Selena Moore never imagined her life would change because of a wolf.

When Selena finds an injured wolf on the streets, she can’t just leave it behind. Despite the danger, she takes it home, thinking it’s just a stray in need of help. But this is no ordinary wolf. With golden eyes that seem to see into her soul, it quickly becomes clear that there’s something more to this creature than meets the eye.

As the wolf recovers, strange things begin to happen. Selena finds herself drawn to it in ways she can’t explain, and when the wolf mysteriously vanishes, she’s left heartbroken—until fate intervenes.

Enter Alex Donovan, a successful entrepreneur with a hidden past. When Selena meets him again in the most unexpected of circumstances, she never realizes that the charming man before her is the same wolf who saved her life. And as secrets unravel, Selena is drawn deeper into a world of mystery, danger, and desire, where the line between human and beast blurs in ways she never imagined.

Will love and trust overcome the hidden world of werewolves, or will the truth tear them apart?

Chapter one
Chapter One: A Chance Encounter The street was quiet and dim under the night sky, with only the faint glow of streetlights casting shadows along the road. Selena Moore, the female lead, walked hurriedly towards her apartment, a bag of takeaway pizza in hand. After a long, tiring day, her feet felt heavy, and she couldn’t help but think about how she should probably get some rest—there were already enough problems waiting for her tomorrow. As she turned a corner, she suddenly stopped in her tracks. A dark shape caught her eye. “What’s that?” she frowned, peering ahead. The shape moved slightly, revealing a pair of shining golden eyes, locking onto hers. That gaze made her heartbeat quicken, a strange tension in the air. “No way, is that a wild animal?” She instinctively took a step back. But as the shape stood up, Selena realized it wasn’t just any animal—it was a wolf. Or at least, it looked like a wolf, but there was something off about it. The wolf had a strong build, its fur dark with a hint of silver, and its eyes were deep and cold, almost as if it could see straight through her. She froze for a moment, and the bag of pizza almost slipped from her hands. “Oh my God, this… this is a wolf?” The wolf’s gaze remained locked on hers, as if saying, “Don’t come closer.” Selena hesitated for a moment, wondering what to do. The street was empty, and the alley was eerily quiet. She quickly scanned her surroundings for anything she could use to defend herself, but soon realized she didn’t have the luxury of time to overthink it. She decided to take the wolf home, no matter what. “Well, I don’t really have a choice,” she muttered to herself, then walked towards the wolf. The wolf clearly didn’t want her to approach. It growled lowly, baring its sharp teeth. “Don’t worry, I won’t hurt you,” she said softly, trying to calm it down. She shook the pizza bag in her hand. “I’m just trying to help.” The wolf’s ears twitched slightly, as if it were cautiously assessing her. Selena didn’t give up. She slowly knelt down and placed the pizza bag on the ground, then carefully moved closer, reaching out to gently stroke its neck. To her surprise, the wolf didn’t resist; it just silently stared at her. “You’re actually quite well-behaved,” she sighed in relief, feeling a little proud of herself. “I thought you were going to bite me.” She gently patted the wolf’s head and then lifted it up carefully. “You should be able to walk, right?” The wolf didn’t respond but seemed to be too weak to resist. Selena decided to take it to her apartment first, then figure things out later. Back at her apartment, Selena was already exhausted, and carrying the heavy wolf made it even harder to stand. But despite the effort, she managed to get the wolf onto her couch with great care. “You stay here for a bit, I’ll get you some water and food,” she said, her voice soft. The wolf’s golden eyes remained fixed on her, its gaze somewhat melancholic. Selena suddenly felt a pang in her chest. Could it be that this wolf was weak because it was injured? She went to the kitchen, grabbed some water and bread, and returned with a towel to gently clean off the mud on the wolf’s fur. Though she kept thinking how strange it was, she couldn’t help herself. The wolf’s expression softened a little, no longer so fierce, but more vulnerable. “Really, I’m such an i***t,” she muttered to herself, laughing. “I’m taking care of a wolf like it’s a dog.” Just as she sighed in relief, the wolf suddenly lifted its head. Its golden eyes locked onto her, as if it were trying to say something. Selena’s heart skipped a beat as she realized: she hadn’t just saved a stray dog—she had brought home a mysterious wolf. But she had no idea how this wolf would end up changing her life. End of Chapter One
