The Last Blood

A long time ago, a village called Udo, a land of peace and harmony, a land of fertile soil and its soil produces large harvest. The people all over the world came over to make purchases from them at extremely cheap rates and this made the village very popular and rich. Suddenly, they were ambushed and everybody was killed. Not even a soul was spared including the buildings. Everything was burnt down. That was the end of that village. Two years later, a boy woke up at a river bank, tossed and turned. The opened his eyes wondering who he was and what he was doing there but his eyes met a wolf. Not just a wolf, an alpha wolf. He knew the wolf was not alone. Immediately, there was a rush and he had to run faster than his legs could carry him because this was his stand between life and death. Half way through the run, he realized that he had been badly injured. He almost had his butt ripped off but luckily for him, it was a piece of his trouser that was caught in the wolfs teeth, leaving his underwear peeking out of his trouser. Then he heard a sound and turned his neck only to see the wolf about to pounce on him. “Damn it! I thought I had gotten past this creature”, he thought to himself. Within a split second, an arrow passed him and went straight into the mouth of the wolf. The wolf fell to the ground groaning. It had missed its prey and was about to lose its life. A new set of wolves appeared from nowhere and from that moment, the boy lost consciousness. At exactly six months later, he found himself on the sick bed in a hospital. After he had regained some strength, he was taken to the council of elders and the king. He had two hybrid wolves sitting beside him. “Young man, what exactly is your aim?” they asked. Ricardo, the young man, looking at the wolves kept shivering and could not utter a word. He realized himself and began to talk – My aim is to achieve my goal and my goal is to fulfil my mission and my mission is to do that which I must do. “What must you do?” One of the elders interrupted and Ricardo was silent. A loud voice responded “Will you speak up, kid”. Ricardo kept shivering, he was lost for words. He could barely look into the eyes of the men seated infront of him talk less about the deadly wolves. Someone came to his side all dresses in black as if waiting to execute him if he was not ready to talk. Ricardo urinated in his pants. He heard a snap of the kings’ finger as if to say “Execute”. Ricardo shut his eyes tight and said his last prayer. He was too tired to even make himself heard or understood. To him, they could carry out whatever they wanted to do. After waiting a while, he realized that he was still standing. Nothing had happened to him. He opened his eyes. The men were staring at him and one of the wolves stood beside him. The king spoke – What is it you must do, my boy? Many thoughts ran through Ricardo’s head but he had to muster courage to say something or else he would be gone in a second.” That which I must do is that which must be done” He responded. The king looked at him. You are very brave, my boy. I will be your godfather. Your secret name will be gentle reaper and you will be the next in line after me. The elders began to murmur. “Silent!” The King said. Nobody will question my decision and he dismissed all of them. Finally, he got tp his room. As he was entering, he felt a tap on his shoulder and he turned. A hot slap landed on his face. He turned and saw it was one of the elders. Apparently, the elders were jealous of his because of the decision that the king had made. Ricardo could not say a word. Two weeks later, Ricardo received a royal invite from the king to have dinner with him. The thought of eating the royal food stirred up so much joy in his heart. He kept jumping and jumping to the extent that his neighbors came to find out what was going on. The diner night was here and Ricardo went to the king’s court. He was directed by the royal servants to the bouquet. The king was seated already, there was a lot of food on the table. The king said the blessings and they started eating. Ricardo knew that he had to be on his best behavior. As they ate, they discussed. The king looked at Ricardo and asked “What will you like to do with your life, my son”. He stopped eating and started talking. I want to be educated and strong and protect the few people I love. A while ago, my parents were wiped off the land with the rest of my community. I want to have capacity to help peradventure something like that occurs again”. The king was surprised. It was a mixture of different emotions. He was sad about the loss of Ricardo’s parents and community but he was impressed about his determination to prevent it from happening again. “You know you cannot save the whole world, my boy. You must do your best but not put your life on the line,” He replied. “Papa, we can go to Shieru academy together”, Amaka the daughter of the king screamed in excitement. Knowing that her father always listened to her. The king nodded. He thought it was a great idea and it was thoughtful of Amaka. He had always taught her to be considerate of strangers. Ricardo told them how he was told that he was in coma for a very long time and how he woke up when the doctors had given up and were about to dispose his body. He talked about his encounter with wolves and everything that led him to meeting the king. He was grateful that the king had mercy on him. When they were done eating, Ricardo was about to leave. The king and Amaka escorted him to the door. Immediately the door opened, they screamed. Nobody knew it was this dark already as the palace was so bright. The king tapped Ricardo’s shoulder and asked him to spend the night in the palace. He could not risk his life on the road when he had such a place to pass the night and Ricardo readily agreed. Amaka showed him to an empty room. The servants brought him a new set of pajamas, a towel and some bathing soap. They also brought him a new toothbrush. He took a bath and slept off, he was a bit tired from the day. The morning is here. “Breakfast time is here” the servant in charge of food said as she rang the siren. They all went to the table to eat apart from the