Chapter 1
The warm morning sunlight poured into the room through the graceful arched windows, casting intricate shadows throughout the white, European-style room. The fragrance of roses permeated the air, intertwined with the echo of joyful laughter emanating from a beautiful girl. Diana Claudine stood in front of a large mirror, her slender figure adorned with a sparkling white dress that clung to her, she was charming like a fairy.
Her eyes widened in awe as she looked at her reflection in the mirror, which displayed a scene that looked like a dream come true.
“I never imagined… I look like a dream,” she whispered, a bright smile gracing her lips. Waiting to marry the man she loved for three years felt unreal, like stepping into a fairy tale.
The sound of tapping heels attracted her attention to two of her grandfather's female subordinates who approached her with friendly smiles.
“Miss, you look so stunning. You are the most beautiful woman today,” one of them commented.
Diana turned to one of the women. "You think so?" The woman nodded, her smile emphasizing Diana's radiant appearance.
"Oh, I feel so sorry for those who are jealous of my beauty out there," Diana chuckled before looking back at the mirror.
"Come on Miss, the ceremony will start soon."
Her smile widened as she followed the women out of the room, imagining Liam, her handsome fiancé of three years clad in his wedding attire and kissing her in front of everyone. Suddenly, her heart fluttered.
Slowly, Diana's steps slowed as she almost reached the door to the ballroom where the event was being held. She suddenly placed her hand on her chest as her heart raced extremely fast. "Wait a minute..." She took a slow breath, trying to calm her nervousness.
One of the women offered a reassuring smile. "Miss, it's normal to feel nervous on your wedding day."
Diana shook her head. "Hah! I'm really nervous. I'm going to the restroom for a bit."
Quickly, Diana turned towards the small room at the end of the corridor. She touched her reddened cheek, contemplating what awaited her on their wedding night. "Ah... Just the thought makes me embarrassed," she chuckled softly.
The corridor looked quiet as Diana hummed softly, trying to calm her pounding heart. Maybe Liam would tease her, as he often did when her cheeks turned into a boiled crab in moments of anxiety. The show would start in fifteen minutes; she would calm down for a bit and come back.
"So, are you really going to marry him? What about me?" said the woman.
“I will only be married to him for six months. After getting my inheritance, I will immediately divorce him," said one man.
"Are you serious?"
"Of course. Who would want a spoiled, reputation-obsessed girl like Diana? If it weren't for her family's wealth, I wouldn't want to be near her."
For a moment, Diana felt like time had suddenly stopped, her body froze at the entrance to the toilet when she heard a very familiar voice enter her ears.
She couldn't believe what she had just heard. But that voice, she clearly did not recognize it wrongly. It couldn't be him, right?
Diana slowly hid behind the wall. Her body felt like it was shaking as she tried to peek out from behind the wall. A moment later... Diana felt her breath catch in her throat, when she saw that the man was Liam who was hugging a woman who was none other than her little friend, Vania.
A moment later, Liam touched the girl's face and leaned towards her, then they kissed each other.
Diana hurriedly covered her mouth, tears streaming down her eyes. That vivid sight shattered her world. The wedding she dreamed of and carefully planned was ruined. The man she loved so much turned out to be a con artist.
Feeling hit by such a strong rock, Diana could barely support her suddenly weakened body. She fell to her knees on the toilet floor accompanied by obscene sounds that filled the room. Her tears flowed down her cheeks, instantly destroying the make-up on her face.
Diana was really confused about what to do. Even in her worst nightmares, she never imagined this would happen.
"Why... Why would Liam have the heart to do this?" Diana whispered weakly with trembling lips while wiping the tears that were streaming down her face.
Diana continued to curl up crying while beating her chest while the lewd voices continued to enter her hearing. How could Liam, who always said he loved her and cared about her, do this... So Liam approached her for years and was kind to her just for her money while he thought he was such a valuable man.
"Stupid..." She muttered between sobs.
"Who is there?"
Liam's voice surprised her. Diana immediately covered her mouth when she felt Liam's steps approaching her.
"He's approaching... What should I do? I don't want him to see me in this miserable condition," thought Diana, confused, looking around for a place to hide.
"Is there anyone else?" What if someone sees?" Vania, the woman in the low-slit dress, looked worried.
Just a step from where Diana was hiding, Liam stopped in his tracks and turned to Vania.
"It looks like no one, you don't need to worry, this whole floor was rented at the whim of that i***t Diana, they must all be in the ballroom right now and laughing like fools," Liam sneered.
"Are you serious? That's good then." Vania breathed a sigh of relief. A smile appeared on her lips when Liam came closer again.
"Hmm, how about we continue with earlier? Vania dear?"
After making sure there was no one else there, a few moments later, the two of them continued their romantic scene.
“You two….I will never let you go!” Diana thought as she clenched her fists tightly.

.
