PREVIEW
Four Years Later
Cassandra stepped out of the airport, her heels clicking softly against the polished floor as she walked toward the pickup area.
She’s supposed to be here already… where is she?” she muttered, dialing a number on her phone. The call didn’t go through. With a slight frown, she slipped the phone back into her bag and continued waiting.
She removed her sunglasses, scanning her surroundings.
Nothing had really changed in this city… but she had.
The once gentle, innocent girl was gone. In her place stood a woman carved from pain and reborn in fire, beautiful, hot, cold and undeniably captivating.
She had a new face. A new body. A new name. She was once Cassandra Campbell but now she’s Hailey Jorge. And she’s back. For revenge.
This time, she would make sure everyone who destroyed her life paid the price. She must get justice for her parents and what they did to her. She tried going back to the airport hall to check on someone when she collided into a wall. No a man actually and the drink she was holding fell and spilled on the man’s clothes.
“Oh my God, I’m so sorry!” she said quickly, reaching for her napkin.
“Are you blind? Aren’t you supposed to watch where you’re going?”
The voice Cold, sharp and familiar made her looked up quickly and her eyes met with the one person she tried hard to forget for the past four years. Kaden. Her heart skipped and shock flashed across her face, but she quickly masked it with a calm, unreadable expression. Inside her rage burned violently.
This man… and his family… had ruined her life.
Kaden stared at her, his brows furrowing slightly. A strange sense of familiarity washed over him.
She was stunning, beautiful, sexy, intimidating and she somehow looks familiar to him
“Have we met before?” he asked, studying her closely.
Cassandra’s gaze turned icy.
“No. I don’t know you, and we’ve never met before,” she replied flatly. “Sorry for spilling your drink. I can pay for your shirt if you want. She said quickly bringing out a cheque from her bag scribbling an amount on it and handing it over to one of his guards behind him.
She immediately turned, ready to leave.
“Mommy!
A little girl ran toward her, holding a bouquet of flowers.
“My princess,” Cassandra screamed lightly kneeling to hug her tightly. “I missed you so much, baby.”
“Mummy, where’s Daddy?” the little girl asked looking around the airport.
“He went to the restroom. He’ll be back soon, Cassandra replied, standing up.
Where’s your grandma? Cassie asked
She’s over there, the girl said, pointing toward an elderly woman at a nearby shop buying some things
Kaden’s voice came again, laced with surprise.
You’re married?
Cassandra paused, then glanced back at him. Just then a lady with a dark sunglasses and a rich classy vibe walked up to him and throw her hands around him hugging him deeply.
Hey baby you didn’t tell me you’ve landed already, i would have come pick you up.. it was mom that told me you’re coming back today and that’s why I’m here…the lady said kissing his lips again.
When she notice he was not listening or looking at her, she traced his eyes and saw him looking at a lady and a kid.. and she glared at them.
Are you even listening to me at all? She said clearly annoyed.Kaden looked back to her and tried walking off.
Selene I’m not here for your troubles at all today.. Kaden said trying to brush off her hands on him.
Cassie looked at the lady ‘Selene’ Her supposed best friend. They all betrayed her. She will make sure they are unhappy for the rest of their lives. she took her daughter’s hand and walked away without another glance at them.
“Mummy, who is that man?” the little girl asked as they approached their car.
He’s no one, I bumped into him when i was going to get your dad. Cassandra replied quickly. Come on, let’s go meet Grandma and wait for Daddy.
As they walked away, she glanced back briefly.
Kaden was still standing there, with his wife…staring at her.
A slow, knowing smirk curved her lips.
Then she turned and walked off, her steps confident.
The game had just begun. She muttered.
