“This’ll be your room. You can relax if you want.” My Savior had said. His name was Edward Graves. The biggest Mafia Lord of the country.
His name sends fear and shivers down the spine of whoever hears it. His presence was overpowering. The kind that made your skin crawl and your knees buckle. He is the man that does not need much to be said. He never appears in public events because it was rumored that women fainted in his presence and men pee their pants.
I had met him sometime last year, and for some reason, he seems to be so into me, he’s asked me out multiple times. Initially I thought he was just an ordinary rich gentleman, until he handed me his business card and I saw the name Graves on it. I genuinely shuddered. I didn’t know the man I had been so arrogant to was the ‘Edward Graves’ of ‘Graves Mafia’. Out of fear, I avoided him and didn’t dare show up in front of him.
I hesitated as I had brought his card out yesterday to text him on David’s phone, but I’m glad I did. He was the only person I knew that was influential.
I shook my head like I was trying to push the thoughts away. I didn’t want to think about anything right now. My head was spinning from bawling my eyes out on the way, I needed to sleep.
I looked around the room and I noticed how beautiful it was. Compared to my former room, this was a princess lifestyle. But none of it matters because I’d be leaving here as soon as I woke up.
I went into the bathroom and took a clean bath, dried my hair and washed my mouth, I took my time, like it was the last time I’d ever have access to such luxury. And I was right, if I left here, I didn’t know where to go next.
After my shower, I tucked myself in bed and drifted into sleep.
I woke up late into the night. I was totally famished and easily navigated my way outside. The door led me straight into the guest living room. I saw a nanny cleaning up.
“Hello ma’am, I’m Lois, the housekeeper, I prepared your favorite meal. Please come with me.” She said as she led me on to the dining area.
My favorite meal, how would she even know that?
I sat on a cotton and leather made chair as I looked at the dining area with admiration. This is money speaking. I was shocked to see Lois was not wrong, they had indeed prepared my favorite meal.
“How did you know my favorite meal?” I asked, unable to hide the shock.
“I only followed the master’s orders ma’am. If you need anything, just ring the bell, I’ll be here.”
I was left alone , still in shock.
Digging in was my favorite part, this tasted better than all the Chicken Wings I’ve ever had. It had a honey, sweet taste to it. I ate like I hadn’t in months.
I wasn’t paying attention to the tv playing in the background until I heard a name that caught my attention. Hemsworth. I stopped chewing to listen properly.
The caption “HEMSWORTH BRIDE KIDNAPPED BY MAFIA” was plastered across the screen. I immediately lost my appetite. I had to leave immediately, so I don’t further soil Edward’s name. I rang the bell and Lois bolted in.
“Take me to your master.”
Without hesitation she led the way.
Edward was in his office. And he was shirtless. I didn’t know his body was this sculpted.
I looked at his chest, rightly proportioned and chiseled. His packs were eight instead of the regular six. His skin was shining and golden. His tattoos adding more aura to his already impressive body. I could touch him rn.
“Let me know when you’re done ogling.” Edward’s thick voice cut through my thoughts.
Embarrassment washed through me as my cheek turned pink from his backhanded comment.
“Thank you very much for your help Mr Edward, I’m ready to leave.”
“Go where?” He asked, unfazed and unbothered.
He was right. Go where?
“That’s of no business to you, you’ve helped me and I truly appreciate it. It’s time to leave.”
“You’re not leaving.” Edward replied, and I felt that chill in my soul. What did he mean by I was not leaving.
“What do you mean sir?” I asked, confused and obviously getting angry.
“You’re mine now. You didn’t think I saved you for nothing. You’ve always been mine and forever be mine.”
Wtf was this mafia man saying? Omg. What the actual f**k! Was he about to kidnap me? The realization that I may truly have been kidnapped sent me bolting for the door, and two heavy chested bouncers appeared from nowhere and restrained me.
Wtf?
I tried bolting again and this time, Graves carried me and swept me off my feet.
“Let me f*****g go!!!” I screamed. I tried freeing myself but he was too strong and powerful. Powerless I bit his neck as my last resort. I bit so hard I thought I was going to taste blood.
“You see princess, if you keep biting me like that, you’re going to awaken the little master down there.” He said drawing my attention to his already standing p***s.
I immediately stopped struggling. The last thing I wanted was to be r***d by the person I asked for help. I regret calling him for help.
“Unhand me this moment.” And he obeyed.
I walked back to my room, all hopes lost I started crying again. What have I done wrong to the universe? Tears trickled down my eyes. It felt like everyone who has tried to help me in the past only helped me because they wanted to use me. First my parents, now this foolish Mafia Lord. The next time I have the choice to bite him I’ll bite him till his skin falls in my mouth.
Gunshot? Was that a gunshot I just heard?
I lay flat on the ground as the sound persisted. Are we being robbed? Oh my God what was I doing in the house of someone who had several enemies. I didn’t want to die. I lay frozen on the ground as I heard hurried footsteps towards my door and more gunshots.
“I’m not a member of this family. I swear I was kidnapped, I don’t belong to this gang or any, please spare me!” I screamed as my door flung open.
Silence.
I kept praying to any god that cared to listen.
“Ma’am, it’s Lois.” I turned around and saw Lois kneeling beside me. Relief washed through me.
“The house is under attack from an opposing gang, we’re to stay put in the house until Master returns.” She said then leaves.
Edward was not in the house? Had he gone to fight the attackers? Thank God. I heaved a sigh of relief and did a little bow for the god that spared me.
Wait. This was an opportunity to escape. The house was empty with just a few guards watching the front yard. I could escape!
I didn’t bother packing my bags. I jumped through the window and walked the opposite direction from where the guards were standing. I saw a dog hole on the fence covered with grass and fit my tiny body into it. For the first time I was appreciative of my thin figure.
“Well well well. Look who it is.” A group of men at the other side of the fence. Then gbam.
Blackout.
