Diana’s Pov
“Let me go!” I mumbled those words as loud as I could, I had escaped death and I wasn't going to die again! I bit his hand and when he flinched I took to my heels. The strange man chased after me but I was resilient in getting away. I hid behind a trash can, I heard his footsteps slowly approaching me. I covered my mouth as I slowed down my breathing.
Just when I thought the footsteps had faded away, I was pulled away from the trash can.
“You little slut,” The man held my hair then dragged me away, I screamed for him to release me from his grip but my cries were ignored.
“Let go of my mate,” A bass voice was heard from the other end of the road. I adjusted my eyes to see who it could be. A sigh in relief escaped my lips as I noticed that it was Rolf.
“Run along now, this doesn't concern you.” The strange man turned away and walked away from Alpha Rolf’s direction, within a blink of an eye. Rolf grabbed the stranger's wrist and twisted it, causing him to release his grip on me. I fell on my back, gasping for air, and moving away from them as quick as possible.
I could feel the anger engulf Rolf, he looked at the strange man with a death stare before breaking the stranger’s wrists. The strange man screamed in pain, then his eyes changed. I knew he was about to shift so I took cover.
The strange man shifted into his wolf form, he had dark grey fur and brown eyes. I watched him growl at Rolf, but Rolf remained unchanged and unmoved, the strange man charged at Rolf but he remained calm despite the man eating creature running towards him.
With a swift move Rolf decapitated the wolf, I heard a whimper and then a large thud to the ground. I was shocked, I have never seen Rolf in action so this came as a great deal of shock to me. He looked unbothered after killing the strange man, slowly the man’s wolf form morphed to his human body.
“Are you okay?" he asked, his voice low and husky. His voice softened towards me.
I nodded, still trying to process what had just happened.
Without thinking, I reached up and touched his face, his soft smile calmed my nerves, I wasn't afraid of him, if at all I became a bit more aroused. He towered above me as I reached to wipe the line of blood away from his jawline, he held my hand as I tried to retract my action.
Before I knew it, his lips parted, my cheeks turned red as I knew what was next, I closed my eyes and let it happen. As we kissed, the world around us melted away, leaving only the two of us, lost in what I have only dreamt of in the past. I felt his hands on my body, tracing the curves of my waist and hips, sending shivers down my spine. Evey touch of his ignited a spark I thought I had died.
I wrapped my arms around his neck, pulling him closer, as our lips devoured each other. The kiss deepened, becoming more intense, more passionate, I didn't want it to end, I wanted him to make me his.
The kiss was so intense that I forgot that I had to breathe, we broke apart, with heavy breathing we stared at each other, lost in the moment. Silence and the beating of our hearts was all I could hear.
We stood there, locked in each other's gaze, I remembered that I had rejected him just a few hours ago. I remembered how I was treated so poorly in my past life, how he let it happen. I became disgusted with myself.
“You should forget this ever happened.” I turned around to leave, I didn't want to see his face. His handsome face that made my toes curl.
“Diana, I know you want me just as much as I want you. Leave all these behind, come to me.” His low husky voice was enough to make butterflies fill my tummy almost instantly. I cleared my throat to get rid of such thoughts.
I looked at him with a scornful gaze, I shifted my mood to that of amusement as I burst out laughing.
“I should leave what behind? This life is all I have ever wanted and no one will take it away from me!” I yelled, my voice echoed but I didn't care. I wanted to prove my point and be heard.
“No matter what you do, you will always be mine,” I turned around to warn him to stay away from me but in a quick moment, he was gone. He vanished completely, I hated that I let him touch me again. What will Lucian think if he finds out?
“Oh please, Alpha Rolf is our one through mate,” Renee said. I felt slightly better until I felt a nudge on my stomach. The pain grew increasingly but a few minutes later, Lucian came with some guards to take me back to the pack mansion. By that time the pain had subsided but I wondered why I was in a lot of pain a few moments back. I didn't want to make a scene by informing anyone about it. Lucian walked me to my room, we both didn't utter a single word.
When we finally got there, Lucian parted his lips. I quickly shut my door against him.
“I am so tired, we will meet tomorrow. Goodnight.” I yelled from the other side of the door. That is enough kissing for the day.
