CHAPTER 4: BLIND

*****ROOM 57*****

Rainer had woken up from her short nap long ago and was now reading a book that was in brail when she heard the door nub turn, someone was trying to open it. The door was locked from the inside so the person could only open it if they had the extra key or also practiced black magic like she did but she was the only one who practiced black magic in the academy and no one has the extra key to the room but to her surprise she heard a sound like the door was opened using a key, she did not ponder on it for too long as she immediately remembered that her new roommate would be arriving today. Clara opened the door with the key that was given to her by the dorm mistress, miss Diane. She was super excited to meet her new roommate since she was told she would be having one. The door opened and she walked in but stopped to take a look at the room. It was big but she didn't like how everything in it was either black or red, the room was giving out a creepy vibe as it was dimly lit up with just a candle, she looked around and found the light switch. She immediately turned it on and the room was now completely bright. She almost screamed out her lungs when she saw Red starring at her with his bright red eyes, Rainer was also looking in her direction "What the heck is this creepy raven doing in my room" Clara thought in her mind "Correction it's our room" Rainer said coldly and it was at moment that Rainer realized that she wasn't the only person in the room, she also realized that this girl, who's name she is yet to know could read minds "Oh hi there, my is Claramond Harper, Clara for short, what's your name?" Clara asked cheerfully while taking a good look at Rainer. Rainer just wanted to ignore Clara but judging from her personality she knew Clara would persist, "Rainer" Rainer answered coldly "It's nice meeting you, do you mind if I call you Rain for short?" Clara asked but Rainer ignored her and resumed reading the book she was with when Clara entered the room "He-llo, I asked you a question, and what's with the blindfold are you blind or something, or is just your style and why is the room painted red and black, don't you find it too creepy and why..." Clara was cut off by the loud sound of Rainer closing the book she was reading in anger. She only just got here and hasn't even been here for about an hour but Clara was already beginning to annoy her. She (Rainer) stood up from her bed and walked out of the room angrily "She has one hell of a bad temper" Clara muttered "Let me do the honor of answering your questions young lady" Red said startling Clara "Who said that?" she asked somewhat fearfully "The bird" Red said and Clara turned and faced him sharply."wait you speak?"Clara asked "to answer your first question I would advise you not to shorten the mistresses name, she hates it when people do"Red said and Clara mouthed an "oh" "about the blindfold you can say that the mistress is blind but not completely blind but not totally blind"Red answered "the room is painted black and red because the mistress fancies those two colors although she prefers black to red ... any other question ?"Red asked "umm..." Clara said thinking for a while "no not yet but I will be sure to let you know if I have any more questions"Clara says. "make your self comfortable at your corner and try not to invade the misstress privacy and do not be too loud, the mistress hates distraction" Red said "Okay but we're definitely gonna do something about the color, why don't we try something like pink" Clara said "Wait no pink would be too childish, so how about yellow" Clara asked "That would be too bright, how about purple" Red suggested, unlike his misstress Rainer who hated Clara's positive energy he was quite the opposite he loved the energy this girl was giving "Nah!!!, purple is too... I don't even know how to describe it" "How about sky blue?" Clara suggested "What's your deal with bright colors?" Red asked "And what's your deal with dark colors" Clara answered with a question "You know what, paint your own half of the room what ever color you want, but misstresss part remains black" Red said "Fine be me" Clara said and glaces around the room "Wait which part is mine the right side or the left side" Clara said "The left side is definitely ours" Red said and Clara gasped "But all of the cool features of the room are on the right side, even the balcony. What does a blind girl want with the view of a balcony" Clara said but used her hand to cover her mouth when she realized that what she just said sounded kind of rude and insultive "It's going to be entertaining having this loud mouth around" Red said "Hey who are you calling a loud mouth?" Clara yelled but she wasn't angry "But wait I don't have magic so how am I to change the color of my half of the room?" Clara asked no one in particular and to her shock the whole of her side turned yellow including the bedsheets, duvet, chairs and all other things that were once red while the other half of the room remained black "All done" Red said "You can cast spells too?" Clara asked "Only basic ones" Red said "Cool!!!" Clara exclaimed "But I think I would prefer Red but a brighter shade than the one that was once there" Clara said and Red sighed as he changed the color back to red but a brighter shade as she requested "Thank you" she said as she rushed over to her side of the room and began unpacking her things while Red flew out to find his misstress. After unpacking and arranging her room, Clara lays down on her bed and calls her mom as promised.
