The Tango

Dallas had not seen Nash the rest of the day.  She was almost sick to her stomach with discomfort and then she heard his voice in her head and relief washed over her. ‘Hey babe!  Just checking in making sure everything is okay.’  A smiled a mile wide came across her face and she flushed a bit. ‘We are doing fine.  I am almost ready to put this dress on.  Could Jezz and my mom be brought here?’ She liked this mind link.  ‘I like the ‘we’.  I will have someone get them over to you.  My link is always open to you so if you need me or anything at all you can talk to me here.  Love you.’ She smiled and her hand fluttered over her belly. “Thanks babe.  That means a lot to me.’ He had felt the tension in the bond being away from her for so long and he could feel the relief from hearing his voice.  He was glad he thought of reaching out. This might be his home and his people, but she is all alone for right now without him. “Luna, would you like to keep that necklace on or put on this one?” Andrea, one of Nash’s cousins asked and it brought her back.  “I will wear this one.”  She smiled and touched it making her heart flutter a bit. She suddenly could not wait to get Nash into bed tonight.  A knock on the door was answered by one of the girls and Jezz came in like a tornado.  Asking questions, looking at the dress, noticing her necklace.  All the cousins smiled and looked at each other not really knowing what to expect from her.  Namid was quiet and watched everything for a few moments. She walked up to Dallas and touched the curl of her hair as it danced down her chest. “You look beautiful.  I am so very thankful that I can be here for this.” She brought her in for a hug and they stayed that way for a bit. When she pulled back, she looked at her again and then let her go.  The girls took her in the other room to get her in the dress.  Namid and Jezz waited on the couch, holding hands, and talking about what was going to happen tonight. Soon Dallas stepped out full gown and everything.  Her hair was up in a rose flower bun and curls hung on each side of her face bouncing with each step.  Her make up was light and highlighted her eyes with smokey accents making them even more perfect than they already were, and the dress was a perfect fit.  It was the first time in her life that she saw Jezz was at a loss for words. “Luna, it is time.” There was a knock at the door from a young man, he looked nervous as he handed her his elbow. “I am Sebastian, Nash’s cousin.” He smiled and she could see the resemblance. “I am Dallas.” She smiled and took his arm. Right behind him was Owen and Dugan waiting to bring Jezz and Namid to the stage.  Their steps echoed in the hallway, and it seemed like they walked forever.  Then they came to an opening where two large doors were propped open.  Dallas could see all the people and the huge stage to the right, but they did not go out the doors they turned right down the hallway and came in behind the stage.  As she walked outside backstage, she saw the moon was full and yellow.  The excitement was thick in the air from all the people talking and laughing.  The lights were low but seeing in the dark was never a problem for werewolves.  Sebastian stopped and gestured toward the steps that led onto the stage. “This part you enter alone, Luna.” He bowed and stepped out of her way. Dallas stood there for a moment and just listened.  She heard the breeze rustle the leaves around her, she noticed the people get quiet with anticipation.  She felt her sisters’ hand on her shoulder and her Mother squeezed her hand.  She got strength from them, she could feel it, she took a deep breath and began going up the steps onto the stage. The lights on the stage were not especially bright but they distorted her seeing the crowd.  She thought it went on and on until she could see no more.  She wanted to see each face.  She wanted time to get to know each one of them.  “Luna.” A deep voice laced with age and knowledge pulled her from her gaze.  She looked and saw an old man, probably the oldest man she had ever seen.  He gracefully motioned her to stand by him.  Then she noticed that Nash was on the other side of him staring at her intently, she held his gaze as the man talked about things, she knew nothing about.  The elder stepped back and Nash stepped toward her and pulled her close to him and the crowd went wild, Nash held his hand up to stop everyone from starting the celebration. “My first act as your true Alpha will be to bring two more into our pack.  Namid and Jezzabelle, please come on the stage.” Jezz looked beautiful in a soft blush dress that was above her knees in the front and then flowed on the floor in the back with light sequence on the bodice with a wolf face pattern.  Dallas thought she looked beautiful.  Her smile was a mile wide as she walked on stage.  Namid was in a simple beige pants suite that was sleeveless and decorated with wolf designs up her right leg with black stitching.  Her hair was short, and her eyes were darting everywhere.  Dallas hoped that she would work through her anxiety, she was doing great with all this today.  Dugan was an amazing man that was quickly becoming her rock.  “You are not only family, but you are now part of the Breckston Moon Pack. Here we love and protect without fail.” Nash welcomed them in his commanding Alpha voice that boomed over the crowd, and they did not interrupt.  He lifted their hands with his indicating that it was time to start the party.  The crowd went wild, some people shifted and ran off into the woods, some people made their way up to the stage as the DJ kicked off some dance music.  Nash put a protective hand on Dallas and steered her toward the steps to exit the stage. “Wait, why are we leaving?”  Nash was surprised looking at her as she turned to the DJ. “The dance of love please.”  Almost instantly the music came on for the Tango came out of the speakers and Dallas lined up with Nash.  The crowd gave them space as they started walking around each other and she gave him a crooked slightly wicked smile and he pulled her in for the first pass looking at her as if he wanted to eat her right there. They danced around the stage as if they had done a million times and the crowd watched in silent awe as their Alpha and Luna danced the Tango.  At the end the crowd went wild again, and the dance music started again. The crowd started dancing around them and then Dallas and Nash escaped to the exit giggling like teenagers. When they were crowd free Nash stopped and pulled her into his arm “You take my breath away.  You looked stunning, you did well and you are going to be a great Luna.” He kissed her lightly and teasing passion.  “You take my breath away and I loved your alpha voice.  It was amazing.” She looked at him smiling.  “I want to spend some time here.  Get to know everyone and how everything works here.  What do you think?” “I grew up here.  I would love for our little ones to do the same.  Mark has Miami under control and only needs me for bigger decisions.  We could run everything from here.”  He threaded his fingers together and rested her arms on her hips. “I would like that.  I would like that very much.”  She pulled away from him and took him by the hand and led him back out into the crowd to mingle.  It wasn’t time to leave the party yet.
