Richard joined the military lab scientists in their researches, they needed all the help available. Elsa was among the survivors and has set up a little lab for her research. She was Dr Hatchet's colleague; sadly he was too close to the scene and was squashed to death. Luckily for them, she was able to take a glance of his research work before the incident. She wasn't sure of what she was doing but, she was willing to give it a trial, anything for this monsters to go away.
So many formulae were tried and tested, sometimes there were little explosion, fire, and even foamy substances erupting from the mixed chemicals. In some cases there were no reactions. They carried this research for days to months, buried underground without sunlight. And all they ate were crumbs and canned food.
