On Monday, Lily waited at the school gates to confirm her suspicions. She saw Cade and Cass walking down the street together, and he had his arm around her. She felt the jealousy festering in her chest.
She purposely stood in their way, "I knew it! You two are dating!"
Other students that were walking by, stopped and looked at them. Cass exchanged looks with Cade, then back at Lily.
"Yeah," Cade held Cass's hand, "and I couldn't be happier."
Cass wasn't sure what to say to her, she felt she had betrayed her, she smiled apologetically as she thought of what she could say.
"Save it, I always knew it would end this way. You won, okay? He doesn't like me, he likes you," Lily pouted.
She rubbed her eyes with a frustrated hand and walked away.
