-3 years later-
"Get up!" I yelled at Dan for the tenth time. "You're gonna be late."
"But I don't wanna." Dan complained under his duvet and I just yanked it off, revealing his body with just boxers on. "Cuddle me."
"Nope. You have an interview and the others are already getting ready." I informed, kissing the top of Dan's head. "I made pancakes." I informed and Dan's eyes shot open and sat up.
"You could've started with that, you know?" Dan stated and I laughed.
"Get ready. We'll be waiting upstairs."
I walked up the stairs to let Dan get ready.
Stuff has happened in these last three years. Dan's gigs had gotten into overload and was eventually offered a record deal. I published a poetry book since keeping things to myself wasn't working out for me. I published 120 poems except one. It was more like a song but it doesn't matter. Anyways, Dan's band took off. They traveled around the world and met thousands of other bands and I was glad I was part of it, being Dan's fiancé and all.
I made it to the dining room and saw the others already having their breakfast. They all had an interview at the BBC radio station. It was for the release of their album that comes out tomorrow. It was all a lot to take in. It is pretty intense. The life of a rockstar is intense. But I just look from the sides. I'm not that important.
An hour later we got into the private bus as we drove to the radio station ten miles away. Dan sat with his band mates rehearsing the acoustic version of the song they were going play. I just sat on the corner with Caspar and Troye. They did most of the talking, I just listened.
When we got there, we went into one of the studios and kept quiet as there was an interview going with a girl. Apparently her name is Jasmine Lucilla Elizabeth Jennifer van den Bogaerde. But her stage name is Birdy. I've heard one of her songs. It was pretty good. And she's so young. She's only 19.
After her interview, the band went inside and I waited behind the one-way glass as they started. Jasmine came my way.
"Hello. I'm Jasmine. You must be Phil." She said and I nodded.
"Yep, that is me. Great interview by the way. You seemed confident." I said and she smiled, pushing her brown hair back.
"Thanks, I was actually pretty terrified."
"I didn't notice." I said politely.
"Thanks. Is that Blurry Haven?" She asked curiously, pointing at the band inside.
"Yeah."
"Ugh, their music is amazing. I'm jelly." She jokes. "Well, Phil, nice speaking with you but I must be off. Bye bye." She said and with that, left.
The interview was going great. It was pretty simple and their acoustic song was great. I'm so proud of Dan, being patient and polite.
After that, I went back to the flat as the others went out to celebrate. I really wasn't feeling like it. Honestly, I wasn't feeling well these past few months. I barely showed it, of course. I ignored the pain, played it off. Dan had a reputation and career to maintain, I can't be a bother to him at all.
It was just measly migraines and chest pains. I just take pain killers and it goes away for a while. The only person that knows is Pj and I haven't spoken to him all day.
As these pains became insanely unbearable, I decided to ask Pj to take me to the hospital the next day
As these pains became insanely unbearable, I decided to ask Pj to take me to the hospital the next day. The doctors ran test, asked me questions, gave me medication and now I waited. Pj sat beside me in the emergency room. Dan was at a gig and I told him I was getting a simple check-up. I was nervous, I've been nervous for a few years now, so it's not uncommon.
"Phil Lester?" The doctor with blonde hair and blue eyes asked.
"Yes?" I said walking towards her.
"Come with me... Alone." She said and I looked at Pj.
"I'll be fine. Wait for me here?" I asked and he nodded.
****
"The cancer has already spread to half of your brain. Chest pains are caused because of the lack of protein of your stomach. You've been eating too much sugar and the cholesterol and carbohydrates are affecting your heart." She kept lecturing me and I just stared at the ground. "I'm sorry, Phillip. But you can't travel no more. If you do, you won't have clinical care and you will suffer."
I breathed in. I can't. It's too much.
"I don't have time for cancer." I simply said and stood up. "I'll be back soon." I said and stormed out. I made it to the waiting room and Pj stood up when he saw me.
"Phil, w-what is it?" He asked concerned.
"Take me to Dan. Please." I said, my voice bland and emotionless.
He nodded and drove me to the place Dan's gig was. We went backstage and I saw Dan and the others having beers at their chairs. My face was just pale. White. My eyes almost popping out of my skull. When I approached, all of their eyes met mine. I was so conflicted. My brain was melting at that moment.
"Phil? What's wrong?" Dan said setting the bottle down but I motioned at him to stay sitting down.
"Phil. Talk buddy." Chris said waving his hand at me.
"You're paler that usual, mate." Alfie informed. "What is it."
"C-C...." I started but the word is so much, my mind is tangled. "C-Cancer..."
Everyone just stared at me confused except for Pj, who knew.
"The doctor... That's what she said..." Pj stared quietly and I looked at him. His eyes just started tearing up.
"I have cancer." I told them louder and their faces shut down. Everything in them shut down.
Caspar, Chris, Alfie, and Troye just looked at me with pain. Dan... he stayed quiet, staring at me with tears running down his face.
