Her Eyes Turned Red
Rushing its wheels on the wet asphalt, the tinted limousine stopped under the bridge and drove up to the man waiting for him, momentarily illuminating the downed figure in the darkness of the night.
Having drawn a line of a burning semicircle in the air, the cigarette fell to the ground and went out, getting wet in the autumn rain. The man opened the door and climbed inside, positioning himself opposite his interlocutor and throwing back his hood.
And if his self-confidence had been reduced even a fraction, he would have cowered under the pressure of the Force emanating from this lycan. Even its pungent smell filled the nostrils, signaling danger, and trying to awaken all the instincts and the feeling of fear, not least of all. But he had nothing to fear, at least not yet.
“Did you find her?” the interlocutor asked in a low, hoarse voice.
“Yes.”
“Well done,” he said, stretching out a smile that looked more like an ominous grin. “I was not mistaken about you. When?”
“We are leaving in two hours. If everything goes well, you will have her tomorrow.”
“Wonderful. And it’s in your best interests to make sure everything turns out well, otherwise... you shouldn’t come back... Unless, of course, you remain alive after meeting her.”
“I understand,” the man answered confidently, nevertheless feeling a short surge of fear. He knew his interlocutor too well not to understand the seriousness and threat of his warning, visible both in his voice and in the cold eyes from which the crazed and most dangerous beast he had ever met looked at him.
And this beast had Strength and Power in his hands - a hellish mixture capable of subduing even the most rebellious lycans.
* * *
In Room 1206 of the Forest Hotel, the dark room suddenly flashed with light from the screen, and a bell rang, waking up the woman who was sleeping soundly. The woman mumbled a few words, groped for the phone in a daze, and squinted her eyes to answer the call.
“Sarah, you bastard!”
A woman's cursing voice was coming from the other side of the phone. The noise made her frown, she mumbled something, put the phone aside, and fell asleep.
“Sarah, you bastard, we agreed to go on a trip together, why did you run away alone behind my back...” The sound on the other end of the phone was endless, and the snoring on the other end of the phone was still there.
Early the next morning, Sarah woke up from her dream with a rapid knock on the door. She frowned and cursed impatiently at the door: "Who is it? Damn it, it's so noisy!"
“Sarah, get out of here!”
The knocking on the door intensified as if she was banging on the door with her fist. Hearing the woman's voice, Leah, who was originally confused, suddenly woke up, got out of bed, and opened the door.
“Kate…”
"How beautiful is it? Look at what this is. Leah, you are so good. We agreed to come together, but you came behind my back. It's so embarrassing!" As soon as the door opened, the human girl pushed her aside without saying a word and ran in. She sat on the bed angrily and threw the plane tickets they had booked long ago.
Sarah closed the door, rubbed her hair, held back a yawn, walked to her side, and looked at her with lowered eyes. The person venting her anger on her was none other than her best friend Kate. The two of them had made an appointment to take a long vacation after the last operation, but it was Sarah White who suddenly changed her mind and let her go.
“Kate, listen to me...”
“Go ahead and let me hear what you are going to say!” Kate crossed her arms across her chest, raised her head, and looked at her without blinking as if she knew she couldn't find an excuse. After working for thirty-six hours in a row, Sarah couldn't help but yawn as she didn't feel tired after sleeping all night.
At this moment, Kate almost jumped up with anger. " Sarah, why are you always so confused and careless? Oh, I surrendered to myself. How could I be friends with you? I owe you in my previous life!" After she said this, she dragged Sarah to the bed and curled her lips helplessly.
“It’s cold on the ground and you’re wearing so little, so you’re not afraid that you won’t be able to have children if something goes wrong with the ice!”
“What should I be afraid of when you are here?” Sarah laughed naively, stuck out her tongue at Kate, and lay on the bed obediently, listening to her nagging. When her eyes turned away, the smile on her face froze slightly. She didn't mean to let her go. She came here in advance because of a strange phone call and a strange man.
After a thirty-six-hour mission, both of them fell asleep. They slept in a deep sleep until they woke up from hunger, and Leah was ready to get up. Looking at Kate, who was sleeping soundly next to her, Leah pursed her lips and smiled. But not long after, she seemed to think of something again. She took her mobile phone, turned to the unfamiliar number again, and dialed it.
"Hello, the number you dialed is unavailable..." Still, like this, since she made a call from this number, she had never received a call again. She only remembers the man's voice and what he said clearly. Looking at the time at 10 am, she briefly freshened up and put on clothes. Sarah was ready to go out to the restaurant.
Looking at the elevator just going down, Leah took out her cell phone out of boredom and looked through the call history over and over again, her brows furrowed and she didn't look relaxed at all. She didn’t know if it was because there were few people or the hotel room was not soundproofed well, but she could always vaguely hear women’s laughter.
She sighed helplessly, put on her headphones, and started listening to the song, but before locking the screen, she still stayed on the phone interface. Forest Hotel was one of her favorite hotels because it contains the hard work of her parents. It belonged to her pack before, but now someone snatched it. And she didn’t know about that mysterious man.
Standing outside the hotel, looking back at the carvings on the exterior wall, her eyes turned red. 'That’s my mother’s design.'
