Jaime'sLifestyle
I can't believe I'm leaving Jaime all by herself, Miss Nicky wondered in her thoughts, as the health checker wasn't sounding well. Mother, are you okay, what do you need? Jaime asked curiously. Jamie darling, I need you to just hit the emergency button, and a doctor would be here shortly, Mrs. Nicky tried to talk properly, as Jaime did as she said. The door cracked open, invading the young doctor in his lab coat. The young doctor examined Mrs. Nicky and left, leaving no explanation about her health. Jaime,Miss Nicky called out. Mother? Jaime replied, as she leaned close to her. I always love you, and whatever happens, I'll always be by your side. You should know I'm not your biological mother right... cough... Of course, I know you're not my biological mother, I've known since I was eighteen, and that's been three years now, Jaime replied. Mrs. Nicky's voice was laced with a sense of finality as she added, Jaime, I might not make it through the day.Jaime's grip on her hand tightened. Don't say that, Mother. You've lived with this disease for years, and you've always found a way to persevere. You've beaten the odds time and time again. I believe in you, and I know you'll keep fighting. Jaime's voice was calm and resolute, filled with determination. You've always been a fighter, Mother. Don't give up now. I have you, Jaime, Mrs. Nicky whispered, but her words were cut short by a cough. Before she could finish her statement, Jaime pushed the emergency button repeatedly. The doctor rushed in, Miss, what's going on? he asked Jaime as he hastened to examine Mrs. Nicky. I'm sorry, Miss... we've lost her.... These were the scenes that flashed back whenever Jaime was alone in her apartment. As Jaime gazed at Miss Nicky's pictures, a deep sense of longing washed over her. This world is unfair, she thought, feeling the weight of her loss. Despite being entrusted with Miss Nicky's belongings and legacy, Jaime desired for her presence, feeling hopelessly lost without her guidance and love. The words "I miss you, Mother" never left her whispers The ring tone of her cellphone knocked Jaime back to the present. "Hey," she answered, her voice pale. "Really, don't tell me you were thinking about the past?" Karl asked. "The past is gone, Jaime. I thought you'd accepted that and promised to move on," she spoke I know but it's hard Karl Jaime you need to move on, it's necessary for your mental health, well our school has organised all medical students into health practices so prepare tomorrow we will begin, Karl spoke giggling Yeah, the school sent me a message too,see you tomorrow love Jaime replied, before ending the call. As she hung up, Jaime quickly headed out to buy the necessary medical requirements for her upcoming practice as a doctor. The alarm's was abruptly silenced as Jaime swatted at it. She stretched, yawning widely, before rising from bed to perform her morning prayers. Following a refreshing wash, she began getting ready for the day. "No cereal for breakfast," she thought, rummaging through her kitchen. "Time to go," she said to herself, dressing quickly, locking her apartment, and heading out to the teaching hospital. Jaime's eyes scanned the hospital until she spotted the "Surgery Division" sign. "That's what I needed," she thought, entering the room and drawing attention. A man in his late 40s greeted her, "Good day, miss. You're one of our students, I presume? Please find your name on the board." Jaime followed his instructions. "Okay, Miss Jaime, have a seat," he said, his gaze on her lab coat, making her blush slightly. The man concluded, "You'll each be assigned to a seasoned doctor, who'll guide you hands-on. No knowledge is wasted, so absorb everything." With that, he exited the room, leaving the students smiling in anticipation of meeting their new mentors, whose names would be emailed to them soon. This day can't get any better, Jaime whispered to herself, almost aloud, as she realized the room had emptied. Just then, she bumped into Karl in the hallway. "Karl... Jaime!" they exclaimed in unison, drawing a few curious glances. Jaime's eyes sparkled with excitement. "Guess what?" She asked, barely containing her enthusiasm. Karl playfully rolled her eyes. Just guess, she teased. Karl protested, "C'mon, you know I hate guessing!" Jaime grinned mischievously. "The surgery division students are starting real-world training with their bosses tomorrow." Karl's eyes widened in awe. No way!! Yes girl I knew you would be surprised...Jaime giggled Woahhh...Karl added not looking to Jaime's direction Okay that's enough excitement...Jaime spoke in confusion realising her friend wasn't listening Look... Karl whispered as Jaime turned her gaze to a direction A black limousine pulling up outside the hospital. A man in black stepped out, commanding attention. Karl's eyes grew wide. "No way... this must be the owner of the hospital! No wonder the hospital is this big,Don't you watch movies? Someone coming out of that car has to be famous!" Karl whispered to Jaime's hearing Jaime shrugged it off. "It's just a black car, no big deal." But Karl was convinced otherwise. As they watched, Jaime suddenly remembered they needed to leave. "Karl, we have to go." Karl nodded in agreement. "Okay, let's use the back exit. They'll definitely not let us use the main entrance with all the commotion." Jaime agreed, and they made their way to the back exit, waiting for a cab. As they waited, a car pulled up, and the driver, dressed in a crisp uniform, stepped out. "Karl, driver?" Jaime raised an eyebrow, surprised. Karl smiled slyly. "Yeah, my uncle's driver. He's here to take us home." The driver nodded politely. "Good day, Miss Jaime, Miss. Karl. Please, get in. I'll take you home." Jaime and Karl exchanged a look, then slid into the vehicle. As they settled in, Karl leaned back, looking relieved. "Much better than a cab, right?" Jaime chuckled, nodding in agreement. Jaime's anxiety spiked as she stared at her phone, willing the email to arrive. "What if I'm not qualified? I need to do this, I have to prove myself..." Her thoughts swirled with doubts until her phone buzzed. "Cling cling!" The email notification chimed in, and Jaime's heart skipped a beat. She quickly opened the message, her eyes scanning the text. "Your new boss is Doctor Frank, Surgery Division," the message read, followed by his cell number. Jaime's fingers flew across the screen as she hurriedly saved the number, her mind racing with anticipation.she couldn't w ait any longer, she texted the doctor Jaime sent a message to Doctor Frank: "Good day, Doctor Frank. I'm your new assistant." Doctor Frank replied, "Yes, I've been informed. Please provide your name and age, and we'll proceed." Jaime shared the requested details, and Doctor Frank responded with a warm greeting: "Nice to meet you, Miss Jaime. We'll meet in my office tomorrow." He sent her the office location. As Jaime settled into bed, she let out a weary sigh: "I had a long day... sleep will be nice." She drifted off, thinking, "Tomorrow's gonna be a long day..."
