel following him outside the room. “Mel, stay in the room.” He pushed her inside but she put her hand on the door, preventing him from closing it on her.   “No, if it’s Ele, I want to be there.” She insisted.   Both their heads whisked in the direction of Dean’s bedroom, as another scream echoed from inside. Leo grabbed Mel’s hand and they both raced towards the room.   “Elena!” Leo banged his palm on the door.   “Did someone get to her?” Mel’s panic voice asked.   “Impossible!” Leo answered as his shoulder rammed the door.   “She’s crying. Something’s happened. Hurry, Leo!”   The door gave into Leo’s attack and opened. More than familiar with Dean’s room, Leo found the switches. The lights began flooding the room and Mel stood with eyes wide open at the sight before her.   Elena’s body was spread across the bed and her hands were clawing in the air. Her eyes were shut tightly and tears ran down her cheeks. Another scream erupted from her mouth.   “Ele! Wake up! Ele!” Mel shook Elena hard by the shoulders.   Elena’s eyes flew open, blinking at Mel. Her eyes darted from Mel to the ceiling, to the left, right and back to Mel. Her body shot up   ‘Where’s Dean?” Her scratched voice asked.   “Dean? Leo and Mel exchanged questioning looks. “Dean is in Italy.” Leo spoke as he surveyed Elena’s face.   Elena shook her head at him. “No, he’s here. And he killed Michel.”   “What?!” Mel shouted! “Ele….what happened.”   Perspiration formed on Elena’s forehead. Frantically, she searched the room and looked to and fro between Leo and Mel. Leo and Mel looked back at her with worry.   “Elena, Dean is in Italy. I spoke to him about a couple of hours ago.” Leo informed her as he tugged the gun into the back of his slacks. “I think..” Mel started as she gave her friend’s shoulder a gentle pat. “You’ve had a really bad nightmare, Ele.” Mel said, as Elena pulled the sheets around her body, being conscious of her nightie and Leo being in the room.   “Elena, what happened?” His voice was soothing and she looked at him, wishing it was Dean who was there and asking her if she was okay.   “It’s just that, after what I did back in the hospital… I’ve been feeling pretty guilty about the way I had behaved towards Dean. And I guess, I had been thinking about him a lot lately.” Elena explained herself.   “What did you dream about?” Mel asked.   “I dreamt that Dean came home. But there was blood on his forehead, face and chest. It was so freaky, Mel.” She took a deep breath. “It looked so much like him but yet it wasn’t him. And…” Elena shook her head. She grew silent as her mind pulled the images from the nightmare.   “Elena…”   Elena looked at Leo.   “It seemed so real. In the dream, Dean…he…” She paused biting her lip, “Michel’s head was, was…” She made an action with her finger slicing the neck. “And Dean threw the head at me.”   “Holy Guacomole! That’s creepy disgusting!” Mel hugged Elena. “You poor thing.”   Elena rested her elbow on a knee as her hand supported her head. Her mind was beginning to erase the horrid memory.   Leo grinned a little. If Dean had in reality, ever thought of beheading Michel Triglia, he would have supported the idea. Especially after how that sneaky bastard had instigated Elena with the pictures of Dean and Leah. Together with Dean, they were both now certain that the Triglias were venomous snakes, slithering in camouflage, waiting to spill their venom. But for this night, Leo chose not to reveal anything to the two women. These were matters for the men to deal with.   “Do you need anything…like do you want me to stay the night with you?” Mel’s worried eyes searched Elena’s.   The brunette head shook. “I’m ok, much better now, Mel.” She smiled. “And, I’m really sorry for disturbing you guys.” She apologized to Mel and glanced at Leo.   “C’mon Elena, we are family.” Leo smiled at her. He had seen many changes in her since the discharge from the hospital. In Dean’s absence, she seemed broken and vulnerable. Most of the time, there was a lonely gloom that would strike her face. When Dean’s name was mentioned by the other Bishops, she would turn her attention towards them and her eyes would start searching the room. Several times, Leo had caught Elena being lost in her own thoughts as the chatterbox in Mel kept on rattling about everything under the French skies. She had surprised him when she announced to her parents-in-law that she was moving into Dean’s room for good. She had also conspicuously lingered around each time he or somebody else in the house was on the phone with Dean, hoping to hear of his return or if he wanted to speak to her.   “Elena, did you ever call Dean during this time?” Leo questioned her. “The mobile that I gave you… it has all of our numbers. Why don’t you call and find out how’s he doing?”   Biting down on her lip, she shook her head. “I don’t think I should. I don’t want to upset him more than he already is with me.”   “Leo, how has Dean been?” Mel asked. He’s got a lot of things to deal with right now. The business and stuff back at home…” Leo answered, throwing a glance in Elena’s direction.   “Gee, it must be so tough on him, isn’t it.” Mel sighed.   “Of course! Leo added immediately. “I mean he is a Bishop son and the sole responsibility of bearing the entire Bishop Empire is his shoulders. I’m sure the guy could use some family support right now.” Leo stated as Mel and he averted their gazes to Elena.   They knew she was listening intently, letting every word they said, sink into her.   “Get some sleep, Ele. We’ll talk in the morning, okay?” Mel tucked a stray hair behind Elena’s ear.   “Good night, Elena.” Leo smiled down at her.   “Yeah night. Thanks again you two.” Elena watched as Leo and Mel closed the door behind them.   She turned to the side table and picked up the iPhone. She pressed its home screen button and touched the phone icon. In contacts, she scrolled under D. A smile formed as she noted that the contact name was saved as “Dean Darling”, which she attributed to the work of Mel.       “What are you doing?” Leo asked as Mel pressed her ear onto the door of Dean’s bedroom.   “Sssh! I’m trying to hear if Ele is calling Dean. Do you think she got our hint?” “I’m quite sure she did. Whether she wants to call him or not, that’s for her to figure out. Leave her alone, babe.”   “Oh, but I want her to call Dean and tell him how much she misses him. Did you see her face for the past weeks? That’s not Ele. And she had lost so much of weight.”   Leo shrugged his shoulders and spun Mel around to face him. “Listen here. These are stuff that both Dean and Elena should be working out between themselves. We can help a little here and there. Leave them be. Knowing Dean, I know he will figure out something, sooner or later.   “But…but.. didn’t you notice how heart-broken Ele’s been all this while without Dean around? Why didn’t you tell Dean about her anyway? You guys speak to each other, like practically several times in a day.” The pout made its appearance again.   Leo sighed. He took one long look at her and an evil grin spread across his face. Without warning, Leo hauled Mel on his shoulders.   “Leo Sangria, what in the world do you think you are doing? Put me down!”   SMACK!   “Oh my god! You so did not just spank me.” Mel punched his back.   SMACK!   “Leeeeeeooo!”     Elena sat in the dark and unable to sleep. She heard Mel shouting Leo’s name outside her door and knew instantly they were in one of their several lovers’ spats which reminded her of her own bickering with Dean several times.   She hugged the pillow to her chest tightly, grateful that Dean was really okay and had not turned psycho. Her mind replayed the conversation between Leo and Mel earlier. “The guy could use some family support right now.” Leo had said so. She knew it was meant for her. Instead of standing by Dean’s side and giving him all of her love and support as a good wife should, she had been throwing tantrums and accusations at him.   Elena ran her fingers through her hair. It was sticky and dry. Looking up at her reflection into the mirror in front of her, she saw the dark patches around her eyes.   “This is not the woman Dean married.” She said to her reflection which looked back at her in puzzlement. Her heart has been longing for her husband, the one she chases away. Biting down on her lip, she tried to remember the sound of his voice – demanding, confident and deep. Leo had encouraged her to call Dean. Her fingers froze at the thought of calling him.   What if he slams down the phone on me? Dean’s temper…   The thought of being rejected and slammed upon was a bit much for her tired brain right now. Way too many thoughts have been running a marathon in that brain of hers. Elena looked at her phone and an inner voice told her to pick up the damn phone and end this damn misery you’ve put yourself into.   Her eyes drifted to the phone and stared at it with a question and fear…
