The Second Chance

Episode 2

"A bagel please and coke, thanks!" She motioned to the cafeteria staff before turning to Sasha "You said that?! Girl please, I don't know you" Penny laughs as she heard about her encounter with Ryan.

"Thanks, Penn, that made me feel so much better" she responded sarcastically.

"C'mon, that's probably nothing, he said it himself, it was in the past, stop overthinking"

Sasha on the other hand widened her eyes as she spotted Ryan coming over, along with two other guys. One of them has long hair tied, he has fit muscular physic, he was ruggedly hot; the other is quite the opposite, clean hair cut, neatly dressed, also fit and charming with a hint of mysteriousness.

"Speaking of which... Oh no, I think he's coming over" she whispered.

The guys reached their table.

" Girl, seriously? Relax! " Penn rolled her eyes.

" Hey, Penn! And Hi to you gorgeous!" The guy with the long hair, sitting next to Sasha. "I'm Dylan, and you must be Angel?"

Sasha furrowed in confusion.

Was he talking to me

"I'm sorry? I think you're mistaken, I'm Sasha not Angel" she corrected.

" Really? 'coz I'm sure as heck you look like one" then he winked.

" Oh, not bad..." she laughed, they all did too.

"Really? You get girls with that cheesy pick-up lines?" The other guy teases him.

"Oh yeah? You think you're better than me now? Show us yours then"

" Nope, I don't do that cheesy crap, they just come to me" he shrugged. " By the way, I'm Mikey, and you met Ryan right? I saw you two already bonded earlier" He teased.

" Oh that, yeah, I just had some files to check with him...nice to meet you Dylan and Mikey" she smiled.

"...and I'm Penny, nice meeting everyone!" She said jokingly, and everyone laughed.

Ryan silently digs into his food, just laughing with his friends' silly banters.

Dylan went on with his funny stories, making everybody laughed until they all finished their lunch.

As they walk back to their posts, "Hey Ryan, I'm sorry about earlier, I was being careless" Sasha shyly apologized.

"Don't be bothered, it's fine, I'm sure you don't mean to offend, not that I'm offended, just to be clear, we're good" he smiled easing her guilt.

"If you say so, okay then" she also smiled in response "By the way, when can I get to check the rest of the materials? You know Penn's kinda stressing out with the whole thing." She chuckled.

" Well, I'll be done by tomorrow, don't worry, it's not just you, she's pestering, she's been nagging me the whole week already, it was a relief for me that it was you now that I'm dealing with...no offense to Penn, but she can be a little stressful at times."

Penn, not so far away from us, heard her name and turned to us

" Did I hear my name? What was that?" With her brows furrowed.

"I was just telling you best friend here how wonderful you are as a colleague" he lied and winked at me.

" Y-yes he was, that is why I'm so proud of you my Pennylane," she said agreeing. "Let's go! I think there's still a lot that we have to finish, yes? Thank you guys, for a fun first company lunch" she smiled while pulling Penny away.

"I think I like her already" Dylan jump to Ryan's shoulder "what do you think of her?"

" I think she's okay, she seemed nice" he responded

" Yes, I think so too" Dylan smiled, happy hearing the agreement from his friend.

For some reason, he felt quite irritated that Dylan has an interest in her.

What's wrong with you Ryan? Dang! He thought to himself.

"You better not be fooling around her bro" he warned him.

" Whoa! Who are you? Are you her brother or what?" Surprised by what Ryan has said.

He felt his face warming up, but he has to quickly turn things around and recover.

"I'm just saying...I'm sure you wouldn't like Penny kicking your ass if she learns that you hurt her best friend, would you?" He faked a laugh.

" Oh no, that girl can be crazy," Mikey said laughing, making all of them laugh too.

" I guess you guys are right!" Dylan said with his hands up in the air as a sign of defeat.

What Dylan and Ryan didn't notice is that they both turned to where Sasha is and his lips curved to a smirk and a sweet gaze from the other, significantly, both at the same time.
