Chapter 24 Kris lay silently until Korrin’s breathing became soft and even. Once she was certain he was fast asleep, she waited another ten minutes before slowly lifting one of his thick arms up over her body. She inched out of the cot, up against the wall of the tent as much as she could manage. She shivered at the feeling of the cold canvas against her upper body. It took her another five minutes to get out of the blanket, over Korrin, and back onto the floor. From there, she waited until his breathing became normal again, then she started pulling on her clothes. When she was finally dressed, she walked to the flap of the tent and looked back. Why am I doing this? Will this even work? But she had made up her mind. She slid through the flap and entered the dark night. Snow was blowing
