“Pick the damn phone!” My voice twisted as I panicked. My grip around my phone tightened as I tried calling Collins over and over again, yet there was no response.
“Call me immediately you get this.” I said into the phone and sent the voicemail. My heart thumped so loudly, I feared it’d jump right out of my chest.
“I warned that bastard!” I cried into empty space, pulling my hair as I paced back and forth from one end of my room to the other.
I tried to stay calm.. to relax and wait for Collins to return my call and then we’d figure out a way to settle this storm. But the more I tried to quiet the turmoil in my head, the worse it became.
Finally, my phone rang and I immediately answered it. “Where the hell have you been, young man?” I barked into the phone.
