The wagon was rolling along slowly, pulled by a team of powerful horses. As a rule, Shifters didn’t use other animals when they didn’t have to, but it was necessary now. Kris knew that without horses, cattle, and livestock, the Shifters wouldn’t be able to survive out here.
To Korrin’s credit, he didn’t seem to mind. He was currently on the top of the wagon next to Jin, guiding the train of wagons out of the valley. There were fewer wagons leaving than coming in. Some wagons had been in the middle of repairs, others saw Shifters piling into one to leave quickly. A good amount of the livestock had been slaughtered early; it was easier to transport the meat than it was to herd the live animals.
