Why can’t I wake up?
I don’t know how long I’ve been asleep. Only the Moon Goddess knows. I keep trying to claw my way out of this darkness, again and again, but something keeps pulling me back under. It doesn’t want me to wake up—I can feel it. Whatever it is, it’s powerful, and it’s holding me captive in this endless void.
Something feels wrong. Deeply wrong. But I can’t place it.
Suddenly, a voice cuts through the silence.
"Wake up."
My eyes snap open. My heart pounds violently in my chest. I don’t even know why.
I stand up and quickly scan the room. No one’s here. I’m alone. But I’m certain I just heard someone—no, something—tell me to wake up.
Before I can even make sense of anything, a sound comes from inside my room. My head whips toward the door just as it opens
