The English Language and Linguistics's class today sucked. It was just the professor rambling on about the origin of the English language and s**t. I was so out of it today that I had to ask Pj to text me the notes he took to study. Thank god he's a good friend.
I made it to the cafeteria and sat alone in one of the tables far off the crowd and ate my sandwich. As I got lost in thought about the argument me and Dan had the other day, a girl approached me and looked at me.
"Hi. I'm sorry for, um, interrupting you but I was just wondering if I can sit here with you. I don't want to sit over there. There are a lot of people." The girl with orange curly hair and strawberry voice said and I smiled.
"Yes sure. I get it." I said, pointing at the empty seat across from me. "I'm Phil by the way." I said and she smiled.
"I'm Carrie." She said and I smiled once more. "What are you studying?" She asked curiously.
"English Language and Linguistics, you?"
"Musical Theater Performance." She smiled out, as if she were proud of her studies.
"So you act? Sing? What?"
"Sing and act basically. Mum taught me how to sing and my older brother coached me in acting classes." She explained and I listened.
"That's awesome."
We talked for almost an hour. We became fast friends immediately. I learned that she lived in Manchester, had a boyfriend that goes to this university as well, and that she's been singing and acting since she was five. It was incredible her talent since she sang a few bars of 'Toxic' before we went our separate ways.
I walked back to my dorm and opened the door only to be greeted by Dan making out with a blonde thing on his bed. I cleared my throat in annoyance to get their attention and it worked.
"Hello Phil." Dan said smirking and the girl just looked at us.
"Oh, I should go. Sorry about this." She apologized to me and stood up.
"No worries. You can stay. I just need to get a notebook then I'm on my way." I said shyly and out my book bag on the floor.
"Dan you should've told me. We could've gone to my place. This is so embarrassing. I'm very sorry but Dan said you wouldn't be here until later tonight." She explained and I looked at Dan who kept on smirking at me.
"Well he must be wasted since I always get to my dorm room at this time. He's just ignorant that way. I'll be going now." I picked up my notebook and pen and started walking out.
"Wait..." She said then I looked at her. "I thought you said that he was like your "best friend" or something." She quoted with her hands and Dan just stood up.
"We are." Dan said. He came towards me and I just pushed him away making him land on the bed.
"No we're not. He's nothing but a d**k who just likes to make people's lives a living hell." I explained and she looked at him.
"But why are you so mean to him?" She asked Dan. "He's nice and sweet and you're just plain mean." She looked at Dan sadly and he looked at us, not knowing what to say.
"I'll go now." I announced.
"I'll join you." The girl said and we left, leaving Dan there.

"You didn't have to do that, you know?" I said as we ate some pie at the café.
"What? Defend you? Of course I had to. He was being a prick to you. Not having any consideration for your living space and telling lies about you? It was so mean of him." She explained and I sighed.
"Well I've gotten use to it." I said sadly and she looked at me.
"Well you shouldn't have to take s**t from nobody." She put her hand in mind and I smiled as her frail hand warmed mine up.
"Oh wait. I never got your name. I'm Phil, by the way." I said and she looked at me.
"Oh right! How rude of me. I'm Rebecca but call me Becky." She explained and I smiled.
"Becky it is." I said and smiled.
Out of the corner of my eye I see Carrie enter with a very tall guy who Imm guessing could be her boyfriend. She saw me and waved, making her way towards us.
"Hey, Phil." I stood up and greeted her with a hug.
"Hey, Carrie." I said and let her go. "Oh this is Becky." I introduced and they shook hands
"This is Ricky." She said and we shook hands. "Are you, like, on a date?" She asked me and I looked at her wide-eyed and gulped.
"N-No. We're um..."
"Yes, actually we are." I heard Becky said and turned to look at her and she just smiled at me. "Would you care to join us? We could make it a double-date!" She exclaimed happily and Carrie and Ricky agreed.
I'm on a date?
