“Saphira”
I looked at the wolf in front of me and tried my best to contain my unholy rage. He was but a pup when the trickster god took him and put him through this. I made up my mind. I’m going to gather the necessary materials to summon my mother and get my explanations. I looked at Fennris curiously as a question popped into my head. “Where is your mate? And why isn’t she here with you?* as soon as the words left my mouth I saw Fennris stiffen and watched as his eyes changed colors. I then heard Lucians voice as he explained in the place of Fennris. “She hasn’t died yet, there was a war that broke out among us Lycans and we gave our lives to keep her from dying. Lycans can technically live forever unless we are killed, we know she and all our pups aren’t dead because we would have felt it.”
I sighed inwardly at that, I really need to summon mother. Hopefully I’ll be able to make my way to the realm of the living and find their mate, and once I do she better be prepared to reunite with them. “I’m going to summon mother soon, it seems as though me and her have to talk about and a lot of revenge to enact.” I saw Lucians eyes cloud over as I’m assuming that Fennris filled him in on what I said. His eyes became clear and filled with determination “how can we help you do this, all of my pack members and myself are at your service.” I grumbled in agreement and shifted back into my human form.
“The materials that I’ll need will more than likely be hard to come by based off of how diluted and mixed the bloodlines of different races have become.” Lucian shifted back into his human form and looked at me wearily “Your going to have to sacrifice anyone are you?” I couldn’t contain my laughter as I bent over after seeing his concerned face. “Our mother is a very calm and mellow god, which means all of her materials to draw her here need to be obtained passively.”
He looked relieved as he followed back into the pack house so that I could make a list of things we would need. His pack of dead warriors might not be able to help me gather the materials but they’ll be able to tell me where I can find them. I’m hoping that there are bloodlines still pure enough in the land of the living for me to do this. I cracked my neck as I walked through the back door of the pack house, lifting my nose to the air I tried sniffing out Zephyr. Lucian saw me and piped up “Who are you looking for?”, I turned to him and noticed that the wolves in our current vicinity were staring at me with wide eyes.
“For a pack made up of Werewolves and Lycans where nudity is common I’m getting the distinction that being clothed is a necessity.” Lucian chuckled and looked at me with humor in his eyes, “All of my wolves come from different times, places, and had different pack rules. Some of them are no stranger to nudity while others haven’t ever gotten used to it”. I just shook my head and made eye contact with Lucian. “I’m looking for Zephyr, I have a few questions to ask him but if the pup is busy then it can wait. In the mean time show me someplace we can talk that isn’t as cramped as your office”.
He led me to a room that had a long and wide rectangular table, “This is the pack houses dinning room, we all eat here together during celebrations”. I sat down in one of the chairs in the middle of the table, he sat next to me and pulled a small note book from his pocket. “What materials will you need?” I sighed and began to recall what all I could need from mother’s children “ I’ll need the canines of a purebred Lycan, the Fangs of an ancient Vampyre, the hair of a celestial Allicorn, the spit of a matured Gumiho, and finally I’ll need to pick up some of my scales from outside so that I don’t have to gather scales from every species of dragon.” Once I was done I looked over to see that Lucian had dropped his pencil and was staring at me with his mouth slightly open.

Coming out of my thoughts I I yelled out to Iris that I would be going for a flight and bring back food. It’s the least I could do since she pretty much had to reason with her mate to make him speak with me. Shaking myself out I took off and beat my wings as hard as I could to gain altitude until I was just above the cloud layer. Seeing the sky from this point of view is truly worth the work it is to get up here. Everything is so clear and it gives me a sense of purity. I let my wings fold into my body so that I start to plummet to the ground, what can I say I like going fast.
At the last minute I snap my wings open and glide around looking for something to bring back. My eyes land on a moose that’s busy eating not looking to alert. I land and crouch low to the forest floor and begin to sneak up on it. Just as I’m about to dig my claws into the ground and pounce I see two calf’s come up and start nursing from their mother. I sigh and stand up startling the trio as I take to the sky again, call me soft but I don’t kill mother’s or their young.
