Chapter 6 The party

Anthony pov

When we both got to the pack house, the party was just about to start. I looked around until I found my parents. We both walked over to where my parents were.

"Son, where were you?" asked my father.

"Dad, I went to get Cathy," I said to my father.

"Anthony, today is your eighteenth birthday. Today is also the day you will be taking over as the next alpha king of this pack," my father said.

"OK, dad, I will, but there is something I would like to announce to the pack when you announced me as alpha," I said to my father.

After my small talk with my father, Cathy and I eat and dance together. It seems as if everyone was waiting for me to start the party. Everyone was enjoying themselves and having a good time. It was nearly midnight when I heard my father on the mic.

"Can I get everyone's attention, please?" my father said. "Tonight is my son's eighteenth birthday, and as you all know, it is also the day he will take over as the next alpha king of this kingdom. Son, can you come up on stage, please."

I kissed Cathy on the cheeks and went on stage to stand next to my father.

"Let the ceremony begin," said my father.

"Wait," I said and stopped the ceremony before it even got started. "I know I have to take over the throne tonight as is my birthright, but I will not." I could hear the gasp as I looked at the astonished face of my pack members, even Cathy looked surprised at what I said. "Don't get me wrong," I continue, "I will take over the throne but not without my mate by my side."

"What do you mean by that?" asked my mother.

" Mother, father, fellow pack members as some of you may know I have found my mate, but she is not yet of age." I could see the shock on some of their faces while others were happy for me."Cathy, can you come stand beside me, please?" I watch her as she walks onto the stage shy and shocked that I had called on her.

"Everyone, this is my mate, Cataleya Jones, and she is the daughter of Andrew and Catherine Jones, our pack lawyer and our new pack doctor. You may have seen them around. And I know what some of you are thinking. What am I thinking, or what am I doing, or I can do better than her? Well, let me tell you this before it goes any further. Yes, she is human, and the moon goddess mated me to her for a reason, and I am not going to question her. Right now, many of you young she-wolves are saying that I should reject her and choose one of you. Guess what? It's not going to happen. I will not and never will reject her to please any of you in here, not even my parents can not get me to reject her." I turn to look at my parents and whisper, "I'm sorry."

"It's okay," replied my mother.

"Son, you will not take a human as your mate," answered my father. "When you told me you found your mate and it is her, I thought you were joking, but I can't believe what I am hearing. YOU WILL REJECT HER THIS INSTANT!!! he yelled this time.

It was at that moment that Cathy started shaking and gripping my hand tightly. I have to hug her to try and calm her down, which is not working at the moment because my father was yelling at me to reject her.

"Dad, before I reject her as my mate I rather leave with her," I said to my father. He looked at me, shocked when I said this. "Let me say this to everyone again I will not reject her and take a chosen mate or wait on a second chance mate that I may never get. So dad, what will it be? If I have to reject her, you lose a son or accept her and keep your son, because her parents certainly don't have a problem with us being together. So what is your problem, father? Is it because she is human or are you going to tell me she is weak if that is your excuse, I am not going to disrespect the moon goddess by rejecting my fated mate you decide is not good enough for me."

"You will....."

"EVERYONE JUST STOP,!!!" shouted Cathy. "Anthony, I love you, but I do not want you to abandon your parents or step away from your duties. So here goes nothing. I, Cataleya Jones, rejected you, Anthony Black, as my mate and future alpha."

Suddenly, a wave of pain hit me on my chest like someone was ripping my heart out. I could not believe she would do this. "Cathy, please don't go. Don't do this to us. I love you," I told her.

"I know you love me, but where your father is concerned, I will never be good enough for you. I am not good enough to be luna because I am just a human. I am going to miss you," she told me.

I watched as my mate ran out of the pack house to goddess knows where. Then I see her parents run out after her. "Thanks, a lot dad you got what you wanted. My mate rejected me," I said to my father, "but I am going to say this I Anthony Black future alpha king of Blue Lagoon Pack hereby denounce my title as alpha king, and also I reject you, Daniel Black, as my father and alpha. Thanks for the party, by the way." I watched as my father dropped to the floor in pain, clutching his chest as I walked off the stage to go and find my mate.

Daniel pov

"I reject you, Daniel Black as my father and alpha," I can't believe my son just denounced his title and rejected me as his father. Because I told him he could not have a human as his mate. "Everyone, the party is over. Please get back to your homes," I told the pack. I forgot they were here watching everything. Now I will have to do some damage control. Just as I was about to walk away, my mate stopped me.

"So, you don't want our son to take a human as his mate," she said to me. "Do you remember when you found out we were mates, what your parents told you?"

"What does it have to do with our son?" I asked her.

"Everything," Sandra shouted at me. "This is the same thing your father did to us when we just found out that we were both mated to each other. It is the same thing you are doing to our son, Daniel. Do you want to lose your son or gain a daughter?" she asked me. "It is your choice, Daniel. But let me tell you this I won't forgive if I lose my son. You better deal with this or risk losing me too," she told me.

"No son of mine will take a witch as his mate," my father yelled at me when I introduced Sandra to my father as my mate.

"But, dad, she is my mate. What would you have me do?" I asked my father.

"You better rejected her and let her return to her home," my father replied.

I can't believe I am doing the same thing my father did to me. I am doing to my own son. I have to do something now or risk losing my son and my mate.

"I just ruined my son birthday party and drove his mate to reject him. I have to correct this," I told Sandra my mate.
