Confession

Lilly's POV:

I sat on the bed in my room crossed legged, a lot of crazy thoughts running through my head. My head felt like it would explode at any moment. A knock on the door brought me back to reality.

"Come in" i said.

The door opened and Anna peeped through, she smiled and opened the door wide revealing Luke and Jason. "Hey" she said seating down beside me.

"Hi" i said with a small smile.

She hugged me tight "Oh Lilly! I heard what happened, i'm so sorry" it took me a minute to realize she was referring to the club incident, what was on my mind seemed much bigger.

"I'm fine" i said, my voice sounded dry.

"I'm glad you are. We are all rather fond of your pretty face" Luke said as he hugged me.

"I'm glad you're okay" Jason said with a warm smile.

We spoke for a while and they all left, each having duties and all. I was left alone until Eric came along, the sad smile that he gave me made me burst into tears, he hugged me until i stopped crying. "I miss Emily" i said.

"I know you do but i am here for you" he said to me.

I pulled away away and looked at him, he was smiling mischievously "come on! Talk to Eric, your bff"

I giggled at that "ok but i am going to swear you to secrecy" i told him.

"Alright. Dish!" He urged.

I nodded and exhaled harshly "i kissed Alex last night" i told him.

He was clearly shocked by what i just said. "He kissed you, right?"

"No.. i kissed him but it was right after the whole incident and i wasn't in my senses but i kissed him" i told him feeling frustrated for the ten thousandth time today. He was quiet, obviously not knowing what to say. "Yeah... and we kissed again today" i told him.

"What does that mean?" He asked carefully.

"I don't know what it means Eric, maybe i should just call Emily" i said with a sigh.

"No no.. ok wait" he said seating up properly. "Who initiated the second kiss?"

"He did but I didn't stop him" i said blushing a little bit.

"Is it possible that you like him too?" He asked me.

I jerked back a bit "too?" I asked.

"What?"

"You said.. like him too. Did he tell you anything?" I asked cautiously.

"Lilly you have to be blind not to see how crazy about you he is. Yesterday after he brought you home he wouldn't let you come back to your room, he sat by your side all night long" he explained.

My heart did a backflip. I didn't know it was possible for me to feel this way "that doesn't prove anything" i mumbled.

He sighed. "What will prove it to you? Lilly you must have noticed how you have had the most effect on him out of all the other ladies." He argued.

"Well yeah because i push his buttons" i retorted.

He shook his head, definitely feeling aggravated. "You are impossible! I have been best friends with Alex since birth and i can tell you this, he has never felt the way he feels for you for any other girl"

I shook my head "you weren't there when i told him what i told him today" i felt the tears coming back but suppressed them hard.

Alex's POV:

I am an i***t! I am an i***t. I am jealous of a dead man.. a dead man!! How do i fix what i just did? There she sat pouring her heart out to me, telling the one that has always held her back, the one reasons she built this many walls around her heart but all i could do was to hug her and leave.

I wasn't even sure i was the one who did that but God! The way she talked about him, i don't have a shot with her. She can't love me the way she loved him, heck she can't love me the way i love her!

I couldn't concentrate on this meeting. I was trying but my mind kept wandering off. "Your highness" the head of security called my attention.

"Yes?" I jolted back to reality.

"What do you think we should do?" He asked.

"About what?" I asked a little bit embarrassed that i wasn't paying attention.

He looked embarrassed for me too "i was asking if you think personal security for the ladies is a good idea" he said.

I thought about it for a second "yes, that is a good start while this threat is still unresolved"

"But the truth is what happened last night might not even be connected to that threat. For all we know that threat isn't even real!" Lord Edmond argued.

"Real or not, someone tried to hurt one of my ladies last night. So the security is very important" i shot back at him.

"The keeper's of Arindele as they call themselves is a group of crazy fanatics, we cannot risk the safety of any of these ladies. Real threats or not, the precaution wouldn't hurt" the head of security reasoned.

"Agreed. Beside we can't risk a repeat of what happened yesterday, we contained all the media but it wasn't easy getting all the photographs back and there are still rumors going around" Ursula, the head publicist said.

"You are awfully quiet sir, do you have anything to add before we adjoin" Ursula asked the royal advisor, Sasha's father.

"I think everything is in order" he said plainly.

"Ok great" i said getting up. I didn't wait for anything or anyone before i left the room.

I went straight to the ladies quarters to talk to her. It was just to my luck that i ran into Ruby in the living room. "Hey honey" she called batting her lashes.

