Chapter 35: First Day at Work

Dressed in a security guard uniform, Chen Xuan walked into the security room and greeted the two guards from yesterday. "Hey, guys, we didn’t know each other before, but now we’re friends. My name's Chen Xuan, just call me ‘Chen Ge’ from now on."
The two guards twitched their mouths. Damn it, they had never seen anyone so bold on their first day at work. However, considering Chen Xuan's formidable strength and his relationship with the boss, they wisely decided to accept the situation and let him have his way.
And so, Chen Xuan began his "job" as a security guard. However, his approach was nothing like the usual—he acted like a king, doing absolutely nothing, except occasionally ogling the passing women near the security room.
At that moment, as Chen Xuan was leaning at the door of the security room, whistling at a passing beauty, a sports car pulled up. Liu Rufeng glanced at Chen Xuan with some disdain and drove past quickly.
"What’s up with that little prick?" Chen Xuan frowned, watching Liu Rufeng’s car disappear in the distance. That guy doesn’t have good intentions towards Master’s wife. He’s up to something. But as long as I’m around, he won’t get his way.
Just before noon, Chen Xuan’s phone rang. When he saw the caller ID, he smiled and answered, "Hey, beautiful. Miss me already?"
"Stop talking nonsense," Xiao Yuhan’s calm voice came through the phone. "I have something to do tonight, and I need you to come with me."
Chen Xuan thought for a moment and then agreed, "Alright, come pick me up tonight."
Not long after, Liu Rufeng drove past the security room again. He looked at Chen Xuan coldly and said, "Kid, I don’t care what your relationship with Shuyi is, but you better stay away from her. Otherwise, I won’t hesitate to make sure you disappear from this world."
Threatening me? Chen Xuan sneered. After all the years of being pushed to the edge by my two masters, do you think I’d be scared of some empty threat?
When Liu Rufeng drove away, Chen Xuan chuckled to himself. He wasn’t going to let that guy get the best of him.
After work, instead of going to find Qin Shuyi or Li Wei'er, Chen Xuan hailed a taxi and went back to the jade market. Unfortunately, after wandering around both inside and outside the market for a while, he didn’t find anything useful.
"It looks like I’ll need to try another place next time," Chen Xuan thought. Eastling City was large, and there was definitely more than one jade market. He wasn’t discouraged.
In the afternoon, Li Wei'er sent a message to Chen Xuan telling him to grab a bite to eat by himself as she and Qin Shuyi would be back later. Chen Xuan didn’t think much of it since he already had plans for the evening.
At 5 PM, Xiao Yuhan arrived, driving a sports car. She was dressed in an expensive evening gown, clearly preparing for some kind of gathering.
Upon seeing her elegant appearance, Chen Xuan’s eyes lit up. This woman was definitely in the same league as Master’s wives in terms of beauty!
To be honest, Chen Xuan had seen plenty of beautiful women before. Master’s wife Lin Suyi, Second Master’s wife Zhao Nanchu, and even Qin Shuyi were all breathtaking beauties. Even Jiang Wushuang and Li Wei'er were not far behind.
But in terms of pure beauty, Xiao Yuhan was the only woman Chen Xuan had met so far who could rival his three Masters’ wives.
Xiao Yuhan got out of the car, looking at Chen Xuan, who was still wearing his old, shabby clothes. She raised an eyebrow and said, "Let’s go. We need to get you a new outfit."
Chen Xuan scratched his nose and said with a grin, "I say, Miss Xiao, you’re not really planning to keep me, are you? I should warn you in advance, I’m pretty expensive."
Xiao Yuhan rolled her eyes and replied, "Don’t worry, I’m not blind."
