Chapter Three "Hey! Snap it out, weirdo” says Mason snapping his finger at Annabelle. "Who are you and what do you want from me?" Says Annabelle slowly opening her eyes and wiping her forehead. Her head kind of hurt, she couldn't comprehend everything going on around her. “Finally, welcome back to reality weirdo," says Mason. "Will you stop calling me that, my name is Annabelle," Annabelle says furiously. Annabelle glared at Mason, who was standing between her and the open door of the car. “I won't stop calling you weirdo, Annabelle weirdo," says Mason, mocking her as he just scoffed and turned his back. Annabelle grabbed her bag and got out of the car. She was shocked when she saw the huge mansion in front of her. Annabelle knew her family weren't as rich as this and their house was not as huge as the house in front of her, it was twice larger than her house. "Is this where you live? Tell me more about you. Why did you choose to keep on with the marriage despite knowing I am not your supposed bride?" Annabelle kept asking Mason questions nonstop. “This is my mansion, our family are rich, billionaires by birth and successful business owners in California, but why are you salivating?” says Mason, mocking Annabelle. Annabelle Annabelle wiped her mouth and glared at Mason as she realized he was just teasing her. She found him smirking like a complete weirdo while looking at her face. “Shut up!” says Annabelle. Mason just smirked again and started walking towards the entry. Annabelle followed him while having a hard time walking because of her heavy wedding gown. Meanwhile, across the southern part of the wedding venue, Mary walked down the aisle, her face in confusion as the man she saw standing and waiting for her wasn't Mason. Her gown was making her even more uncomfortable. Why did I even choose this gown?" Says Mary, speaking to herself quietly. Getting down the aisle, she discovered the man standing in front of her was not Mason, and she gave a low scream, “Ah! Who are you? Where is Mason, and what are you doing here?" "Mr. Anthony, not Mason," says Dan, the representative. "Who is Mr. Anthony?" asked Mary. "Look, let's not waste time, we are behind schedule," says Dan. "Let's discuss this later."Mary was now more confused than before but she kept her cool to see the end of the drama. The pastor begins with the ceremony reading out the vows to them as they both repeat the vows. "On behalf of Mr Anthony, I accept you, Annabelle, as his wife." Mary became furiously, she opened her veil forcefully and threw the flower from her hands, "What do you mean on behalf of Mr Anthony and who the hell is Annabelle?" The crowd were shocked and all rose after discovering the bride wasn't Annabelle. Mr. Anthony who was watching from his Apple MacBook from his estate became furious. He hit the table almost throwing down the laptop. Mary left the wedding angrily and furious, seeking answers as to what was happening. Back at Mason's mansion, Annabelle was walking tiredly, her heel made her unease. Mason, she could not walk properly and he tried to lift her. “What are you doing?” asked Annabelle. “You look tired and uncomfortable in those heels, I’m carrying you because you’re walking like a snail," says Mason. Annabelle stares at Mason curiously, “That’s because the wedding gown is heavy on me.” “You chose it yourself!” Mason sarcastically rolled his eyes and continued walking, dropping her on the couch as they entered the living room. Annabelle noticed the hugely well-decorated room, the paintings on the wall were original and cost a lot of fortune. “Am I supposed to thank you for carrying me?” asks Annabelle. Mason groaned, "Are you always this crazy? You better accept me as your husband now, weirdo.” “Crazy husband, you are the weirdo," Annabelle looked at Mason with eyes filled with love. Mason looked at her with his eyes fixed on hers. He could see the pain behind those shining eyes but Annabelle is so good at hiding away her pains. Mason approaches her, looking at her lips and almost kissing her, suddenly, the door bangs open and a lady rushes in furrowing. "Mason, what the hell are you doing?" Mary angrily asked. "Are you cheating on me on our wedding day?" She added. Mason and Annabelle were startled, looking confused. Mason hurriedly stood up from Annabelle. "Wait, Mary, it is not what you think!" Mason says as he tries approaching Mary."Don’t you dare lie to me! Mason” says Mary. "Mary, I can explain," Mason tried to hold Mary's hands. "Please let me explain."Mary quickly moved away from Mason, avoiding any contact with him, "And who is that woman over there? She pointed towards Annabelle. "Wait, were you going to ditch me and marry someone else?" "Wait, what?" Mason sounded confused, his voice sounding with fear. "No no no. There was a misunderstanding," says Mason."What misunderstanding, Mason," asks Mary. "It is over between us." Mary walks away as Mason tries to hold on to her. She left the house, slamming the door very hard. Annabelle, sat on the couch, watching as all the drama between Mason and Mary unfolded. She just sighed and roamed her eyes around, looking unconcerned by what just happened. The house is huge and elegant. She wonders what Mason's occupation is and from his looks, she assumes he’s a businessman. She feels to trust her instinct which she believes is right, then she must have read his last name on the ID they exchanged earlier. Mason looked at her angrily, "What is wrong with you, you don't even give a damn about what just happened." “Why are you lashing out at me? I did not do anything, Mason.” “Yes, you did! If you had not missed your address and came crashing my wedding, all this wouldn't have happened!” says Mason. Annabelle stood up from where she was sitting, “Oh please! Spare