The surgery took four hours and to the glory of God.
Abigail was very happy, she went on her knees on hearing the surgery was successful,she rolled on the floor showing gratitude to God for answered prayers over her mom's surgery.
Her mom was to be discharged by weekend, she can't wait till then.
She has to resume back to work in Lagos, she bought all the necessary drugs.
Around 7pm in the evening, her mom woke up, she had been unconscious throughout the surgery session.
She was really very Abigail, she rushed towards her mother, hugged her tight.
Mama how're you?
You got us all worried, you've been unconscious for three days now mom. Abigail lamented.
"My daughter, how're you, how is Lagos, how have you been my dearest daughter, how have you been?
Don"t bother about me, I will not die until I carry my grandchildren in my hands by God's grace.
Amen mama, Thank God you are fine now. You had surgery mama and it was successful, so goodbye to all the chest pains and discomfort mom. You're very okay health wise now. She replied
Thanks so much my daughter for everything you do, may God continue to bless you for always seeing to every of my needs and troubles and that of your siblings, I appreciate you so much my dear,God bless you abundantly.
You're welcome mama, just lay back and rest, you need all the rest you can get to speed up your recovery.
Mattew, come go get food for mama from the hospital's eatery, she has to eat food first so she can take her drugs and catch some sleep (she stretches out her ATM card to her younger brother)
She was left alone with mama in the ward.
My daughter, how have you been? How is work? I have missed you so much. Everyone has been asking about you, it's been awhile you came home to spend time with us as one big happy family.
Mama, I apologize.
Work is fine,we thank God.
God has been helping me survive.
Immediately you're discharged, we will go back home together, so I can spend more time with you and my brothers.
Don't bother about me mama, we should focus more on you getting better so you can be discharged on time. (Abigail replied her mother.
I am doing just fine now my daughter, I feel strong than ever. We can leave right away. Mama said.
No, no, no we can't do that mama, the doctor said to keep you here in the hospital just to watch how fast u respond to treatment and also take some tests on you, once we are done with all that and the doctor says you are fully recovered, then we will head home together mama, put ur mind at rest, I will be around for a few days before traveling back to lagos, I already took permission from my boss to travel for a few days.
Mattew came back with the food, Abigail helped mama sit up so she can eat.
She finished the food, took her drugs and laid back to rest her back.
Mama, we will be back very soon, I will head home with Matthew to go get u new clothes to change to and also prepare a very delicious meal for you for dinner, I'm sure you have missed eating my delicious meals (she smiled)
Ok, my daughter, God be with you. Also, don't take too long please. Mama said.
Sure mama, in a hour or two, we will be back, so put your mind at rest and catch some sleep before we get back.
Before Abigail left the hospital, she decided to go see the doctor first to make enquiry about her mother's test results and also ask when she can be discharged
She told Matthew to wait for her outside the doctor's office while she goes in to see the doctor.
Good afternoon doctor, thank you very much for everything sir, I'm very grateful to God for saving my mother's life.
We thank God for a successful surgery session, we just did our best and God spared her life so all glory to God. The doctor replied her.
Sir, I came to ask about her test results and also ask when she can be discharged from the hospital. She asked.
She is doing absolutely fine and she will be discharged tomorrow morning by God's grace. The doctor replied.
She left the doctor's office and left with Matthew, they took a taxi back home, she packed a few clothes and a blanket for mama.
She prepared egusi and poundo, dished it inside a flask and packed it inside a portable lunch box alongside a bottle of water and spoon.
They hurried back to the hospital, when they got back, mama was awake and Esther (her younger sister) was with mama,they were talking about her school project work.
"Good evening mama, how do you feel now?
Hope you had enough rest ma.
Welcome back my daughter, I'm very okay now dear.
"mama let me help you to the bathroom so you can shower and have a change of clothes, then you come have dinner so you can take ur drugs" Abigail said holding Mama's hand.
Ok, my dear let's go.
She helped mama stand to her feet and held her hands and head out of the emergency room to look for a bathroom to change her clothes.
A nurse was passing by, Abigail stopped her and asked for description to the female bathroom, they went there and mama had a shower and changed into the new clothes Abigail brought.
They head back to their ward, She made sure mama finished her food and drugs before she slept off.
