Two weeks later Janice found herself being invited by Kathy, Angelo and Marcus to join them at the lake on the their land. Janice didn’t know if she wanted to go at first. Partially because of the fact that Marcus used to constantly tell her that he would not interact with her if she did not want to be in her human form. Angelo always had accepted her for who she was whether she was a wolf or in human form. Kathy she was still unsure about because she thought Kathy was trying to get close just so she could later do a dirty deed that would cause her more harm than her previous actions had. At the moment Janice was watching the other three as they were jumping in the water and splashing water at each other. Angelo stopped for a minute to look at Janice and his face became sad because he couldn’t do much to get her to come play with them. Without warning Marcus body slammed Angelo causing him to loose his footing and fall backwards into the water. Janice chuckled to herself but became worried when Angelo didn’t come out of the water in time. “Angelo?” Marcus called looking worried. “s**t, Angelo this isn’t funny.” Janice stood up and wandered closer to the water, fear coursing through her body. Both Kathy and Marcus started to move around in the water with their hands spread out into it seeing if they could find him. Every second he didn’t surface Janice took another step into the water until finally the water was touching her stomach. She was scared and didn’t want to be the reason they couldn’t find him.
While she was looking around in the water a ball of fur launched from under the water and flipped her so she was soaked from head to toe. Janice shot up in the water looking at the object that had thrown her. There was Anjelo, He stood there in wolf form and was laughing at her. Granted it sounded more like he was trying to cough something up, he was still laughing at her none the less.”God Angelo!” Kathy said sighing “You jerk! We thought you had gotten hurt!.” Angelo shook his body and gave a wolf grin. His pants In his mouth he went to shore and put them done. Soon he was charging into the water and splashing water everywhere. Janice yelped as water covered her again. This time she decided that she was going to take pay back Angelo for his little joke. Running at him, if you could call it that in water, she lunged at his back and caused him to loose his footing again and fall into the water.
Kathy and Marcus realized what Angelo was trying to do and soon joined both of them in wolf form. You would have thought they were a bunch of kids how they were zooming in and out of the water, and causing each other to fall into the water multiple times. Janice couldn’t remember the last time she had that much fun, and she didn’t want it to end. The playing around lasted a good minute before a strangled howl shot through the air. Angelo was the first to become alert of their area. Janice haunched down and shot out from the water. Marcus moved to be in front of Kathy. To Janice’s surprise Kathy started to bare her teeth and her hackles raised as she got into a fighting stance
Angelo joined Janice by the table that was at the lake and they both moved slowly from there to the woods. They moved quietly hoping they could find who it was that had given that horrible howl. Once they had entered the woods the howl sounded again. This time it sounded more like it had something lodged in its mouth causing it to gurgle and sound off. Janice glanced at Angelo to see if he had a better idea of where the sound came from. As loud as the sound was the woods had a tendency to create echos and made finding the location of the sound difficult. Angelo stopped moving and tilted his head allowing more sound to come through. Finally the wolfs howl sounded quieter and worse than the last two. Angelo shot off towards the noise and Janice followed. It had been pretty quiet since they had gotten here so hearing someone hurt did not bode well with any of them. Soon Janice and Angelo came across a medium sized wolf that had white fur with patches of grey and black all over it.
Janice paced back and forth in front of Annabelles door. Questions swirling in her head wondering what could have happened to her. She couldn’t get the image of little Annabelle laying on the grown with that rod in her back. From the looks of it it had been rather fresh and was not something that had been sitting in her back since she disappeared. Her breathing was becoming shallower and shallower indicating they did not have a lot of time to get her to a hospital. Janice had jumped forward and maneuvered Annabelle to rest on her back and started to run to the pack house. She could not hear Angelo following her, and hoped that he was sniffing the area out to see if he could find whoever had done this horrible act to her.
