Rodney arched an eyebrow. “What question would that be?”
I folded my arms in front of my chest and bit my lower lip. “This. . .this bond between Alec and me. How strong is it?”
He cupped his chin in one hand and furrowed his brow. “Now that is an interesting question.”
“Interesting how?”
“In the sense that you two have delved into the unknown,” he admitted as his eyes reflected his deep thinking. “Or at least the arcane.”
I winced. “Does arcane mean something good in this world?”
He dropped his hand and chuckled. “I use it in the definition of ‘ancient,’ but often times knowledge that has been forgotten should stay forgotten.”
“The arcane stuff has to do with the crystals, doesn’t it,” I guessed.
He inclined his head. “Yes, though also with the blood he gave you.”
