Chapter Nine
Run
The sound of bullets flying over her frail body breached her final grip on her control, feeling the fear of death come so close from before to only be done today, wracked her body to collapse to the splintered floor. Samantha did not dare open her eyes, not wanting to confirm what she heard and what was real. If she kept her eyes closed, it wasn’t real. None of it was.
Screams from outside the kitchen window pushed her further into her uncontrolled logic. Feeding off the small nibble of hope, pushing down to it basic form as she did not want to be in the room anymore. Curling her knees to her chest, she nearly let out a small cry, breaking her muscles aches to pure ignorance as she was no longer concerned with the pain anymore.
