Chapter 27 The wagon was warm, the blankets laid out everywhere in great, big piles, pillows propped up beneath Kris’s head. She was alone, Korrin was out setting things right. She’d insisted that he wait, heal for a few hours, and get his neck looked at, but he had refused. He’d given her a kiss and disappeared into the night. Kris looked down at her forearm. It was wrapped in bright white bandages, so she couldn’t see much, but she knew enough to know that she would be okay. The claw marks had been deep and caused a lot of bleeding, but after a few quick stitches, the damage was stopped. There would be scarring, of course, but she was alive.