king. He had not woken up. It was just Ricardo and Amaka at the dining table. There was scrambled egg, shrimps, salad, bread and so many more things to eat. Ricardo was elated. He loved food. He had to wait for the chef to come crosscheck the table and for Amaka to say the blessings before they start eating. When the chef had crosschecked, Amaka said the prayers as their custom was and they started eating. Ricardo ate and ate but Amaka ate little. Immediately they were done, Amaka took Ricardo for a stroll. They got to the place where Amaka’sfavorite cookie shop was and she asked Ricardo if he would like some cookies and of course, he said replied in affirmative. Ricardo remembered his family and he felt very sad. Hs countenance changed. His countenance always changed when he remembered his family. Amaka noticed and asked him what the problem was. He told her and she assured him that the cookies would cheer him up. She also assured him that she was there for him. She went into the shop and came out with so many bags of cookies and they left to the house. Amaka took him to a special garden. She told him how the garden made her happy but it did not change how Ricardo was feeling. Amaka held his hand to console him. She shed one or two tears thinking about all that Ricardo had gone through in his life and thankful that he was alive. Ricardo narrated more of his experiences to her especially those he did not talk about at the dinner table with the king. Amaka was amazed. She assured him that this was in the past and that things would get better for him henceforth. “It’s time for us to go indoors. Dinner time is approaching and my father would be worried but I am too full. I ate a lot of cookies” Amaka said. Ricardo tugged at her telling her that she would definitely eat something.             They hopped inside happily. The day had been a beautiful one for them.                    Amaka  rushed into the room, and woke him saying “Today is my birthday, go get me a gift ”he smiled “mine is also today’ he said, “October 2nd ?” she asked,” yeah , so go get me a birthday gift also” he replied. Then they both went to get each other a gift, Amara (Pontiff’s wife) was so happy to see them play along, especially her daughter because she had refused t o associate with people in the past, except for the man she buys cookies from, but now she is coping with Ricardo, she left to get things for them.                   Finally they’ve arrived at the market, Ricardo entered a*****e, Amaka entered a different store and they began to search for the perfect gift to give each other as a birthday gift. She searched and searched but couldn’t get what she was searching for, with sadness on her face, she decided to leave the store. Suddenly she tripped on something and fell down with a necklace, but not just a necklace, a twin necklace. Then she smiled and bought the necklace. Ricardo, being such a dummy, wanted to get her some cookies alone “come to think of it, I will be crazy if I get only this for her” he said and his eyes went to a teddy store, he paid for the cookies he took and went into the teddy store to buy one. On reaching there, he sighted the most beautiful teddy bear and went straight to take it but it was too late, there was another hand on it at the same time, they looked at each other and wanted to fight but an arctophile stopped them but he found out that it was going to cause trouble if nothing is done on time. “ Time to make some money” he said, “ huh?” they replied, trying to bounce on him “ woah , woah take it easy , cos it is gonna go for auctioning, now let’s bid the price” he said. “12 rupees” said a man beside the counter, “20 rupees” a young girl said. It became really interesting that people began to bid.”21 rupees”, “22 rupees”, “30 rupees” Ricardo bided, he bided again “40 rupees”, everyone in the store was shocked and kept quiet and Arctophile picked the teddy bear and was about to give it to Ricardo but Ricardo was so happy that he quickly rushed to take the bear, but suddenly a voice said “60 rupees” then the store became noisy once again and people began to praise him, then he stated bragging saying “do you know who I am, I’m the boss here” the Arctophile stopped, looked at Ricardo and smiled, he turned with an angry face but the boy laughed and asked the man to get the teddy bear. “I guess you lost” said the man moving over to the boys side.”                      Wait” Ricardo said and the people stopped and looked at him “100 rupees” he said, people began to murmur and the noise continued, he began to bring out this rupees and the kid left. Oops, he brought out 10 rupees and the people in the store began to laugh at him saying “he’s claiming to be rich when he is poor”, the boy heard that from outside the store,  came in and began to laugh at Ricardo and began to step forward to take the teddy bear, Ricardo became sad and wanted to cry. Suddenly a small bag fell out of Ricardo’s pocket and he picked it, inside it was exactly 100 rupees, he smiled, rushed and dropped the money in front the Arctophile, people began to marvel at what on and the gift was given to him, he left and went home, without waiting for Amaka, to hide and package the gift for her so she won’t see it.                       Night came and this time with a full moon and a lot of stars. “Amaka, Ricardo it’s time” said Amara , then they went outside, (BOOM!) Surprise!!! Everybody shouted and they smiled looking at them, they went to stand in front of the table, where their cake was kept, behold it was a twin cake, half chocolate and half vanilla. They made their wishes and blew the candles. They sang the birthday song then it was time to eat, visitors started having a slice of cake. Ricardo wanted to have a slice but Amaka stopped him and took him inside, with the cake, to her room. When they got inside Amaka threw away the spoons and said “Let us munch it” then they began to eat it carelessly, not minding their parent’s background with two cans of soda. After eating they fell on the floor and could not move but Ricardo managed to leave and get his gift for Amaka. When she saw the gift (which was the teddy bear) she quickly grabbed it and hugged it because she was freak of teddy bears. “oh I remember” she said bringing him out the gift she bought for him. “Close your eyes” she said, “why” asked Ricardo, but she insisted that he closed his eyes. He closed his eyes then Amaka told him open it and he saw her putting on a necklace, he felt something on his neck and found out he was wearing the same necklace because it was a twin necklace and from that day on it never left their neck. 10minutes later, they finished the donuts and fell asleep.                 