"Hi Ruby" i said back with a small smile.

"I feel like i haven't seen you all week, even yesterday i only saw you for a bit before the whole incident" she said incident with so much hatred behind it.

"Yeah.. it has been a crazy week" i said with a sigh.

"Yeah, are you here to see me?" She asked seductively.

I cringed a bit "actually i am here to check on Lilly, have you girls been to see how she's doing?" I asked her.

She looked away briefly trying to come up with a lie from the looks of it "yeah.."

"Come on Ruby, she went through something terrible last night and she could use some friendly faces right now" i told her calmly. I really wanted to put an end to this hostility between them.

She looked at me with contempt, no doubt for what i just said. "Yeah right!" she snorted.

"Seriously Ruby this has to stop! She was attacked last night and it shows good teamwork on your part if you help her get through this"

"Pfft! If you ask me, she asked for it and i will not be in there kissing her ass just because you disrespectfully favor her over the rest of us" she shot at me.

I stared at her with shock, she has never spoken to me like this before "Ok, now listen up Ruby! I understand that you don't like Lilly and you somehow got to believing that i favor her over everybody else but you will never talk to me like that again if you want to keep being in running of being queen" i didn't wait for a reply.

I knocked twice on Lilly's door before i entered. She was talking to Eric and they stopped the moment i came in. "Hey" i said.

"Hey man" Eric nodded at me. I looked at Lilly and she looked away, she is mad at me, definitely!

"Can i have a minute with Lady Lilliana?" I asked him.

He snorted and got up. "Goodluck" he said patting my back before her left the room.

"Lilly" i called.

She looked at me coldly "your highness" her voice was flat.

I sat by the dresser and faced her "Lilly.. i am an i***t for reacting the way i did earlier. I didn't know how to react and somehow i reacted in the worst possible way" i spoke from the heart because if by some miracle she decides to give me a chance i would want for us to build a relationship based on honesty.

She shuffled in her seat while remaining quiet. "I asked about it and at the moment you were telling me i thought to myself 'wow! I shouldn't have asked' but i promise you i don't regret knowing" i continued talking " I am very sorry for what you had to go through, i am very sorry you lost the love of your life but i am glad you told me about it because it means that your walls are slowly coming down and that gives me hope"

"I want to tell you something but you have to promise me you won't freak out." I said hopefully.

She nodded and looked at me intently. "Promise?"

"Promise" she agreed.

I inhaled deeply and let it out all at a go. "I am.. i am in love with you" i blurted out before i change my mind and cower away.

She stared at me, with her mouth agape and her eyes slightly widened. "You don't have to say anything" i stoped her from talking.

"I know the last thing you want is to feel like you are betraying him. I don't know if you will ever reciprocate the feelings i have for you but i hope you can try because Lilliana i love you in a sappy i can't sleep, cant eat, can't seem to get you out of my mind.. in a makes me want to scream it to the world kind of way. I never been in love but moment i set my eyes on you i knew you were different, i knew you got under my skin for a reason and now i know why"

I shook my head and summoned all my courage to say this "I want you to give me a chance Lilly because i would make you happy.. however, if you can't imagine yourself liking me back even for a slight second then i will not impose on you and.. and i will let you go home."

She stared at me quietly, i held my breath waiting to her reply. We sat in silence for what seemed like forever "can i think about it?" She asked in a whisper.

I nodded and shot her a hopeful smile. I got on my and strode towards her, i leaned down to her sitting level and kissed her forehead, i could hear her breath hitching, i was glad i had at least a little impact on her.

I strode out, i was about to let myself out when she called out "Alex." I turned in a heartbeat. She smiled shyly "i have thought about it"

I froze "yeah..?" I chocked out.

She closed her eyes and let out a shaky breath before she looked at me again and smile "i want to give this a try"

Before she could say anything else i was at the foot of her bed, i knelt down in front of her so we were at an eye level "what did you just say?" I asked, not quite believing my ears.

She smiled and looked down coyly "i like you and i want to give this a try" she whispered through the air.

I let out an excited chortle "oh God!" I couldn't believe how easy that was, i expected her to opt for the second option but she said she likes me.

"Are you sure?" I asked. Before she could talk i spoke again "wait what? Look at me, i should be giving you space to change you mind! But are you sure?" I asked again.

She giggled, it was so melodious to my ears. "Yes! I am sure" she said.

The next thing i knew were my hands taking her face and my lips capturing hers in the most heartfelt kiss i have ever had. God! I love her.
