Her Revenge Chapter 1 – The Love That Started Everything Hey, princess Kaden’s teasing voice echoed behind Cassie as she walked down the wide stone path that led out of the university building. Cassie stopped immediately and turned around, her long hair swinging behind her. He tickled her at the side.she narrowed her eyes at him and made the most exaggerated angry face she could manage. “Stop it!” she protested. Kaden laughed softly, the sound warm and carefree. The late afternoon sun cast a golden glow across the campus, lighting up the tall trees and the elegant university buildings around them. Students were leaving their lectures, chatting and laughing as they headed home. But to Kaden, it felt like the entire world had suddenly gone quiet. All he could see was Cassie. He stepped closer to her, his tall figure towering slightly over hers. Before Cassie could guess what he was about to do, Kaden wrapped his arms around her waist and pulled her gently toward him. Cassie gasped. “Kaden But before she could finish speaking, he leaned down and kissed her softly on the lips.it was a gentle kiss. Cassie tried to push him away, placing her hands on his chest, but the smile that escaped her lips betrayed her. “You’re impossible,” what if people sees us she muttered, trying to sound annoyed. Kaden only smiled wider and muttered an i don’t care. The two of them had known each other for almost eight years Their story had started long before love had ever entered the picture. They had first met when they were just children. Back then, Cassie had been a shy little girl who followed her mother everywhere. Her mother worked as a maid in the Williams family mansion a place so large and luxurious that it almost felt like a palace. Cassie had always felt small whenever she walked through its huge halls. But one day, while wandering through the mansion garden, she met a boy who completely changed that feeling. The handsome boy with curious eyes and a mischievous smile. That boy was Kaden Williams, unlike the other rich children she had seen before, Kaden had never treated Cassie like someone beneath him. He didn’t care that she was the maid’s daughter. He didn’t care that her clothes were simple. He had simply smiled and said, “Do you want to play with me?” From that day forward, they became inseparable. Years passed. Friendship slowly grew into something deeper. When Kaden turned eighteen and Cassie was sixteen, the feelings they had both tried to ignore finally became impossible to hide. And that was when their relationship began. Now, two years later, their love had only grown stronger. Anyone who saw them together could immediately tell they were completely and deeply in love. ‘Ahemm’ The sudden sound of someone clearing their throat shattered the moment. Cassie and Kaden turned around at the same time. Standing a few steps away from them was Selene, her arms crossed as she stared at them with an exaggerated look of annoyance. The sight made both of them burst into laughter. “Hey Selene!” Kaden said. “When did you get here?” Selene raised an eyebrow. “So you didn’t see me standing here the entire time?” she asked. Kaden shrugged shamelessly. Nope. Then he placed an arm around Cassie’s shoulders and grinned. “I only saw my baby.” Cassie immediately pinched his arm. “Ouch!” Kaden cried. “Do you want to kill me?” “Yes,” Cassie replied sweetly. “Since apparently my best friend is invisible to you now.” “Well…” Kaden said dramatically, rubbing his arm. “She’s my friend too.” Selene couldn’t help but smiled at him. she couldn’t hide her smile. Their friendship had lasted for many years. Before Cassie and Kaden became lovers, the three of them had always been together. They studied together, ate together, skipped boring classes together. And occasionally got into trouble together when they were kids. Even after Cassie and Kaden started dating, Selene was never pushed aside. She remained an important part of their lives. Kaden stretched his arms lazily and let out a long sigh. “Well,” he said, “I’m exhausted. Let’s go home. I’m officially done with lectures for today. They were students at one of the most prestigious universities in the country. A university known for producing powerful politicians, famous entrepreneurs, and influential leaders. But although the three of them studied in the same place, their backgrounds were very different. Cassie was there as a scholarship student. Kaden Williams came from one of the richest and most powerful families in the country. His father,Jordan Williams was a highly respected billionaire and an incredibly successful businessman. To the public, Jordan Williams was admired, respected and feared. His wife, Emily Williams was just as successful as him. She had once been one of the most famous fashion models in the country. Now she owned a massive clothing brand that dominated the fashion industry. The Williams family lived surrounded by luxury. Private drivers, luxury cars,Huge mansions and powerful connections. Cassie’s life, however, was completely different. Her father was a poor farmer who raised cattle on their small piece of farmland. Every morning before sunrise, he was already outside working. His hands were rough and scarred from years of hard labor. But he never complained. All he cared about was feeding his family. Cassie’s mother worked as a maid. And not just anywhere. She worked in the Williams family mansion. That was how Cassie had first met Kaden. Selene also came from a powerful family. Her father, Paine Hughes, was the former governor of the country and a close political ally of Jordan Williams. Because of their parents’ connection, Selene often visited the Williams mansion when she was younger. That was how the three children had met. From that day on, they grew up together. Friends, classmates, patners in mischief. And eventually Cassie and Kaden became lovers. “Anyway,” Selene said as she picked up her bag. Just as she was about to leave, something suddenly crossed her mind. “Oh right!” she said. “Gabrielle called me earlier.” Kaden groaned loudly. “Please don’t mention that girl here Selene laughed. “She said the banquet tonight is starting soon. I should go home and get ready.” She pointed playfully at the two of them. “And you two should also get ready as soon as possible.” Kaden rolled his eyes. “My sister is always ready for parties.” Gabrielle Williams was Kaden’s younger sister. She was also a close friend of Selene. But Cassie’s smile slowly faded when Gabrielle’s name was mentioned. Her gaze dropped quietly to the ground. Kaden noticed immediately. “What’s wrong?” he asked gently. Cassie hesitated before answering. “She doesn’t like me.Kaden sighed. “Who cares?” he said firmly. “That’s her problem.” Cassie looked at him. “As long as I love you,” Kaden continued, his voice softer now, “and Selene is still your friend… everything will be fine.” He reached out and gently patted her hair. Selene smiled warmly. “Kaden is right,” she said. She walked over and wrapped Cassie in a tight hug. “I’ll see you both at the banquet tonight.” Then she waved goodbye and walked away. Cassie watched her disappear down the pathway. Soon, only she and Kaden remained standing outside the university building. The sun was beginning to set, coloring the sky with soft shades of orange and gold. Kaden gently took Cassie’s hand in his. “Come on,” he said softly. But Cassie hesitated. “The banquet tonight…” she murmured. Kaden turned to look at her. “Are you sure your parents will accept me as your girlfriend?” Kaden frowned slightly. “I told you to stop worrying about that.” Cassie looked uncertain. “I know your father likes me,” she said slowly. “But your mother… she only sees us as friends.” Kaden shook his head. “You think too much.” He gently lifted her chin so she could look directly into his eyes. “We’ll be fine. I promise. Cassie nodded slowly. “Let’s go,” Kaden said with a smile. Together, they left.
