Chapter 36:
I blinked and my eyes opened when I felt arms lift me into the air. Jared looked down at me with worry. Luckily I could still feel the mate bond and the sparks from contact with him.
“What happened Emerald? Are you okay?” Jared asked while carrying me inside the pack house and towards the pack hospital.
“I am fine, I think.” My voice sounded raspy like my vocal cords hadn’t been used in months. “Jade left me to go to the moon. She said she will be back as soon as possible, that she had an idea how to fight the war coming our way but she needed to consult her files on the moon.” I tried to answer to the best of my ability but I felt so dang tired.
“Why did she need to leave? You are left defenseless while she is gone, now is not the time for you to be without your wolf.” Ja
