Sleep with me

Tiffany's POV: I had a hot water shower and my body felt much better now. Changing into a comfortable pair of clothes, I went downstairs to check on my son only to find out that Evan was asleep and was in my parents room. “Mom, did Evan have dinner?” I asked my mother. “Of course! Evan is a good child. He was insisting on sleeping here, so I didn't send him up,” Katherine stated. I looked at Evan and leaned down to kiss his forehead, tucking him well into the duvet. “Why didn't you come here before? We called you so many times,” my mother asked me. “Mom, I just wanted a space,” I said. Heading to my parents room, I checked on my son, who was sleeping peacefully. My baby must be tired. I walked to him and pressed a kiss on his forehead. “You took good care of Evan. We are surprised to see how good your son is,” Katherine said and placed her hands on daughter’s shoulders. “Your father broke into tears when you told us you would be coming here.” “I'm sorry for neglecting you all,” I whispered, tilting my head to look at my mother. I placed my hand above hers. “I would like to go out. You should have your dinner with Dad and Caleb,” I stated. “Why do you want to go out? Aren't you tired? And without dinner?” Katherine questioned with a worried look. “Mom, I am here after such a long time. I want to find out what this place looks like now. Please have dinner without me. Just for tonight,” I urged. I had missed a lot in this place and I wanted to freshen those memories. Katherine didn't stop me and asked me to wear a thick coat before going out. I nodded and thanked her for allowing me the space. Dad gave me his car keys, which I accepted and went out. Driving the car, I took in the night beauty of my hometown. I could see couples walking along the streets, which made me recall my old days with my ex. Shaking my head, I pressed the accelerator and drove the car ahead. I stopped outside the famous bar, where I used to go clubbing on the weekends before my marriage. The bass of the music reverberated through the club, a relentless rhythm that matched the pulsing in my temples. Flashing lights illuminated the writhing crowd, their movements hypnotic as they danced to the DJ’s electrifying beats. I had barely stepped through the door after showing my ID, and already I felt the chaotic energy pulling me under. I strode to the bar and ordered a few drinks, the sharp burn of the first shot instantly softening the edges of my thoughts. As I downed a second, my gaze swept across the room and froze on a familiar figure. Aaron Pierce, the notorious heartthrob, stood at the center of attention, surrounded by a group of women, each vying for his attention. “That player,” I muttered with a wry chuckle, shaking my head. I didn’t want him to notice me. Yet, as if drawn by some unseen force, our eyes locked across the room. My breath caught in my throat, and I quickly averted my gaze. “He didn’t see me, did he?” I wondered, though a prickling sensation told me otherwise. Risking another glance, I found his piercing gaze still fixed on me, and my stomach flipped. The last thing I wanted was one of his unsolicited lectures. Ignoring the knot tightening in my chest, I turned back to the bar and ordered another shot—then another. The alcohol coursed through my veins, lightening my head and numbing the ache that had brought me here. Tonight wasn’t about dwelling on my ex marrying my former best friend or the betrayal that had driven me out of the city. Tonight was about forgetting. As the shots blurred my inhibitions, the pounding music called to me. I staggered toward the dance floor, needing to lose myself in the chaos. But just as I reached the edge, my unsteady steps collided with something firm. I looked up, and there he was. Aaron Pierce. His tall frame loomed over me, his sharp features highlighted by the club’s strobe lights. Without thinking, words tumbled from my mouth. “Do you want to sleep with me?” I blurted, my voice loud enough to rise above the music. Even as the words left my lips, I wasn’t sure why I’d said them. Maybe it was the alcohol talking, or maybe it was the desperate need to drown the pain clawing at my chest. Either way, his expression didn’t falter. Aaron’s brows knit together as he caught my wrist when I tried to push past him. “You’re drunk,” he said firmly. “I’ll take you home.” “I’m not drunk,” I retorted, yanking my arm free. “And if you’re not interested because you aren't single, just say so.” “I’m single,” he said simply, his voice steady despite my erratic behavior. The music faded into a distant hum as he leaned closer, his presence overwhelming. Before I could react, he lifted me effortlessly, slinging me over his shoulder. I pounded weakly on his back, demanding he put me down, but he didn’t waver. I wasn’t sure how we ended up in a dimly lit room, the noise of the club now a muffled memory. All I knew was that I had crossed an invisible line the moment I reached for him. Gripping his neck, I pulled him into a kiss, the taste of alcohol mingling between us as I lost myself in the sensation. His lips were firm and intoxicating, and when his tongue parted my lips, the kiss deepened with an intensity I hadn’t known I craved. He grasped my wrists, pinning them against the bed as his mouth claimed mine. The sheer heat of his touch sent shivers down my spine, and I couldn’t help but respond with equal fervor. This kiss—it was unlike anything I’d experienced before. It wasn’t just passion; it was a storm, and I was caught in its center, unable and unwilling to escape. His hands roamed beneath my top, brushing over my skin and tugging at the heavy overcoat I wore. Before I realized it, the coat slipped from my shoulders and fell to the floor. My hands found their way back to his neck, pulling him closer as if the distance between us was unbearable. In this moment, nothing else mattered—not my ex, not the betrayal, not the ache that had driven me here. There was only this man, and the electrifying connection that burned away every other thought.
