  Chapter 28 “It’s going to scar. No matter what I do, there is going to be some scar tissue.” Kris nodded absently, but she didn’t mind. She’d known that when it had happened, known when she had got her first hastily administered stitches. Now, it wasn’t a big deal. “Whoever did this didn’t do a very good job.” Kris looked up at her father, who was perched over her and was putting in more stitches to her deep cuts. He’d taken one look at them, shook his head, and immediately set to cleaning the wound, cutting out the old stitches, and putting in new ones. “But I’m sure whoever did it was in a rush. Maybe I could teach them how to properly put in stitches. Maybe I could teach you, so you can help when I’m gone.” “That would be nice, Dad,” she said, and gave him a smile. It was true.