After the party, Nedu and his wife came to check on them and found them sleeping on the floor with pieces of cake on their clothes and their mouths covered in chocolate and they smiled left them on the floor to fantasize but cleaning up the things around them and their mouths because it s said that whenever a kid falls asleep while eating on the floor, that kid gets access to the enchanted world and become whatever they want to be, so Nedu and his wife closed the door. NIGHT FADES.     Finally morning comes seeing them on the floor and when they woke up , they found themselves laying on the floor and things around them has been cleared , even their mouth was cleaned . Hearing snoring, they turned and found their parents sleeping on the floor with them and they started starring at them with a happy smile and wanted to leave, they woke up “ good morning  “ they greeted . Standing up , nedu replied them saying “ how are you “ which they replied back saying that they are fine , they hugged each other and went to catch fun. Few hours later, nedu called to them to prepare to travel tomorrow for study in shieru academy, he left. Next day approaches, it’s sun rise already and they began to bring their bags out and it was kept at the back of a royal chariot. about to get in  to the royal horse , oh I almost forgot , yea they said and rushed in to the empire  , where are you going kids , he asked saying  it is almost time , we are coming they said entering the empire . When they got there , they kissed their bedroom , the whole bedroom , the whole bedroom including the floor saying oh I am going to miss you baby , take care till I come home , they left and went to meet their parents . finally they began their journey in to the academy ,  nedu and his wife began to equip them on journey they have chosen to embark , he started saying long time ago , shieru academy was formerly known for deadly martial arts and wicked assassination under a war lord , the great supreme king, Ark Nova . Ark Nova was the best assassin of all time, even till now , shieru was formerly called acre kingdom before the great war lord regime , who converted the kingdom in to a monster kingdom and changed the name to shieru academy . He became an assassin at the age of 13, executing missions only with his team . Other teams were equal to thousands of armies but his team alone is equal to hundreds of thousands of armies due to their skills. A day came when the second supreme pontiff of his time died without placing an heir to his throne and this made the kingdom wreck in chaos and all of them went gaga who desired for the seat to be a supreme king , began to hate each other and started killing themselves especially anyone who comes in their way of becoming the next supreme King . Then a challenged was set up by the counsels of Elders to determine which leader and his team has to win the challenge and his or her team sect . Any of the sect. 1 that wins and still stands, will become the Supreme king of the kingdom and his team mates will be the Elders of the kingdom. Warning sect 2-4 teams are highly excluded in the challenge. involving yourself in this risky challenge is dangerous and not just your life , also you are as well keeping your team mates’ at risk and none of the team ranging from sect 2-5 joined the challenge except Ark’s and his team who refused to back down and he joined with his  strongly behind him . As Day after day began to pass  by , people began to die , some die in front of their wives and families while having good time with their them and their heads were taken off right there before them , many were ambushed while as sleep . due to this , many teams began to merge with each other , many were busy creating alliance with each other due to also the toughness of some teams and some to gain great advantage over each other but Ark refused to merge to merge , refused to form an alliance with any team and none of them came to them coz they were considered the weakest team in the challenge , also they are from sect 2 and are likely to be eliminated at any given time , as teams began to die in the sect 1 . One morning, the leader of the diva team woke up and went outside to urinate, before he could, he found out that he has already been surrounded by two teams , a merged team and an ally , and they began to battle but he was no match for all of them and he died including his team all died during deep sleep . Finally Ark and his team were found  in a known hideout  by a merged team and their allies after 300 teams  has been wiped off and they said little kids  and a team went to eliminate coz they have realized who they are battling with . Suddenly heads flew up and all of them died in a slice of Arc’s weakest team mate but there was no blood in his sword and his moves was not seen by any of them except his team mates. Before they could know what was happening , he has met them and passed through them with a slice and from  that day , they started encountering  more  and dangerous enemies than before ,  they stopped hiding moving towards the central core , where  the last team standing will be seen and be declared the winner . On their way to the central core, they were encountering dangerous animal beasts  and its owner . The sect 1 are the ones who own and controls their own beasts, especially the dangerous sect 1 teams. Ark’s team fought and fought,  thinking that they will inflict injury on them but none of them was left with a scratch until a day came while they were walking in the forest and  were  ambushed by the top 30 dangerous teams . They fought and was trying to catch up with but could not , were about losing their morale.