me that, I didn't crash your wedding," Annabelle sounded furious. "if she wants to marry you, she shouldn’t have run away on your wedding day! And aren’t you happy? You got a substitute bride there.” Mason looks at Annabelle Annabelle with great a, "Are you nuts?" Says Mason. "Aren't you the one who changed the address?" Annabelle's forehead creased as she looked at Mason angrily. She was looking at him as if checking him out. She shot an eyebrow up and looked at him blankly. She did not care if she was the reason for his misery or not. It didn't bother her nor was she ready to apologise. Meanwhile, Mr Anthony called Annabele's Father, Mr Johnson, "Well, Mr Johnson, I think you find me a joke to you right?" Says Mr. Anthony. "Mr. Anthony, I am truly sorry for the misunderstanding," says Mr Johnson. "I will speak to my daughter and resolve whatever misunderstanding that arises." "I am giving you 48 hours to bring me your daughter as my bride," Mr. Anthony hangs the call. Mr Johnson sighs heavily, rubbing his forehead as if having a severe headache. He looks confused and wonders where in the world his daughter is. Annabelle rolled her eyes and turned her back from Mason, trying to walk away from him.“Annabele, come back here, were are you going?” Mason asked as he tried to stop Annabelle from walking out of him. Annabelle covered her ears and looked at Mason when he shouted so loud. His face and neck were red and his blue eyes were blazing. He looked extremely angry but Annabelle completely ignored him. "Hey, weirdo! “You might want to answer your call,” said Mason, looking at his accidental bride. Annabelle looked at Mason with an angry face. Her face was scary but strange, but Mason was not scared at all. “Who is calling me?” Annabelle asks searching for her phone in her pause. She looked shocked as it was her father. She had completely forgotten about her dad. And now, he must be worried about her whereabouts. “Annabelle, where have you been?” Mr. Johnson asked over the phone. Annabele forehead creased, Dad, there was a mistake, I am married to the wrong groom,” says Annabele, looking at Mason with angry eyes. “I know, where are you now, we need to figure out how to resolve this problem," says Mr Johnson. "Mr. Anthony called and he is already threatening me." Annabelle's heart skipped a beat hearing Mr Anthony was already threatening her father, she quickly dropped the call and approached Mason. "Please, I need your help, Mason," Annabelle pleaded, her eyes looking sad. "Why? Why should I help you now?" Says Mason, looking away from her. Annabelle gritted her teeth. “please! This is urgent, I need to save my father," says Annabelle. "Look it is a long story, I Know I have not treated you as I should have from the start but please I need your help now." Annabelle kneels, pleading to Mason. Mason was shocked at Annabele's humbleness and humility. He wondered what came over her, what was happening to her and why the sudden behaviour changed. "Weirdo! Follow me,” He rudely said and walked upstairs. Annabelle had to run to catch up with him as she stood up from where she was kneeling or she will get lost in this huge mansion. They walked along the long hallway before he stopped in front of a room from the balcony. Mason opened the door and looked at her as he pushed his hands inside the pocket of his pants, "This is your room, you should change your dress into something more comfortable before we know what to do next. Just stay here and don’t roam around," says Mason as he led her into the room. "I’m leaving for a while so make sure you’re still here when I come back or your father's company will suffer. ”He was about to leave when Annabelle grabbed the sleeve of his suit. “Wait…” Annabelle looked at Mason in the eyes with desperation. “You’re gonna help me, right?” "Of course, you are my wife now remember,” says Mason. For some reason, Annabelle felt assured by his answer but she does not seem to like his tone. She does not want anyone ordering her around, but for the sake of her father’s company, she has no choice but to endure this. She had put her pride aside, having agreed to a marriage with an old perverted man who promised to forgive her stepmother's debt to save her dad’s company. Staying with a weird man is nothing compared to that. Annabelle nodded her head and let go of his sleeve. “Thanks.” Mason just clenched his jaws, still pissed as he walked out of the room. Annabelle swallowed hard as she watched him walk away. When he disappeared from her sight, she immediately shut the door and dropped her body on the bed. She took her phone out and searched for his name on the web. "Mason...Drake... she mumbled as she typed his name, curious about his identity. "Let’s see…" says Annabelle, her voice barely above a whisper. Annabelle gasped and immediately sat on the bed with a shocked expression plastered on her face when information about him popped up on the screen. 'Mason Drake, 31. Born on July 15, 1993. Single. President of Drakeson Empire…’ Annabele's jaws dropped because of the information she gathered. She married the wrong guy but this guy could help her. He’s even wealthier than Mr. Anthony and her own family. He’s a freaking billionaire. Annabelle cupped her mouth and stared at the screen of her phone, “Oh my goodness! Did I just hit a jackpot? Back at Mr Anthony's estate, Mason approached with his yellow Ferrari as he was granted entrance into the estate. Mason walked into the mansion and headed straight to where Mr. Anthony was sitting waiting for him. But how did Mason know Mr Anthony? "Aha, there he is, Mr Anthony," says Mason smiling as he walks towards Mr Anthony who is breathing using his supporting oxygen tank. "To what pleasure do I owe you this visit?" Says Mr. Anthony.