There were only five minutes left for the event to start, instead of returning to the ballroom, Diana just curled up in the corner of her room with her face full of tears. The wedding she dreamed of and planned for a long time was ruined.
"Dad, Mom... What should I do?" She muttered helplessly as she raised her head.
According to the will of her father and mother, Evangeline and Arsenio, who are on the list of the second richest people in their country with enormous wealth. All of her father and mother's assets will belong to her provided she marries. However, not only Liam, even her aunt and uncle have always openly targeted her parents' wealth.
Diana's fists clenched as her crying began to stop. She won't let anyone touch what's hers. People who want to seize her property may be happy that her marriage is broken up, and she cannot claim the property. However, she would not let them feel even the slightest bit happy! Tomorrow! The treasure must become her property so that they cannot touch it again. The only way, she has to get married.
For a moment, Diana forgot that this was her wedding day. She stood up, wiped her tear-streaked face, and walked towards the mirror. She grimaced when she saw the condition of her makeup. It was too late to think about makeup; all she was thinking about was wanting to get married, to a man other than Liam of course.
"Whatever happens, I have to get married and claim the property and then take revenge on Liam. Damn..." she thought while gritting her teeth.
"I'm getting married! Yes, I can marry anyone besides Liam! Be it the hotel maid or even one of the guests, I can marry any of them, right? Marriage on paper isn't that difficult!" she muttered before turning around, lifting her dress, and walking towards the door.
---
The tapping sound of diamond-covered heels colored the girl's steps as she walked hastily down the hotel hallway. She was looking for anyone she could marry, but she had been wandering for ten minutes without finding anyone on the ninth floor of this hotel. Even the waiters or hotel staff were not visible.
"Why does it seem so hard to find a man to marry?" Diana thought tiredly. For some reason, suddenly the hotel seemed to have no life; she hadn't seen anyone since before.
Not giving up, she intended to go down to another floor after catching her breath for a while, while reciting several prayer sentences within herself so that she would quickly find someone to marry as soon as possible. It depends on who the guy is! The important thing is that she gets married!
Help whoever it is... I need a man now, she thought desperately as she arrived in front of the elevator.
Ting!
The elevator door slowly opened, making Diana raise her head. A moment later... a glint of happiness appeared in Diana's eyes.
God answered her prayer! She forgot about the bad condition of her face due to smudged mascara and powder; she then smiled with relief when she saw a tall man get out of the elevator in front of her.
"Sir!" Diana exclaimed as the man walked past her, but there was no response from the man.
"Sir!" Diana shouted again as she chased the man at a trot while lifting the bottom of her dress high.
"Sir, will you marry me?" she asked when she arrived within one meter of the man. Diana thought the man in the black suit was one of the guests invited to her wedding.
The man stopped in his tracks, then turned to face Diana. Diana was stunned for a moment when the man's cold gaze focused on her. The man was very handsome, he had a defined jawline and high cheekbones, and his almond-shaped eyes were framed by long, dark eyelashes. However, for some reason, Diana felt that the man's gaze was dangerous, like the gaze of a ferocious wolf that made no one dare approach.
"You talking to me?" The man looked to the right and left then looked at Diana with surprise flashing in his eyes.
Diana quickly nodded. "That's right. Do me a favor... Marry me now." The girl spoke urgently.
The man looked at his luxury watch before looking back at Diana, a cold smile appeared on the man's face when he saw the messy bride in front of him. "You don't seem to know who I am."
Diana nodded again with a desperate face. "If I don't get married now, then I will lose everything. Please help me..."
The man tilted his head, a faint grin appeared on his thin lips. "So, you need my services to be your bride? Then what will I receive in exchange?"
"Contract marriage for a year. I will give you 30 percent of my inheritance. My family is quite rich and famous," offered Diana, hoping that the man would immediately agree. However, the man was silent, looking at her with an incomprehensible gaze, making Diana even more anxious, afraid that he would reject her offer.
"If that's not enough, then I will give you 50 percent of my assets, marry me." Diana spoke again. Anything as long as he gets married! She would rather give 50 percent of her fortune to this stranger than to Liam!
After being silent for a few moments, the man took a step closer to Diana, without Diana realizing that a subtle grin appeared on the man's lips. "Okay... But I have a condition, the first condition–"
"No problem, whatever the conditions, I agree. We have to go to the hall now," Diana interrupted without giving the man a chance to add other conditions.
The man opened his mouth again, but Diana spoke first again. "Whatever the conditions are, I will agree as long as you become my bride!"
Without waiting for the man's answer, Diana quickly grabbed the man's hand and rushed down the aisle to her wedding ballroom with mixed feelings.
For a moment, the man noticed the tight grip of the woman beside him on his hand, then turned to look at the woman's face, then the man's lips lifted into a mysterious smile.
"Because you gave yourself up voluntarily to me, don't expect that you can escape from me... Diana Claudine," thought the man.
