Party

Raven, Olivia, and the rest of the group followed Blake. As he gave them a tour of the place. Their final destination was a bonquet hall. This is where we will hold tomorrow night's masquerade. Mr. Jax wants you all to have a relaxing weekend. And be prepared for Monday morning. Dinner will be served at six, if anyone's hungry. Other than that, enjoy the rest of your day. The group dispersed and headed back to their rooms. Olivia linked her arm with Raven's. The two headed toward a set of elevators. You know we are getting wasted tomorrow? " Olivia asked. Yeah sure," Raven responded. With very little enthusiasm. Olivia noticed immediately. Pulling back a little. To get a better view, she looked at her with concern. Is something wrong? Nah. Raven said hesitantly. Olivia decided to leave it alone. Reaching their floor, the two parted ways. Later that night, Raven decided a hot bath would relieve some tension. She was still shaken by the dream on the plane. It felt so real. Turning on the water, she went back into the bedroom. Sitting on the bed, she listened to her voicemails. Taking note of those of importance. She erased the rest. By this time, the tub had filled up. Scented bubbles nearly overflowing, she dimmed the lights. Grabbing a little bottle of champagne and a glass. She turned on some soft music. Disrobbing, she climbed in. A sigh left her lips, as she slowly submerged herself beneath the foamy wonder. Settling back against a pillow, she sipped at the fruity drink. Placing the glass in the holder, she once more leaned back and relaxed. The hint of champagne in her system and the warmth of the water. She became drowsy almost instantly. Her eyes began to flutter open and closed, as she tried to fight sleep. Eyes fluttering once more and she was out. For a moment her face relaxed as she drifted off. After a while, her features took on a tortured look. Raven was walking through a cave that seemed oddly familiar. She had a feeling of impending doom. Yet she couldn't turn away. Hearing movement in the deep recesses of the cave. She paused and listened. After a while, nothing happened. She started moving again. When she was within several feet of the back of the cave, she heard a loud growl. Heart thumping, she took an involuntary step back. She sensed danger, but couldn't move any further. It was like her body froze to the spot. Breath coming out in shallow puffs. She tried focusing on the dark recesses of the cave. Eyes slowly adjusting to the dark. She could make out a pair of eyes. Her mind cried oh no! It was those same eyes again. Pitch black, but she noticed something she hadn't before. In the dead center was a pair of silver dilated pupils. The eyes focused on her with such intensity. Suddenly the beast sprung out of the dark toward her. Letting out a scream, she covered her face. Thump, her body sounded as she landed on the ground. Laying there shocked, she sighed with relief. With her heart still racing. She chuckled at herself. "It was only a dream," she said out loud. Suddenly, her eyes grew wide. How the hell had she gotten into bed? She could've sworn she was in the tub. Looking around the room, she felt vulnerable. Trying hard to shake off the feeling. She noticed the side table clock read midnight. Which was crazy. She'd been born at exactly midnight, twenty-one years ago. The rest of the day went by uneventfully. The evening was fast approaching. Soon it would be time to get ready for the masquerade. Raven and Olivia needed to do some last-minute shopping. They'd come across a fancy costume shop. Going inside, they made their way around the store. Separating to cover more ground. Raven spotted a mask almost immediately. Black lace with silver rhinestone. It would go perfectly with her gown, she thought. After that, she went in search of Olivia. After a few minutes, she spotted her. Raven noticed she was talking on the phone. But she had her back toward Raven. And so Olivia didn't notice her walking up behind her. " She's here with me." She'd heard her say to someone on the phone. Raven gently placed her hands on her shoulders, so as not to alarm her. Momentarily, Olivia stiffened, and turned around. When their eyes connected, Raven could have sworn she saw a fleeting look of guilt. But it was quickly replaced with a smile. "She's back, gotta go. " Olivia said into the phone. You mean m? Olivia covered her heart with her hand. "Sorry, Raven said." " I didnn't want to interrupt your call." "It's okay, said Olivia." "Did you find anything," asked Raven?" Olivia held up a white silk-looking mask. "Lovely, said Raven." After paying for their finds, they headed back to get ready. An hour later, they pulled back up to the resort. They still had a few hours before the event would begin. Olivia had just showered. As she was walking out the bathroom, she heard a soft thud. The sound came from next door, at Raven's. Walking quietly over, she placed her ear against the adjacent door. Hearing nothing else, she knocked softly. And called out to her. Nothing, knocking louder. Raven?! "Are you alright in there?" Still no answer. Running to her nightstand table, she retrieved a key. It was a spear key Raven had given her. Quickly unlocking the door, she gasped. Raven lay face down on her bed. Olivia raced to her side. RAVEN?! She cried. She shook her roughly. Raven instantly began to stir. Olivia sighed a breath of relief. Raven struggled to sit up. Olivia helped her. Turning over, Raven slowly began to sit up while grabbing her head. It feels like I've been hit by a train. Olivia went over to her bedside table and pulled out some pain medicine. She sat there with Raven for a minute before asking, "Are you still up for this event?" Raven nodded her head. "The headache is slowly starting to go away." Not sure what happened actually." One minute I was walking around, the next you're beside me. Olivia walked over to the mini fridge and handed her a bottle of water. Raven gulped greedily. Allowing a little to dribble down her lips. Suddenly she felt so thirsty. She sat there with Raven for a moment, making sure she was okay. Standing up, Raven announced that she was about to get ready. A couple of hours later, the two of them made their way downstairs. Raven, Olivia and a hand full of the guests were introduced. As they entered the room, it felt like they had stepped back in time. The hall had a saloon feel to it. Upon entry, to the left were several rows of old western chairs and tables. Down the middle was a dance floor that seemed to be able to hold at least several hundred people. And to the right was a bar. The room was filled with guests. Raven assumed most were investors and what not. Her and Olivia were introduced to the party by the hostee. After that, they were escorted to assigned seating by a male staff member. Shortly after, Blaked walked up with two champagne flutes atop a silver tray. May I offer you two lovely ladies a drink? "Yes please, Olivia said as she smiled up at him "." Thank you, Raven said casually." As she reached over for one of the flutes. Not long after, the champagne hit their system. Ravens were on the dance floor, dancing with each other. Abel sat in the back, watching the scene. Looking over at the clock. It was almost midnight. Soon it'll be your twenty-first birthday. Raven thought to herself. Olivia noticed and looked also. She started counting the seconds. Ten, nine, eight, seven... Suddenly, the music stopped and Mr. Jax was introduced. Slowly he strolled onto the stage, with an air of confidence. All eyes were on him. He exuded a confidence that made everyone pay attention. Even men couldn't keep their eyes off of him. The room quieted down and he spoke. Six, five, four, three... I'd like to thank all those in attendance. For taking time out of your busy schedule for this event. This is to welcome you to our team. And I know we'll make this great... Three, two, one... All of a sudden, Raven could hear her heartbeat in her ears. She grabbed her head. "Raven?! She saw Olivia's mouth moving, but couldn't hear her. A splitting headache started out of the blue. Unlike the pain before, this was more intense. Dropping to her knees, she cried out in pain. This pain was blinding. To add to her misery, suddenly her body felt like it was on fire. Finding it hard to breathe, she blacked out.
