Leaving the Fardon Mountains

Chris and Quax were both hanging downwards on the side of the sloping mountain. They both faced downwards towards the vast valley below them. Chris was holding his right arm up onto a sticking-out rock above his head, while the Dwarf was holding tightly onto his left hand, and his tiny body hanging in the air right below Chris.  Loking down below, they could see the section of the pass they had been walking on still falling down further and further, into the valley below.  The remaining big chunks of the stone path smashed hard onto rocks on the side of the mountain, splattering up after contact, and ending up reduced into smaller rock pieces, which continued falling further into the endless valley.
