Luna Is Accuse
Melissa's POV “Please believe me, it wasn't me, I swear,” I said, looking at Logan who was sitting with his legs crossed. Tears welled up in my eyes, my feet shaking beneath my baby pink wedding gown. A gown I've been wearing for the past four days. “Liar!! You've always wanted me dead,” he smashed his fist into the handle of his seat. Logan was the new Alpha of the Karis Pack. He was muscular built and tall, strikingly handsome nonetheless with his straight nose, attractive brown eyes and full lips. His black hair always fell on his forehead. I was the happiest werewolf when we mated, but my dreams of a grand wedding were put on hold. Blinded by my desperation for love and acceptance from him, I became a pawn in their scheme. He went on with the arrangement because his father had ordered him to. His father and mine were best of Friends. It was the bond of that friendship that they intended to continue when they betrothed Logan and me. I loved him since our betrothal at ten, and even now, at seventeen, my feelings remain. But Logan never showed any affection towards me, he'd always insult me and bully me in front of his friends, making them laugh at me and calling me desperate. “Melissa the desperate!!” Those words never disappeared from my head, they echoed anytime I closed my eyes to sleep. Nor did his friends' laughter about how I sounded in bed while being intimate with him leave my head. Yes, we made love and he told his friends that I tried to buy his heart with my body even though he knew he was my first. It was heartbreaking, my heart ached whenever I recalled it. But my father advised me to endure, he believed Logan would change once I became his mate. He must have said that because he never knew the full story, how would he have known? I couldn't tell him everything. “My Father loved you like you were his own and he died because of your evil mind!!” Logan said, twisting his lips, his fist still clenched. “I didn't kill your father. Why is it so hard to believe?” I'd been saying the same thing over and again for the past four days, but no one believed me. After we mated, we were supposed to drink and eat before the wedding ceremony. I served the wine to our table. I had heard of Logan's preference for gold over silver, so I served him with a golden cup, but his father took it and drank from it. Right before us, he fell and died. They all stared at me with their accusatory expressions. I was locked up immediately, but his death, which made Logan the new Alpha, also made me Luna. Right now, he still expects me to confess to a crime I did not commit. Logan stood with his fist clenched, his eyes widely opened. He glared at me as he stepped forward, my heart began to beat faster, and I moved backwards, shaking. His pace was faster than mine, so he got hold of me and held my neck tightly with his bare hands. I felt his anger, it was an unusual connection, l sensed his emotions, and he was uncontrollably angry. My breath caught up in my throat, I was suffocating. “Lo….Logan, pleeease,” I managed to voice out. He let go, and I slumped to the floor, coughing. “Even though my father wasn't your target, he is still dead and because of that,” he paused and leaned back in his seat. “Your fate is sealed.” “Sealed?” I repeated. “What does that mean?” I asked, dragging my knees forward while lifting the flair of my gown. “You have to answer for your crimes with your life.” My eyes widened in disbelief, I was going to die for a crime I did not commit. The thought of it pumped tears out of my eyes, it flowed down my cheeks. He believed that I had intentions of killing him, that I could think of hurting him, perhaps because of the way he treated me. But that wasn't true, I loved him blindly. And he was very aware of my affections for him, why then does he strongly believe I poisoned his cup? I rose to my feet, my eyes still pale and reddened from my cries. “What does my father have to say about this?” I needed to know if my father believed I was capable of killing someone, I hadn't seen him in the past seven days. He wasn't even present to witness the great mating ceremony, how Logan's claws penetrated my arms and mine into his, how our eyes glowed golden yellow, and how happy I was. He was sent on an important errand, so I heard. Logan remained silent for a while before clapping his hands. Two guards walked in at the sound of his clap, he gestured at them and they approached to drag me out. “Do not take her back to the dungeon, take her to her room,” “My room,’’ I repeated, my eyes still wide open. “She needs to wash up, she reeks…” he continued. I raised my collar to my nose, frowning my face. The sweaty smell was irritating but it was normal, I hadn't taken my bath in four days. I had been locked up in a muddy dungeon that even my gown was now decorated with mud. “What about my father?” I asked again. He then glared at me, “He is the reason I'm moving you to your room.” “I don't understand. Is he back?” My eyes were wide open, and my legs trembled beneath me as I awaited his response. But he didn't utter a sound, I could suddenly hear the sound of rustling leaves outside echoing through the silent room. He gestured at the guards to drag me out. I felt rough hands grip my arms, yanking me out of the room as I stumbled, my feet scraping against the ground. I caught a glimpse of startled facial expressions, the both of them were walking into the Alpha's hut. “Melissa the desperate!” One said. My life was never going to be the same, I would always be a thing of mockery and to add it up, I'd been accused of killing an alpha, I had to prove my innocence but how? The guards yanked me into my bedroom, the door shut behind me but I still felt their presence outside, they were standing behind it, guarding me or rather preventing me from escaping. I walked to my dressing table, the soft carpet muffling my footsteps. The familiar scent of my perfume filled the air, a comforting reminder of happier times. My make-up kit was still scattered on it, the same way I left it on my wedding day. My cheeks widened at the thought of how happy I was. My gaze then fell on a little note beside my powder, that was the only odd thing there. My heartbeat skipped at the realization that I hadn't kept it there. I glanced around in fear before unfolding the note.
