I swear I'm terrified. Dan hasn't mentioned anything and it's freaking me out an it has been days already. I mean I know it was a simple kiss but I mean, come on, we have to talk about it because I feel so conflicted about it.
We were currently sat at my dining table, eating breakfast as my mum went to the bank to cash her christmas bonus. Dan was calm, eating his cereal while using his phone. I sat in silence, munching on the cereal and minding my own business.
We were going out later today for Chris called us so Dan could catch up with the band and rehearse. I didn't want to go, to be honest for I was just gonna be a third wheel at that place, but Dan insisted so I just said 'ok'.
After we ate we got ready. Dan and I ironed each others hair which was funny since it looked like we were a couple... But of course we aren't. I put on a blue space t-shirt, black jeans, and converse. Dan had put on a black tøp tee, black jeans, and vans. As we made it to the living room, we took our coats and made it outside.
"Wait, how can we go if your mum took the car?" Dan asked quizzically.
"We go on the tube, of course." I answered in obviousness and he just stared at me.
"That place is full of psychos and smelly people." Dan nagged. "I'd rather walk."
"You rather walk ten miles?" I asked with an exasperated look on my face and Dan sighed.
"Fine! But if I'm stabbed it's on you." Dan added dramatically and I scoffed.
We went to the nearest station which was a mile from my house and Dan was already complaining about the walk. I almost smacked him upside the head on his last complaint but just eased up into the situation.
Dan sat between two overweight ladies and he just sat back and looked at me as if he was pleading for his life. I just held on to one of the bars in the ceilings and laughed.
We made it to our stop and got off. When we made it up the stairs and onto the street, Dan let out a ginormous sigh and leaned over himself, looking at his feet.
"Was it a fun ride?" I asked sarcastically and he looked at me pissed.
"I will shoot you, Lester." He said, voice deep and... sexy.
"You love me too much." Was all I said before averting eye contact and walking down the street.
Five minutes into the walk towards Chris's house, I noticed the Christmas lights around Manchester. They were so beautiful. Lamp-posts decorated in fairy lights, lit up Santa's and reindeers hanging from the electric cables. Giant Christmas trees decorated with blue or red fairy lights... it was all very magical.
Dan, on the other hand, wasn't looking at things the way I was. He was always serious, shrugging off the snow from his shoulder and shaking it off of his hair. It made me feel down but when I looked back at the lights I felt fine.
"I love when they decorate Manchester for Christmas." I announced and looked at Dan. "Don't you?"
"Meh." He simply said and I sighed.
"How can you 'meh' on Christmas? It's the greatest holiday!" I exclaimed, walking by his side closely.
"It's not that special to me, to be honest. It's just snow and presents. I barely spent it with my own family." Dan said serious.
"Yeah, but you spent it with Chris, that seems awesome." I reminded.
"Yeah but he was barely around and his parents always worked. He always went out with the band and I sat there since I don't like going out." Dan said and I looked at him wide-eyed as we turned the corner.
"Are you serious? But you're in a band. You go to clubs and parties! Hell, you even made me sneak in alcohol with you in one of those!" I exclaimed and he laughed.
"Yeah but those were for band publicity. I only know the guys and the other people there are strangers. I'm too antisocial." Dan admitted and I nodded.
"Oh okay." Was the only thing I could finish off with.
We made to Chris's house and made our way in. The house was small but cozy. It was completely grey and light blue. Furniture was red leather couches and black TV stand. The guys were sat in the living room, drinking beers and talking nonsense.
"Ahh, Danny!" Chris exclaimed and sat up his couch. "You've returned to us!"
"Yup." Dan simply said and hugged Chris.
"Dan, where've you been?" Alfie asked and I looked at Dan who's eyes clouded in sadness.
"Um, I rather not say." Dan said and I put my hand on his shoulder for reassurance.
"Well the good thing is that you're back." Joe said waving his beer.
"Exactly." Chris said. "Come join us for a beer guys.
And that is when I first got drunk...
