"Damn it! why me again?" Complained a heavy pregnant woman, accusingly. "Come on it's your party anyway so, let's just sacrifice you to ease our curiosity" Said another woman shoving the expectant lightly. "Yeah, at one point I thought Lizzie was into you..." Commented another one, excitedly. "Hurry up before she comes back!" Suggested another one. "I don't wanna die young..." Said the expectant with a sigh. "What is it?" Came a woman's voice as she approached the table where she was greeted by everyone with an excited secret smile. "They want to know my first impression of you" Supplied the expectant with a shake of her head at their absurdity. "I'm intrigued" Said the Lizzie getting comfortable in her spot. She hated the night life but, looking now at what opportunity it gave her... She wasn't complaining. "Right?" The first woman to ask the question commented, satisfied. "Oh, not you too!" Said the expectant slapping the hand of the naughty Lizzie. "What? ... I'm just curious of what you saved me on your phone" Said Lizzie innocently. "No peeking!" Warned Melody securing her phone away from Lizzie, "But, I'll tell you guys if this will mean you getting off my back" "You have my word" Said the audience in sync. "Like it has any assurance coming from you guys!" Reprimanded the expectant dryly. "Come on shower me with compliments" Said Lizzie mischeviously. "The first time I saw you..." Started off the expectant with shy voice not really able to meet Lizzie's intense gaze. "History class?" Pried Lizzie curiously. "I wish!.. I first saw you in the library with your big glasses on chewing on your lip while doing some assignments and that got me thinking 'can she be any cuter'?" Replied the expectant, reminiscing on their past days. "And what about now, Melody?" Asked Lizzie with her face just inches away from the expectant's face. "Just a narcissist!" Said Melody flicking on Lizzie's nose to stop her advances. Lizzie didn't know what to expect from Melody or what Melody wants from her but, she realized that she'll never go public with her. She'll always be a dish on the side and she hated it. For once in her life she wanted something much more than she could ever control. Something bigger than her capability... She wanted to be seen. Was that too much to ask?. "Wow, look at the time!. I...I gotta go!" Said Lizzie in hurry before she took her purse and stood to leave only to be held by their friend, Laura. "I'm coming with you" "And why would you do that?" "Because, we came together?" "Such a parasite!" "And what a good driver you are even when you're drunk" "Whatever..." Flipped Lizzie on Laura before waving on everybody they were leaving seated, "See guys in life" She couldn't find the strength in her heart to bid goodbye to Melody because, her rejection hurt. "Are you okay?" Asked Laura when they arrived at the parking lot, waiting for Lizzie's car to be brought by the valet. "Why can't I be okay?" "Lizzie, I'm your friend and I know you guys" "Whatever you think is going on between me and Melody_" "I know you two are a thing" "We're not dating!" Yelled Lizzie in annoyance. And it was the truth. Even though she was the first one in Melody's life but, she had to stay hidden and watch her lover get married to the love of her life and now expecting their first child together and still stringing her along... What they have? Is just a home wrecking syndrome and that night Lizzie decided to put an end to it completely. Can she do it after being f**k buddies for six years?
