My Bestfriend's Guy

It was a typical day for Yam. She wakes up three hours before her shift to make sure she's fully prepared for her work. She was browsing through her phone when a call came in. An unusual number and a call outside the country. "Hello?", she answered. "Hey. it's me, Mike", that's what the caller said. She recognized his voice, the voice she had loved to hear for the past four years. They talked for a few minutes as the guy needed to go back to his work. When the call got disconnected, she had a blank stare for about five minutes and only realized that she had to start preparing when her dad called her so she can eat her breakfast. She was thinking about the call all throughout her meal and even showered slowly as she reminisced about the times she spent with Mike. They weren't all just happy memories, there were bad ones too. But above all, they stickled to each other until she felt like it was no longer worth the fight. Yam arrived happily at her work as she usually is. Greeted everyone she saw and made sure to leave a smile on their faces. "Shister!", shouted the person behind her. "Hey, wazzup? What are we having for lunch?", she added. "We haven't even clocked in yet and you are already thinking about lunch Andie?", Yam replied. The two got off the 21st floor of the building and keyed in their badges. They went straight to the pantry to reserve their meals for lunch because it's usually out of stock half their shift. "Ken!", a tall guy shouted from across the room. "Good morning!", a seemingly tall, dark and kind person replied. Andie then pinches Yam to signal that she found someone attractive and wants to know who it is. Since Yam decided to prioritize love over work, she then supported her friend and told her that they would stalk the guy together but they had to do it at a later time because they'd be late for work. "Thank you for calling customer service, my name is Yam. How can I help you today?", this is how Yam normally answers the phone. This is what she does all day and she doesn't seem to get tired. She does this with passion and that's why she is considered one of the kindhearted and trustworthy employees. "Yam, is it your break? Let's go to the washroom.", Andie said. Yam nodded, drank a bit from her glass of iced coffee and went to the washroom with Andie. They were walking down the hallway and chatting over issues they heard within their department when they suddenly heard another footsteps walking the same direction as they were. They got distracted and both shut their mouths thinking that the guy might have overheard their conversation. They walked silently towards the washroom and never looked back to check who was it.
