Jared looks like a Greek god. The shirt he has on fits him like gloves, muscles pulling out like they are suffocating and need air, his sleeves rolled up to his elbows, allowing me to admire the manly hairs that spring out from his sweat pores. His pants are as fitting as ever and the Dior shoes he puts on scream expensive and glows even in the dark. His green eyes sparkled like they had a bit of silver in them. I see him every day but it feels like his whole self becomes new every single time he puts on a different clothing. The grace and stance that surrounds his presence ignite an electric bolt through me and I can't help but shiver. Oh! the effect he has on me!
“You done gawking?” Jared asked irritatedly.
I return from my lost world and shake my head profusely. Why did I do that?
“Call it off!” He spoke sternly.
“Call it off? You know I don't have a say in this matter.” I stated.
After a long stare with his always emotionless expression, he stated; “Mum always listens to you.”
“Isn't it rather obvious it wasn't solely mom's decision? How do I convince the latter? I'm sorry Jarr but there's nothing I can do. You know I would do anything you ask but I don't think even Mum would listen to me on this one.” I explain.
“Don't call her that!” He warned gritting his teeth and clenching his fists.
“What are you talking about?” I asked because I was confused.
I'm losing a bit of air as his next move shocks me to oblivion. He's moving towards me at a normal pace causing me to walk backwards in both surprise and confusion. I finally reach an end as there is no way anymore. My back hits the wall and he looks straight in my eyes, his look fierce but his eyes luring as ever. I'm lost in them as usual. We have been staring at each other for a while and I can't seem to fathom where the heat is reading from because I am steaming hot and probably need some air, some space so I don't explode. His eyes soften for a bit but immediately turn dark and he grabs my hands swiftly, pins them to the wall, and firmly states;
“You don't belong here and you will never do! Your mother is dead and never to rise again, if you have forgotten let me remind you, you are an orphan! And that will never change!” His eyes filled with anger.
“Don't ever call her mum! Because she isn't and I can never share the most precious jewel in my life with unfortunate beings!” He states sternly.
“She is my mother alone and because I love her I won't break her heart. The marriage will proceed but let me remind you I can never be with someone like you. You will be my wife to the public but you will be nothing close to an acquaintance to me in the private. You'd better not create any sort of drama in my business life and ruin the chances I have or else you'll regret the very day you were born.” He threatened.
He lets go of my hand with so much force as if realizing he had held the most unwanted thing for so long and leaves me stunned, withered, and broken. For some time I thought he was going to be different but I guess my thoughts were defeated as usual.
Tears break out but I clean them abruptly. Tears have found the lost kingdom in which they ruled but I have to prove to it that I can overcome.
“Jared Maximus Black! I would change you and your heart will create a space for me! This marriage will work and we won't break apart but you will learn to love me more than you hate me!” I assured myself and challenged myself.
He stops dead in his tracks, turning his head to face me to register what he has heard. His eyebrows are furrowed together as we make eye contact but as usual, his evil smirk finds its way to Its true residence and I return his gaze with a faint smile causing him to immediately lose his smirk. He stands up straight, shoulders held high, hands in his pocket, and intently stares at me. I walk confidently to him and say;
“I am your soulmate and we belong to each other. I will open your heart and find that hidden love in you that you will be surprised you have in you. It will be difficult, yes, but I promise you our fate is to be together and it will not turn against us. You will yearn and want me more than the way you resent me.” I challenge him further.
He just stands there with a mischievous smirk, like he's watching a child threatening to collect her chocolate from an adult. It wasn't until the effect of my Jarr syndrome consumed me that I realized I was too close to him. I backed out immediately but it was too late because the blush was evident on my cheeks and he couldn't help but scoff.
“I wonder who yearns and wants the other”
With that, he left not bothering about the pronouncements I made and not affected by our closeness tonight. I groan loudly and run out of that place to my room, covering my face from all the embarrassment I had received just in the space of an hour.
This big load of softness is my number one comfort and I will never trade you for anything. Mr. Blue always knows how to get me out of my sad moments and I'll be forever grateful to Mrs Rose for giving you to me. His cotton-filled muscles protect me at night, his full and mild breasts put my head in place and comfort, and his wide arms engulf me in a warm embrace and protect me from the evil hands of the cold every night. Oh, what a wonder! I should fall in love with you instead and forget about Jared, isn't it? I laugh at my foolish thoughts.
I'm interrupted by a commotion outside. There are lots of flashing lights out the window, I move forward to the window to ascertain what might be going on and I see a whole lot of employees running here and there like they have no direction. The next scene gains my interest as I see Mrs Rose in tears, Jared comforting her whilst he speaks to a man in a suit.
This didn't feel ok and I rushed out of the room, dashing down the stairs like an athlete racing for the finish line. My mom was crying uncontrollably and I wasn't there to comfort her. I ran reaching the living room to find Mom and Jarr already there with some men in suits. Jarr was engulfed in a serious conversation with the man in a suit and I couldn't help but eavesdrop;
“He was in a very bad state sir and it was very disheartening to watch. Mr Black had turned blue already on reaching his office and if not for the Electronics head of the department who was reexamining appliances, we wouldn't have found him lying motionless on the office ground. The only witness we have and supposed suspect we have is his secretary who was nowhere to be found at the scene.” The man relayed the information.
“ Why is she a suspect?” Jarr asked.
“Sir, she never leaves the sight of her boss, she leaves when he leaves and is always around him. She barely even uses the restroom as she is always at his beck and call, and that's why she's the longest to have stayed as his secretary and personal assistant at the same time. Her not being present to alert the office of such a grave matter means she must have been involved” He explained.
The conversation is interrupted and we are all distracted by a jolt from Dakota saying;
“We have found her.”
