Ana and Dustin

“You are even more beautiful now than when we last saw each other. I’m not sure how that is possible though. I heard you studied abroad. What did you study?” Dustin has always had a crush on Ana. He was always too shy to ask her out. “I went to France to learn cooking and painting. It was very beautiful there. I heard you run your own business. That’s very impressive Dustin.” Truth be told she always had a crush on Dustin too. They just were both afraid to tell each other. “You are a chef and a painter? That is impressive as well. Do you still like spaghetti and garlic bread though?” Ana laughed, “of course it is. I am surprised you remembered.” Dustin chuckled, “you know Ana, I always had a huge crush on you. I was just too afraid to tell you.” Ana sat back on her chair staring at Dustin. “I’m sorry I should have kept that to myself.” “I had a crush on you as well Dustin. I was afraid you would reject me, so I never told you.” They both laughed. “Well I guess we grew up since then.” Ana smiled and nodded. Ana got up and started to cut lettuce for a nice salad. “Do you have tomatoes, bacon, and all the fixings for a salad?” “It should all be in the fridge. You remembered how I like my salad?” Ana giggled, “of course I remembered. I always loved my salads the same way.” Once supper was finished they sat down to eat with some wine to drink. “It has been so nice being here with you Dustin. I always figured you had found your mate by now.” “I never found a mate Ana. Didn’t you find your mate though?” “No I’m afraid not. I don’t think I have one.” “I believe there is someone out there for you Ana. The Moon Goddess works in mysterious ways.” Ana knew that was true, but she always had a pull towards Dustin. She just never understood what it meant and thought it was friendship. After dinner they got up and washed their plates and cleaned up from cooking. “There all done. Ana would you like to sit by a fire on the deck?” Ana smiled she loves sitting next to fires. “Do you have stuff for s’mores though?” Dustin chuckled, “you know I do. I’ll get the stuff and then I’ll build a fire in the pit.” They both walked out on the deck and Ana gasped. “This is so beautiful Dustin. It looks like someone painted the scenery.” “It is one of the best features of this place. I fell in love with it before I had this cabin built.” “I could definitely drink my morning coffee out here and watch the sun kiss the waterfall and lake as it rises.” Dustin was amazed, it was like she was inside his head. “Maybe sometime you can come watch the sunrise out here.” “Really?! Oh thank you, I’d love that so much.” They both sat down by the fire and made a couple s’mores each. “I have had the best night Dustin. Thank you for or a lovely evening. I needed this.” Dustin looked at her. The glow on her skin was beautiful. “You are welcome here any time Ana. I needed this as well.” Dustin walked up to Ana and grabbed to hand to help her stand up. They both gasped as they both felt sparks. Ana had tears in her eyes. “You mean we were mates this whole time and never realized it?” They both laughed. “I had always dreamed that you would be my mate Ana. I’m so glad we finally know.” “My grandma will be ecstatic that we finally know we are mates.” Dustin grumbled, “now she’s going to have an even bigger ego about it.” They both laughed and headed out for a run. Ana shifted into her wolf. Dustin gasped, “You are beautiful.” She was pure white. Dustin couldn’t believe his eyes. He shifted into his and it was Ana’s turn to admire him. They ran and played for hours near the lake and waterfall. Finally they headed back to the cabin and shifted back. “I can’t believe you are pure black while I am pure white. It is amazing.” “I was shocked too. What is your wolfs name Ana?” “Her name is Sif. What is your wolfs name?” “His name is Thor. Weird, they are named after the Greek god Thor and his wife Sif.” Ana nodded in agreement. “I suppose I should get home. Grandma will probably be worried that I haven’t called her.” Dustin walked over and wrapped his arms around her. “How about you call her and you stay the night with me instead.” Dustin was hopeful but would not be mad if she said no. “Would you be able to take me to my apartment so I an check on my puppy though?” “You have a puppy? What kind?” Ana chuckled, “She is a Border Collie and very smart.” “Why don’t we go pick her up and she can come stay the night as well?” Ana was so excited and hugged Dustin. “Thank you. I think she would love that. Shall we go get her?” Dustin laughed and grabbed his car keys. “Let’s go get your puppy. What is her name?” “Her name is Trudy, which means strength.” “I like that.” They made it to Ana’s apartment. They both walked to the door to see it was opened. “Wait here I’ll check it out.” Dustin walked inside seeing if he could pick up a scent. “What is that awful smell Dustin?” Dustin ignored her for a moment. He did not see anyone in the apartment so far. Ana turned the lights on to see it was completely destroyed. “Who would do such a thing?” Ana was beside herself. Suddenly the smell became even more pungent. Ana saw this hideous man half wolf coming towards her. Dustin came up behind him and restrained the rogue. “What are you doing here? What do you want with her?” “I was given money to take her to the alpha.” “Which alpha?” “The Red pack alpha. He gave me a lot of money to deliver her.” “Here is my suggestion, go as far away from here as you can and don’t come back. Take a shower and use that money to start a new life.” Dustin threw him out and shut the door. “What would he want with me? I’ve never met him before. Oh no Trudy baby are you ok? Where are you?” Trudy came running up to her from behind the couch. “Is she ok Ana?” Trudy jumped around and licked Ana, making them both giggle. “I’d say she is perfectly fine. What am I going to do though Dustin?” “We are going to go over to your grandma’s and ask her. First we need to get you some belongings so you can stay with me. I’ll help grab stuff for Trudy as well.” Ana didn’t argue, she hurriedly got what she could and what she needed. “We will come back later and get more stuff.” Ana nodded and finished up. They arrived at Mrs. Matthews house and they went in. Mrs. Matthews was sitting at the table. “Hello darlings, how was your dinner?” “It was really good grandma. We will get into that later. Someone broke into my apartment. The Red pack alpha sent someone to kidnap me and take me to him. Why would he want me?” Mrs. Matthews gasped and became terrified. “Grandma what do you know?” “You both need to sit down and Dustin please call your sister and Miles over. Tell them it is very important. I will be back in here in a moment. I have a call I have to make.” Mrs. Matthews went into her room and called Harold. “Harold, we have a problem. Stan has sent a rogue to kidnap Ana. We need to tell them about everything. Please come quickly.” She hung up and walked back into the kitchen. “I’m going to start some coffee and it will be a long night. Please what is said don’t let that make how you feel about me and your father change.” Dustin and Ana were completely confused. “Grandma we will always love you. And Dustin will always love his father.” Mrs. Matthews looked at them and smiled. “You are mates aren’t you?” Dustin groaned and Ana lightly nudged him. “Yes grandma we are. We found out earlier. How did you know?” “It is a gift from my great grandmother. Her name is Selene.” “Her name is the same as the Moon Goddess.” Ana smiled at the name. “My great grandmother is the Moon Goddess Ana. We are descendants of Selene. That is why you have a pure white wolf.” Ana’s mouth was hanging open completely flabbergasted at the news she was given. “You would have found out on your 21st birthday. Selene comes to us on our 21st birthdays and bestows upon us special gifts. Mine is helping others find their mates among other things.” “Wow I just can’t believe it.” Ana say there in shock.