Flying around again I spot a bear that’s fishing in nearby stream, I slow down and circle the area a bit to make sure this one didn’t have any young, I didn’t see or smell any cubs so I swooped down and dispatched of it quickly. I thanked the animal for its sacrifice before flying back in the direction of the den. I felt myself pause as the pull came back full force and caused me to miss a couple of wing beats. I swore as I had to work twice as hard to regain the altitude I had lost and steady myself. This bear is really f*****g heavy, the pull still continued to try and make my body go off course but I went in the direction of the den anyway.
Soon enough I’ll start my trip to Yggdrasil and then I won’t have to worry about this damn pull anymore.
I landed out side of the den all the while being careful to make sure the bear was still intact. Iris poked her head out of the den I’m assuming because she heard me land and her eyes scanned me until they landed on the bear carcass. Her eyes got wide as moons and she made a yipping sound before she bounced over to me. “Are you gonna eat?” I chuckled a little at the drool that running out of her muzzle. “I had an Elk awhile ago so I’m not terribly hungry, I’ll eat whatever you and your family doesn’t.”
After I said this me and Iris turned our heads to a commotion that could be heard from the dens entrance. Out popped Cornelius dragging a not so willing Gumiho kit that took one look at me and started squirming for its life. He had it by the scruff of his neck so it could only really flail hopelessly. I turned to Iris “I’ll be right back, I’ll go shift real quick since they seem to be frightened of me.” Without another thought I went a ways into the forest and shifted into my human form.
I had a muscular build and it seemed that I had grown taller since the last time I took this form, a lot bulkier to. I had jet black hair that grown long after not being cut for awhile. The perks of being raised and created by the witch goddess was that she taught me a little magic. I chanted a few words and slowly a pair of shorts covered my bottom half, I didn’t bother with anything else because I wouldn’t be in this form for long anyway. I walked back to the den to se Iris and Cornelius trying to fight with the other kits to come out. I went up to them and cleared my throat. They both sprang into the air with their tails puffed up to twice their normal size. I couldn’t help myself as I started wheezing and clutching my stomach from laughing to hard. They on the other hand didn’t look to impressed.
The three kits is the den then poked their heads out and started making a wheezing sound to at the sight of their parents. One stern look from Iris s**t them up real quick though. They scurried out of the den and ran over the bear carcass and dug in, it was honestly cute to watch. Cornelius shook his head “Well at least they’re out now, though I can’t say I’m pleased that it was over watching their parents get startled.” Iris snorted and looked over at me “You’re a damn giant in your human form too just what did your mom feed you as a child. You know what never mind I don’t wanna know, I’m going to go eat cause I’m starving.” She walked over to the bear and just as Cornelius was about to follow I stopped him “I have a question real quick”. He looked at me surprised “What is it, I told you everything I know about the disturbance” I shook my head “It’s not about that, why are your kits here and so young at that. They smell like you so I know that they’re yours.”
He looked over at his family sadly “During me and Iris’s time alive we had 3 litters of kits. The first one she gave birth to 6 and 2 of them were still born. Her second one she gave birth to 7 and they all survived. Her third however was the hardest, she gave birth to 3. They were triplets since they were in the same sac. One of them was still born. Once we died and came here the moon goddess greeted us and said that we had some visitors that missed us. She had kept them safe until we could be here to guard over them.” I nodded my head in understanding “I’m sorry for your loss, at least you will all be reunited in the end.” He nodded his head and went to go eat with his family.
Iris and Cornelius gave me their thanks and wished me a safe journey to Yggdrasil, the den they had been staying in was only temporary. I found out that they were traveling to try and find their lost family members. Before they left on their way they both gave me vials that had some of their spit in it, hoping that it’s magical properties could be of use to me. I thanked them and waved goodby to them as they continued their journey. I morphed back into my dragon form and let out a huff of determination, I’m going to travel to Yggdrasil tomorrow and figure out what this damn pull is about.
